I spent 2 weeks (July 202) in Basileus Hotel, sultanahmed with 3 kids. A kids friendly family hotel in Istanbul neighborhood. Very close to sultan Ahmed square (blue mosque and Aya Sofia etc). Reasonable price and well cleaned place with ottoman touch. Friendly and very much supportive staffs. A very good place to stay with your family within budget 🙂.

They got their own people writing good reviews. People please don't get fooled. They are totally rubbish people and rubbish hotel. Never come to this hotel they are not civilised people.

The backbone of this hotel are Ahmet and Faruk. They called taxis, ordered food, provided restaurant referrals, walked me to multiple points of interest, and provided great laughs! The quality of service, comfortable rooms, location, and price are absolutely phenomenal. Do not hesitate to book this hotel during your stay in Istanbul!

The place is simple but cozy. Breakfast is nice and the rooftoop has a nice view its also opened for the guests to enjoy. The area is very close to all tyristic spots but around the hotel anything can be expensive specially restaurants.

This is a great hotel in a fantastic location, the old town and many restaurants are in walking distance. The rooms are a little dated but it's clean, it's a little noisy but to be expected as it's in such a central location. The hosts here were so helpful, they assisted with tours, taxis and even booking a ferry for us when it wouldn't accept our credit card. It was very reasonably priced and I'd definitely stay here again.

The location of this hotel is absolutely spot-on. If you are going for history, make sure you book with basileus. The staff are so friendly and kind and the rooms were so clean and well attended to will definitely be booking with this hotel again upon my arrival in Istanbul, thank you for having us❤️

Cute medium sized room with good hospitality and services, waited for us till 3 am in the morning, when we arrived there. Also very nearby, at walking distance, from the attractions, there is also a convenience store at the corner of the hotel which would make your life easier.

It’s a nice and cozy hotel. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the Blue Mosque, Ayasofia, and Topkapi Palace. The men at the front desk are extremely friendly and helpful - they’ll call taxi’s for you, will give restaurant recommendations, help you with your bags, and they even went through the hassle of sending over a forgotten item after I left. Do not hesitate to book here, it’s in a convenient location, with amazing staff, and the pillows are super comfortable.

Our overall experience in this small hotel have been very nice and we had stayed there three times. The brothers running it were very nice, helpful and flexible. One time they let us check in at 6 am in the morning without asking for a half day fee. Since the terrorist attacks a few years ago, the tourism had gone downhill in Turkey and the hotel price dropped steeply. As such this hotel has great value. The service, proximity to the famous sites, the nice rooms, the breakfast and the low cost all add up to an wonderful experience.

I recommend Basileus Hotel, the guys are very welcoming, they help you with any information: booking excursions, taxi, places to visit. Coffee and tea anytime from the house. Cleaning in the rooms daily

Great hotel i went there as a solo traveler of color and everyone treated me with respect and was very helpful.Only downside of this hotel could be the noise outside at night ,beds are really comfortable and like most comment said the staff is extremely helpful specially Ali. I would definetly choose this hotel next time im traveling to istanbul. Thank you for the experience !

Booked the Basileus Hotel in Istanbul for a three-day reservation. Booked for my family with two small children as well as older parents. Therefore, we chose a convenient location so that children and parents after long walks could quickly return to the hotel. We were also pleasantly impressed by the description and reviews. The reservation has been confirmed. But... It turned out that the hotel had bad faith. Then came a letter stating that my card was invalid or no money, although it had money on it and it could be used to pay anywhere abroad. I had to enter three of my cards and the same answer kept coming. I called the bank and the bank told me that there were no requests for withdrawals from the hotel. I wrote a message to the hotel and tried to understand what the problem was with my cards. But they still canceled the reservation for two rooms. I was also surprised that they transferred all the responsibility to the Booking, so I wrote a message to the support service and received the answer that the payment is made and fixed by the hotel. After canceling the reservation, the hotel recommended that I book the rooms again. When I started a new booking, I realized that I was offered worse rooms and much more expensive than the previous price. Here I realized that this is a scam and manipulation by the hotel. This struck me very unpleasantly. I booked rooms at another hotel and there my card came up for payment. I am not in Turkey yet, but I can already draw conclusions about the mentality of this country. I will not be surprised if they use the data of my cards somewhere else. I do not recommend you to book rooms here.

Everyone run away. Dirty hotel, smell and mold everywhere. Dangerous hotel. The hotel must be closed !!!! I do not recommend anyone! We immediately bought another hotel. The hotel said we could leave and not charge. Now the hotel is lying. You don't want to be accommodated in this hotel. Already at the entrance is the smell of mold. Very dirty air conditioning and odor, noise from them. There are much better hotels in Istanbul. Don't buy !!!! Check out real photos. Do not read a fraudulent and paid rating.

It is a small hotel located in a historical neighbourhood in İstanbul close to Sultan Ahmed mosque and to the sea. The staff members are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms, mattress and the toilet are clean. It is suitable for those who look for a place to sleep in with a relatively moderate rent.

You get 2 🌟 hotel. For your budget and price. The rooms are small. The area is OK. In reach of sultan Ahmed and Aya Sofia and eminunu. I did have fun but if you ask me if I would stay there again. I would tell you if I have a bigger budget I would not. Booking.com photos not same as the reality. Many restaurants around but you have to try local bakery.

We found the Basileus Hotel from great reviews online. They absolutely did not disappoint! This is such a wonderful place to stay - it really felt like home away from home. It's very comfortable and clean, spacious and lovely. The location and value are unbeatable. I can't believe we got such good deal here - but because we did, we ended up extending our planned week visit - by weeks! It feels so much like home. Highly recommend. Special thanks to Mohammad and Mourad - they were such gracious hosts and helped with everything for our stay. From check in to check out, they are the best guys! Five stars for Basileus Hotel. We stayed there for 5 days and didn't want to leave. The receptionists Mr. Utkan and Mr Faruk were very helpful, friendly and always ready to suggest us the best places, they even brought me a birthday cake. The room was clean and beautiful. We felt like home and I already have suggested to all my family and friends.

100% recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul! The location is perfect, within walking distance of main attractions. More importantly, the people who work here are amazing. Some of the nicest, most hospitable people we met! We enjoyed our conversations with them. I even forgot my laptop in the room when we were checking out, and Mr. Ahmed made sure that it was shipped to me in the U.S. I cannot recommend this place enough, we will certainly be back!
