I come here exclusively to feed the ducks. They don't like peas, carrots or broccoli, but they absolutely love frozen corn. If you want a duck frenzy you gotta bring a 5lb bag of corn.

One of the best parks in El Paso! So much to do. The park has baseball/softball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, handball courts, walking/biking paths, golf course with driving range, swimming pool, picnic areas, playgrounds, and a big beautiful lake! You can fish all year round as long as you have your fishing license. You can also take a kayak, paddle boat, canoe, row boat, or a boat with electric motor onto the lake at no cost! The lake itself is clear and pretty clean. The lake has trout, largemouth bass, black bass, cat fish, and sunfish species. Many types of birds frequent the lake. Ascarate park is a beautiful place to take your family, friends, loved ones, or yourself for a drive or spend the whole day. It's free to enter during the week and $2 on weekends.

Ascarate Park needs major improvements. I believe it is the heart of El Paso, where many events and gatherings can take place, but it's been neglected for too long. It has a lot of natural beauty, but it could use a botanical garden, an amusement park area, like Six Falgs, the bathrooms need a major up lift, hire people to tend them. The park could use an area for a dog park, so dogs could be let loose to run. More can, and has to be done with this once beautiful and social gathering park.

Always love coming to the park. Baseball fields, outdoor water sports, fishing, it can all be done here! If you’re a Pokémon go player, plenty of stops to visit that can be hit from the road too.

Ascarate Park is fun. There's so much to do. You can rent bikes to ride, and canoes. You can also fish and have Cook outs! Everything is relatively clean, and the lake is very nice to look at. There are also food trucks there to have a snack😊

Granted it's not a large lake and it may have trash on the shores from lazy people that visit but I still enjoy going there every so often. Pretty good fishing. Met looks of good people there. Especially bird watchers and other fisherman.

🌞Sunrise and sunset with clouds can be beautiful. 🦢Birdwatching is great year round. 🚶🏼‍♂️Walking trail around lake is nice and baby stroller friendly. No alcohol allowed. 🐟Fishing offers stocked bluegill, lg mouth bass, Chanel catfish and rainbow trout. The one downside is the park can be very busy 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦👨‍👧‍👧👨‍👨‍👧on holidays an not enough trash removal.

Great park with lots of things to do. You can walk, jog or run around the lake. There are picnic and grills for use. Walking around the lake is of my favorite thing to do. Fishing is allowed on the lake as well. Highly recommended 👌

Nice place to walk, i like the scenery. Picnic tables with grills available. Nice place to go fishing and enjoy a paddle boat. Swings and jungle gyms for the kiddos. Ducks and geese hang out around the lake, don't antagonize the geese tho they don't play lol. During the week it's free but I'm the weekends you have to pay a fee to get in.

Water is very low and dirty. Wish that someone could clean the trash in the water for such a beautiful park.

Really beautiful park, places to fish and places to play just about every type of game as well. I came here specifically for Pickleball and the courts are in really good shape. The wind is out of control here because they don’t have any windshields on the fence but other than that it’s a great place to visit

A beautiful day at the park. The county has done a great job of cleaning it up for fall picnics!

I really enjoy walking around the park and watching the birds..... lots of ducks and other aquatic birds. The geese are best left alone. I also like to watch the people fish, especially families. I have friends that have wonderful memories of this park. The only complaint that I have, actually isn't with the park itself..... it's with some of the visitors.... there can be a trash can a few steps away, and they'll throw their trash on the ground... no respect for what they have.

I had not been here in years and was pleasantly surprised. There's a walking path around the man made lake that makes for a nice walk on the gravel path. There are many ducks and other birds too. People were fishing, barbecuing and enjoying the park. It's better than I expected though it could certainly use some TLC/ beautification. I saw a couple of dead fish floating - making me wonder if it's safe for them.

Duck Pond, bring bird seed to feed them! Lots of beautiful spots to sit and enjoy, fishing, playgrounds, pavilions, and an aquatic center all right next to a golf course.

I've been coming to this park my whole life. Born and raised in EP. So many memories. And now I get to share it with my husband and kids and keep making memories at this park. Love it!

The park is beautiful. There was plenty of parking space and around the lake. I loved going there with the kids. The ducks were so close the kids could see them. There was a big jungle gym the kids could use. There was plenty of table and benches to use for a picnic area. The golf course is right next door. There is a small cafe with a bar for adults. This place was great for a Sunday stroll.

Great local park in the area. Very close to the Mexican border to the point where you can see whats happening in neighboring Juarez. Lots of pretty waterfowl such as ducks, geese, coots, and pigeons. Fish are also plentiful in the lake.

  • 4/5 Etchfamilyguy 2 years ago on Google
It's big. But mostly empty. It's got Christmas lights but far and few in between. So nice little cruise, great for the family. No alcohol. Looks great for fishing, walking but only during the day, looks too dark to walk in the dark. Bottom line is it's a big Park but missing something more

We had a Bible Study there along the lake where the ducks were swimming! They're such beautiful animals enjoying the water! We had a great lunch with our church friends consisting of sandwiches, potato salad, salad, tamales, fruit salad and cake even celebrated a birthday! So much fun!!

Awesome fishing experience, caught 3 fish within an hour. Definitely alot of weeds in the water, but i would just recommend using a variety of baits and lures.

Great park to take a walk around. Lots to do and see. I loved seeing the different kinds of water birds they have. I saw tons of people fishing. The softball fields were happily busy. Seems like the place to go in the area. Nice to see such a large water presence in the desert.

  • 4/5 Cristina C. 1 year ago on Google
We barely started coming over to practice fishing. We have only caught bass and i heard there's catfish as well but not 100% sure. For the most park its ok, its calm, its nice, lots of families, couples, people walking their dogs on leashes, people running, etc. Prices to go in are completely fair, 5, 10 dlls on the weekends. The park benches are relatively clean... lots of green, there is trash around unfortunately because people dont always respect and pick up after themselves... but not too much honestly. Now. the only BAD thing is the bathrooms...... just dont. Female bathrooms all clogged, not flushed, impossible to use them; and my husband said someone went no. 2 in the urinals in the males restroom....... there are multiple restroom kiosks around, so hopefully some other ones are better. We like it; juwy won't be drinking too much water so that i dont have to use the restrooms.

Great experience. Really ideal for Eastsiders and it alleviates the drive Downtown (San Jacinto Plaza)..... Unless you want to see both. My family enjoyed the setup, music and the festivities.

I loved walking at Ascarate Park, it has a great trail for walking or jogging. Families are grilling, group cycling in full swing and a lot of fishing going on too overall a very pleasant experience. 😉🚴🚶‍♀️🏃🎣🎏

This was a nice park in Our visit to El Paso. People are able to fish, feed the ducks, golf, or drink at the bar. Their prices for their drinks and food is decently marked. Lots to do and spend time. You can also see the boarder to Mexico which I thought was pretty amazing.

What kind of antenna are these doing in Ascarate more mind controlling devices by the EVIL CABAL?? DON'T TRUST ANY OF THE ANTENNAS THEY ARE DOING DAMAGE TO EVERYONE ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE METALS IN YOUR SYSTEM. THE VACCINE HAD GRAPHENE THAT CAN CAUSE HEART ATTACKS, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE MORE DAMAGE THAN I CAN EXPLAIN. THE CHEMTRAILS ARE LOADED WITH BARIUM, NANO TECHNOLOGY THERE IS A WAR AGAINST US ALL !! The question is are you even conscious after all the years of programming & school indoctrination? ONLY KNOWLEDGE WILL SAVE YOU!!!

I do enjoy this park! Great for families and events! Good for runs especially with the new bike/walk/run path at the entrance. I do not enjoy how if someone else is having an event they charge everyone who enters. Then they only take cash as well.

  • 4/5 Hannah H. 8 months ago on Google
My husband and I love coming here, we ride our electric scooters, walk around the lake, grill out, and feed the ducks! Water is low and looks like it needs to be cleaned out so I'm not sure how fishing is. Great place for get togethers, for the kids to run around and play, or to place baseball/softball/football.

  • 5/5 lili L. 3 years ago on Google
I love this park! the only thing that bothers me is that people have to pay in cash for the entrance. It is 2 dollars to go in, and they only accept cash. If you do not have 2 dollars cash they will make you turn around!?

    Good Golf course

  • 2/5 Barbara O. 3 years ago on Google
This is a hidden gem that could offer so much. A boat was suppose to come and remove all the moss and what happened? Fish are dying fishing for moss not fun. Instead of a downtown arena spend the wasted law suits and revitalize the only lake we have. Venues like goofy golf or an amusement park could make this place make money and something to be proud of. Our leadership is losing a great opportunity.

Great for fishing and relaxing great effort on who ever is running it the lake had really improved i see the water is being taken care of as well as the bottom of lake thanks to the mew machine to clean the algea and trash that might fall in on ocassion. Im an outdoors man always been since i was a child one early morning me and my two boys caught and released 140 fish from 6:00 a.m. to4:30pm. Great job staff for keeping up the lake so clean your job really matters again thank you for all you guys do always remember the steps of a good man are always directed by the lord God bless.

Beautiful park. Great for picnics, fishing, boating, running, biking, and most anything you can think of doing at a park. Nice open areas and tables with roofs make it a great place for a field day for the kids. I personally love to bike the trail that goes around the lake, and the water helps keep the air reasonable cool, a marvel in El Paso heat.

Super big park but is not maintenance at all. Playground is falling apart. I'm surprised no kids have gashed their skin open. They have ducks in lake but no signs to keep the wildlife safe or healthy. People pretty much feed them bread and chips all day long. All grilling areas are full of trash and ashes from the grill are over flowing. There is also a fee of 2 dollars at the entrance. Aside from all that sad stuff we still go. We do love the slow traffic and size of park for skating and biking. The ducks are fun to watch for the kids if you push the worries of their health deep down:/

Very sad that all fish died (I looked very hard in many different spots and did not see any and heard about the fish kill too) and they are not aggressively replaced since the entire city only has 1 public lake to share with their families. It gives the impression that City government seems concerned only about their own needs and not of the very community they were created to serve. The poeple of El Paso should demand accountability from their city officials to do what is right.
