This was my final stop after two weeks of running around Austria and Germany, and it was the best meal I had on my entire trip. The staff were extremely friendly, the interior was exactly what you would expect in a traditional Bavarian restaurant, the beer was great, and the dish I got was incredible. They have an English menu in the back of the German one, but I noticed that it had fewer items than the normal menu and asked about one of the regional specialties from the German menu, Rehragout. It’s apparently a slow cooked venison stew/ soup with a red wine base, and from what I could tell a few root veggies, pepper, chives, and some other spices, along with a giant bread dumpling plopped in the middle. SO GOOD. After 14 days of schnitzel, schnitzel, sausage, and more schnitzel, this was quite the change up. Definitely headed back here next time I’m in Munich. Do note the 40 euro card minimum, at least as of January 2019.
