Elegance itself. Uniquely french yet South African. Most definitely South African flavor in this amazing bistro... Oh la and such wonderful owners. I can definitely highly recommend this place as one of the best dining experiences in and around the Cape. You will fall in love with this place. Indoors or outside. They've got the setting.

Must admit I saw some mixed reviews, so wasn't sure what to expect. Firstly the venue, it's classic, vintage, old school. It's just beautiful, spacious, kid and dog friendly as well. I can see myself sitting there for hours reading a book. We ordered some cocktails to start, really good and well priced. Then for mains we had pizza and the pesto chicken pasta. I don't even like pesto but that pasta was amazing, so was the pizza. Now for dessert... they seem to specialize in cakes and desserts, everything is baked on site in a small Bakery. My wife had some macarons, some of the best she has ever had. I had the chocolate fondant, which was soft and delicious.

One of the nicest bistros in town. Theme is amazing, it feels like you have walked into a movie set inside the house. Coffees and food are all very good quality. Friendly and helpful staff. Food and drinks do come out slow so expect a little wait time. Outside areas are really nice plus they have a large kids area with slides. Parking on the street in front or around the back on the property.

A 5 star experience. Very clever menu with a range of prices to cater for a range of customers. Creative starters, and good wine list. My guest had the chicken roulab which she is still raving about. Both the chicken and lamb curry were well above average. The decor is superb. See pics. Take your girlfriend there for a romantic lunch and your afternoon will only get better.

A little piece of Paris in the middle of Durbanville in a beautiful old house. Possibly a more Parisienne Cafe than there is in Paris! If not for the non-availability of some menu items due to the previous day "being crazy", this rating would have been 5 stars. However, the food is truly worth the wait. It is GOOD. Best nachos I have ever had. So tasty! Wine choice is small but decent for a cafe. Keep room for their interesting desserts and freshly baked yummies! Sit either inside with its eclectic style of tables and chairs and bar, or outside under the trees. There is a play area for kids at the back and a front garden for smoking. Park either in front in Oxford road or their private parking round back. Friendly and caring service. Nice, clean toilets. I look forward to returning.

I absolutely loved the ambience of the place. It is one of the most beautiful places I've been to in a while. Friendly, professional and proficient service. Chocolat offers an extensive menu of delicious food. I will most definitely come again and again and again and have told numerous people that they should definitely try this place out.

Bistro style coffee shop located in Durbanville. Beautiful setting of vintage furniture, chandeliers, paintings & ornaments. Outside seating available. Menu offers a decent variety. Breakfast, light lunches and freshly baked cakes are on offer daily. Delicious cheese and carrot cake. Wine menu available, they serve mimosas. Great service by friendly staff. Can get busy, so best to make a reservation. Antigue Store onsite selling vintage crockery, kitchen ware, vases etc.

Besides the food, cake and venue being absolutely perfect! I want to thank the staff for all their assistance with my Dad who’s in a wheelchair. I couldn’t push him over the gravel path in the back parking area, but they were absolutely amazing at helping me.

1st visit to Chocolat and I will definately be back. Friendly staff, excellent service and the food was excellent! PS: The blankets are just that extra touch showing you are thinking of every little detail!! Keep it up guys!!!

Chocolat Bistro is a stunning place for a nice afternoon treat. Especially the sweets are worth any drive. The staff is great and the place is endulging by it‘s flair. It is a bit like throwback back to Nan‘s living room for a Sunday tea. Get a scone, get some other dessert. And skip dinner. ;-)

We absolutely love the Chocolat Bistro and drag all our guests along to experience this decadent and unique experience in a truly French environment in the heart of Durbanville. The love for detail is visible everywhere, the food is great and the kids play area absolutely amazing. The play castle is equipped with a big and a smaller slide and the little "indoor" play area inside the castle is equipped with toys and books and lots of things to explore. Our kids love it and so do we!

Was the most beautiful restaurant if you like old school charm, this is it, I didn't spend enough time so much to look at. I didn't quite enjoy the prawn curry it was sweet, not used to sweet curry, but my friends who ordered calamari and steak loved it. Definitely going back soon

Perfect little gem. Romantic decor. Great service. Something for everyone on the menu. Decent wine list. Impressive portion sizes and well priced for an upmarket a la cart restaurant. I had the stuffed brie starter, lamb shank for main and chocolate fondant for desert. I had to take half my main home else I would not have been able to have desert!

It was my first time here and I was very impressed...Not only is the venue very picturesque and the decor so impressive, but the staff are friendly and efficient. The Food was Absolutely Delicious. I shall DEFINITELY come back to Chocolat for more of the same.

It is truly rare that I would give a full 5 stars to any place, let alone a restaurant. However, the occasion in which my girlfriend and I were in, that being our Anniversary, this experience overall was extremely pleasant, and everything came together beautifully. Firstly, the service was excellent. Vernon (Night Manager), you are an absolute gentleman and customer centric individual and your delivery of service was beyond approach. Our waiter, Daniel, young and vibrant and was spot on with his service as well. The ambience of the restaurant is so beautiful, and aesthetically inviting. I know this restaurant would thrive in the day, but at night, it simply sparkles. We were blessed with great weather and so got to enjoy our dinner outside on the patio in the front. The area at the back was beautiful as well. This place is well kept, and the standards are set extremely high without costing you more than any other quality restaurant would. My girlfriend had the pork belly (R210) and I had the lamb shank (R265). Along with our delicious cocktails, and other drinks, this evening was magnificent. The food was an absolute delight and of the highest quality. For a date night, or a day time lunch, this place is simply superb. I would recommend Chocolat to anyone, especially those looking for a romantic, yet intimate setting. Well done to the owners, you have truly established a gold mine, and your staff are excellent. If I could have tried the dessert, I would have but the food filled us right up. Superb, thank you Vernon and Daniel for making our special night even more special.

Amazing venue! Have been wanting to visit for a few years. Extensive menu with options for all. Various spaces to sit in and outdoors. Beautifully decorated, great atmosphere and music to match the mood and great staff.

Gorgeous interior old world decor is what makes this place so special. It’s perfect for a girls brunch, kitchen teas and even baby showers as the decor is absolutely stunning. We went for brunch and what particularly stood out for us was how fresh and delicious the food was despite them being so busy and having quite large tables booked out. Highly recommended if you’re looking to dine pretty!

Did you know Chocolat Bistro is pet friendly? What a beautiful venue. Very posh and the food was delicious. Very friendly service and I will highly recommend this place.
