Very beautiful and varied walking area through the forest, over the heath and along various fens. There are several hiking trails here; blue over the peatlands (4 km), red through the forest and over the heath (5 km) and yellow through the forest and over ramps (3 km). The routes can of course be combined at your own discretion. Recommended!

Parking lot Wisselse Veen (near Epe) is a beautiful place as a base for a walk first through the woods and then through vast heath fields (Tongeren heath). A few routes have been marked out with red, yellow and green posts. We followed the red posts, which is about an hour's walk. But really worth it. You could also cycle, but this is a bit more difficult in some places, especially in drought conditions. The parking lot itself is not that special. You can park your car there, there is no toilet, etc. available. The 4 stars are for the environment. The photos also include a map with the walking routes.

This is a beautiful varied area where you can walk for hours!!

Beautiful nature; forests and heath on one side and grassland on the other side. A good place to start a walk or ride a horse.
