I first encountered stonechat at the recommendation of a friend who was studying jewelry making. I had gotten engaged and was starting the daunting process of finding a ring. Through recommendations we chose two shops to visit. The first, a traditional name you'd know for this type of ring and the second, one we didn't. We had no idea what to get or where to start. I had called ahead and asked that we be shown a variety of styles so that we could narrow in on a preference, I explained I didn't want to have a conversation about money until we had found the look we were after as obviously the chosen stone would drive the price within any style. I had been given the impression this was understood. I came away from the first visit feeling very underwhelmed by the experience. I wasn't pleased at all and felt sort of dirty about it. The whole scene had played out as an exercise in probing how much money could be squeezed out of my pocket. We were shown 2 types of ring only and then guided through the reasons to spend more for more shininess. We both came away wondering if this was it. We had imagined an enjoyable experience and we had not had one. THEN we arrived into stonechat, I was initially taken aback as the display in shop did not strike me as having much to offer us, until we were approached by one of the girls.... Everything about our day and experience changed from that moment. As if reading my mind we were told that they don't have samples of different stones for the same ring as any stone can be sourced and used. So all they showed us was an array of different designs. When I say array, there were SO many options and designs some quite out there in challenging our expectations but all appearing to be of the highest quality. Even options a fraction of the price of the other store just looked so much better crafted. As it turned out my now wife was into something more contemporary then the norm and the collection had several great choces. We had soon narrowed down to two and I was discretely taken aside to discuss the stone options and quality and cost thus avoiding any embarrassment or pressure. My wife got to have the full unlimited design consultation she wanted without ever having to feel there were limits to her options while I was never put under the pressure of the up-sell. The irony is I ended up spending less and getting a better result then would have come from the first store. Just shows the difference when you meet designers and not sales people. We walked out after one short visit, totally won over, feeling completely satisfied and went straight for a glass of champagne to toast to a job well done!!

I/We have been buying jewellery here since 2015. from earrings to necklaces to a very beautiful and unique remodelled ring. Ann and the team are so easygoing, yet they are highly skilled and easy to work with! Always a great selection of pieces (plenty of options from Irish designers). One of these days I’ll buy something for myself ;-)

I have been lucky enough to buy a few pieces here. There is a lovely atmosphere in this store - lovely staff that know their stuff and yet are gentle sellers. I love that the goldsmiths are in the store making the products at the workbenches. The craft is on show. I love their modern designs!

My favorite presents (both to and from me) have been sourced from Stonechat. Well designed pieces that I wear day in day out. Never had a problem getting bracelets etc sized to suit. Staff always really friendly and helpful. Hoping to get some old jewellery re-modelled by them into something more contemporary whenever this lock-down is over.

My sister and I have both had some old jewellery remodelled by the Stonechat team. We had a lovely consultation meeting first with Ann where we were given lots of time to discuss what could be done with our existing pieces and we were shown lots of pictures and given the opportunity to try on pieces. Ww never felt pressured at any stage but were given lots of very helpful advice and guidance. I now have a beautiful gold bangle and my sister has a fabulous modern diamond ring. My husband and I celebrate our 30th anniversary this year and we asked Stonechat to design a new ring for me using a Tanzanite, which I had received whilst still living in South Africa. We came to Stonechat over a year ago looking for wedding rings - and we love the ring a we got! I was already lucky to have been gifted some beautiful earrings made by Ann Chapman and loved her style. Ann, as well as Sophie, were so helpful and took a lot of time over a couple of sessions to make sure both my husband and I had the perfect rings. They were super patient with my husband over which type exactly he wanted. The rings are simply beautiful and we loved our experience there. My husband and I got our wedding rings made at Stonechat and had such an enjoyable experience. We first started with a consultation with one of their jewellery designers, who talked us through their offerings, and what settings would work best with my engagement ring. The setting of my ring is quite wide, so I wanted something that was unique but still let the engagement ring shine. The staff were so knowledgable and helpful and we left that consultation excited to see how they would turn out. We ended up selecting a titanium wedding band for my husband and a v-shaped wedding band with a small ruby for myself - and we are absolutely delighted with how they turned out. All in all, the process took about 6 weeks and they were in constant contact with us for updates. Huge thanks to the Stonechat team for creating our beautiful rings!

Delighted! Before our wedding we called into Stonechat jewellers because I had seen the titanium rings online. I wanted something a bit different and not necessarily in gold. The selection there is very wide and all the rings are made specifically for you in your size – I hadn’t seen such a wide range anywhere else, so I made up my mind and ordered that very same day! The lady in the shop was very good at explaining everything and I’m very happy with my titanium wedding ring (now safely on my finger!). I have been into the Stonechat team several times in the last few years. I got some old jewellery beautifully repurposed and I also have got a few new designs made up based on some ideas of my own but developed and created by expert designers and crafts people. Their patience, guidance and attention to detail is truly incredible. I have been awed with each of my pieces and am sure will be back again. Its a gorgeous spot where you can consider a personal design or buy some ready made pieces; and you'll get the personal touch like nowhere else AND it's local business which deserves support.

This is a wonderful jeweller. The designs are beautiful, clean and unique and having designers and a workshop in the store makes each piece feel very special. We both bought our wedding rings here and the staff were so helpful and we found designs that were perfect for us.

I asked Stonechat to remodel my and my grandmother's engagement rings, neither of which I wore often. They combined both into a stunning ring which I wear all the time. Eve spent considerable time with me going through potential designs. I then received a cad drawing of the design to approve before proceeding. The whole process was seamless. I also had some broken bracelets made into a beautiful bangle. I'll not break that easily! I was very pleasantly surprised by the cost of the remodelling and it was worth every cent. I have been a customer of Stonechat for a good number of years now since they brought my old jewellery into the 21st century. What a great group of hard-working jewellers who helped me appreciate, wear and love once again some old pieces of jewellery now in a modern setting or just as they were but now 'back to life'. I have also bought bits and bobs for friends, there is always something to consider buying in the shop, with great non-pushy advice. I bought my wedding ring in Stonechat. Amazing work by Irish designers - they were so nice and helpful and when we collected it they had put a gift in the bag for us which was a nice touch. Since then my husband got the stepping stones necklace made for the birth of our second son - they couldn't do enough for him and had to make it in a hurry but nothing was a problem - I love it and never take it off!

I had a very satisfying experience with Stonechat, I had a collection of old gold jewellery and sought to have it remodelled into a bangle. I went to the shop to discuss the options (way before Covid!) and as I live in the West my bangle was posted to me when complete. I love it and wear it regularly. The surprising thing for me was the amount of gold that was returned to me - in fact I am planning to have another bangle made!

My stepping stones pendant from Ann Chapman's own range is one of my favourite pieces of jewellery. I wear it most of the time.
