Great hostel in many ways but not for me. The breakfast really is ace, not just by hostel standards. They put effort into it, it’s healthy and omelettes are👌🏽Staff are nice. BUT the hostel is 100% set up as a party hostel. Everyone was drunk at the bar and stumbling into the dorms at 5am every night and it’s really loud; just not the social vibes I like in a hostel. Also it’s located in the grimy side of Taksim. It was in need of maintenance. Aside from paint and new mattresses (i felt every single spring in my mattress!), simple things like shelves and hooks in bathrooms and beds so that your toothbrush doesn’t hit the grimy floor when you’re juggling things in the shower or someone’s phone doesn’t fall on you when you’re sleeping would make the place so much better

I hate this place, it smells bad, the stuff is not friendly at all, the owner didn't help us even with our luggage. The stairs are very steep and dangerous

Very cheap & cozy place with a good vibe. I love staying at Beyoglu area in general because of its more European atmosphere, and this is the best choice if you’re in need of a hostel.

I booked a private room and as I was laying on the bed, my skin started itching more and more, it became very uncomfortable and as I looked at the bed, I saw a bed bug wondering around !!!! What a horror!! It’s the worst thing that can happen!!! This is an extremely serious issue that needs to be addressed by this hostel urgently. Of course I canceled my reservation after less that one hour of checking it. It’s impossible to stay in this condition. Obviously I do not at all recommend this place, as long as this bed bugs issue is not taken more seriously and fixed

Very friendly host! We stayed during weekend so lots of noise from outside. Bed was not too comfortable but was ok. Had private room with private bathroom so that was awesome. I do recommend this place.

We had a great time in Chillout ya hostel. We checked in late night and checked out by 12 noon. Place was great, we met few travelers on breakfast table and ended up speaking for about 2 hours 😅 Just one thing to note - No Lift in the property so take a note of it. Although the people on reception are super helpful.

a really good price for what you get. relatively clean and tidy, and you get a good breakfast. the dorms are small but if you plan to tour the city during the day, it doesn't matter so much.

There are many hostels you can find in Taksim district. But here, believe me, you will really feel like you are in your second home. In a hospitable environment, you will have the opportunity to socialize with your guest roommates from different countries, and who knows, there will be an opportunity for new connections. Breakfast is included in the room rate (please confirm this when you arrive) and there is also a vegetarian alternative. Receptionists are very friendly. 🍁🍂🌼 Especially if you are going to stay for more than a few days, this may be a comfortable hostel for you. I have been a guest for about two weeks and I liked it very much. I would definitely recommend. 👍

8 euro/night dorm beds 18 euro/night private single room (starting prices) Urban, hipster, and young hostel with intermittent and weak internet. The beds of the dorms give you almost a "fully equipped submarine experience". THE GOOD - Affordable prices for both dorms and private rooms. - Free drinkable water tap - The dorm beds have all kind of comfort and features to store, and organize your items - Shelving in the dorms extremely well though - Automatic lights in the stairs - Urban hipster vibe - Privacy in the dorms, regardless the fact that they are really small - Due to the hard mattress, I managed to do laying yoga in the bed - There are electronic code lockers next to the bed and a large locker (you need a lock) for big bags in the room - Cool background music in the lounge: classic rock and pop from '80-'00 - Free towel included BAD - Toilet and shower are smelly and moldy - No ventilation in toilet or shower - Large and extensive humidity damages in the ceiling of my dorm - The blanket was not long enough (I am 1,72m) - Several people was sick in the dorm, the staff could have given them a private room - They didn't have another blanket - There was one day smell of cigarette smoke in the dorm - At least one fire extinguisher was not in working condition - The tap has inverted hot and cold water - Hot water too hot, one can burn himself - Animals allowed - The reception is often busy - Mattresses on top of wooden panels (without bottom ventilation) - Lack of maintenance for certain things. For example, there are lamps and curtains holders in the dorms that need to be fixed. - The electronic code locker next to the bed didn't work PERSONAL BOTTOM LINE They could have made some holes in the Mattresses' panels for ventilation

Rooms could do with updating but location sensational for bars, food and shopping sightseeing. Service helpful. It is located near the red light district which can be interesting. Lots of police presence due to Eid and the above.

Great place to stay. Every bed has multiple plugs 🔌 The restroom in one dormitory was out of service, but whatever. Nice place to hang out and meet others downstairs by the reception, and they sell beer and wine. Location isn't bad, but it's a little confusing to find. Still, it's near İstiklal caddesi.

Old hostel. dirty room We entered the room and felt nauseated from the smell of cigarettes Awful air conditioning system Dangerous staircase. No elevator We got a three-bed room. It was so small that it was difficult to walk There was no bedspread or bedding There is a shared bathroom in the corridor It is not recommended at all Only the location was good The behavior of the staff was good

Basic hostel but comfy bed clean linen free towel. Air con that works and a hot shower. Bar closed as covid but will reopen shortly for breakfast hopefully. Small kitchen too. Bargain price and 3 lovely helpful brothers run everything. Free tea coffee and water. My bed cost me less than a pack of cigarettes in UK. Area right next to buses and Taksim areas for metro funicular

This property is best value for your money..You get what you pay for and that too in a place where the prices of other properties are quite high..You are not far from the places you wish to visit in Istanbul....Few places are within your walking distances.

Fair prices, very friendly owner, perfect location. If you are fine with background music im your room from the rooftop bar nearby, I strongly suggest the top floor with a little terrace and a good view on Taksims busy roads.

THE GOOD Camera in the dorm THE BAD I had some issues with the laundry: They told me to bring it in the morning but then in the morning all slots were taken. Wi-Fi in the room does not work.

The place itself is great 👍 the room had a balcony and although rather small was clean. The location is great in terms of being within close reach to taksim Square where the nightlife is; there are many nightsclubs where all the young turks hang out. The only thing that I felt let it down was the service, although the receptionist spoke English they didn't really seem to interact with the guests. If you are looking for a super cheap room in the taksim area of Istanbul, this is ideal!!

The AC was dripping a lot of water and it wasn't cooling the room perfectly...the place was too small but if u wanna go on budget trip i absolutely recommend it ...they treated us good tbh and they are an amazing people they can speak In English and I'm sure if u have any kind of problem they would help you...I might come to the same place again if I was broke and if I wanted to go on a budget trip 😁

Staff are very accomodating, and its bar is cosy. Rooms are clean and i love the neighborhood atmosphere. A lot of small restaurants and coffee shops around. Very near the busy Isteklal Street where u see all the shops and restaurants. I love this area. I will definitely stay here again if i have another chance to visit Istanbul, god willing! Tesekkur!😊

I recently stayed at Chillout Hostel Istanbul on my backpacking journey across Turkey, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. Situated in the heart of Istanbul. The accessibility to public transportation made exploring the city a breeze. What struck me the most, however, was the atmosphere of the place. From the impeccably clean rooms and communal spaces to the well-maintained kitchen, it felt like a home away from home. The free Wi-Fi was quick and reliable, which was a boon as I had to work remotely. But what truly set this place apart was the exceptional staff. Warm, friendly, and brimming with local knowledge, they enhanced my stay in so many ways. The hostel also organized daily events that provided an excellent opportunity to socialize and meet like-minded travelers. And when it comes to value for money, the affordable rates are more than justified by the services and location. All in all, I can recommend Chillout Hostel Istanbul enough for anyone looking to fully experience this vibrant city. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
