Lovey place. At the time of our visit, there was a fashion exhibition taking place which was free of cost and in the adjacent hall there was a historic art exhibition about Kamal Ata Turk. I loved the place and the way it is managed.

The historic building, where cannons were once cast, now hosts a wide variety of exhibitions. The old walls are very beautiful and the exhibitions are also interesting. Entry is free.

Amongst the many living arceological architecture around Istanbul still existed in Turkey, it can be proud to portray for tourists and the future generations to appreciate the past glorious civilization.

During the twentieth century this barracks served a number of purposes: as a training space, an education centre and a military museum. In 1992, Tophane-i Amire was transferred to the nearby Mimar Sinan University, a state university of fine arts. The university converted it into a multi-purpose space consisting of three exhibition halls: the Tophane-i Amire Beş Kubbe, the Tophane-i Amire Tek Kubbe and the Tophane-i Amire Sarnıçlar.

(Translated by Google) Tophâne-i Âmire building, which was built by Fatih Sultan Mehmet in the Ottoman Empire and which was cast for many years, has expanded its business volume with the additions of many sultans and has managed to maintain the property of being the most important military industrial formation of the empire for a long time. According to Evliya Çelebi II. Bayezid built some more buildings around the Tophane building built by Fatih Sultan Mehmet and ensured the placement of artillery and pouring masters. During the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, Fatih Sultan Mehmet and II. All the buildings belonging to Tophâne – i Amire monastery built by Bayezit were demolished and a new and larger Tophâne building was built in their place. This building, built by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, underwent extensive repairs in 1742, was completely destroyed in 1743 and rebuilt as it is today.

This is a former cannon factory that is now a small university. Notably, President Obama's first trip abroad after becoming President was to Istanbul. This is where he spoke. It is a two minute walk (up a steep hill) from the Tophane Tram station. There's nothing really to see here, but it is directly across the tram stop from the Istanbul Modern musuem, so it you're going to the museum and you want to see where Obama spoke, stop in.

The Tophane-i Âmire building, which was built by Mehmet the Conqueror in the Ottoman Empire and where cannon casting took place for many years, expanded its business volume over time with the additions made by many sultans, and managed to maintain its status as the most important military industrial enterprise of the empire for a long time. Today, Tophane-i Amire, which is open to the public as a Culture and Art Center affiliated with Mimar Sinan University, hosts various exhibitions and also serves with its cafeteria.

It resembles a building for religious purposes. You can definitely go ... imbued with the atmosphere. (Original)
