a must place to go for coffee lovers when in Ethiopia. they have drinking menu and roasted bean for take away. The bean was darker than I expected (so if you order medium roast, it seems like medium-dark roast). It was very crowded with locals and some tourists. I love the postcards they sold here (and I wish it is still sold), I was struggling to find a good postcard and I asked my local friends and they said it was no common, so I was happy when I found it with a nice design.

Great coffee place! It was quick, incredibly tasty, and felt like a real cultural experience (Ethiopian? Not sure—I just got here, but it was overwhelmingly local). You order the coffee and are given tokens to take to the baristas who make your order. There are no chairs—only bar-height counters where you stand and talk to your friends over coffee. Everyone passes around the sugar. Really fantastic!

A lovely coffee shop, with good prices and delicious food. Free WiFi too! A bit hard to get to since the road just outside is unpaved and muddy, but worth the very short trek.

This place is amazing. A beautiful shop with excellent coffee (although the road to get here is extremely rough). Probably the best shop in Ethiopia and possibly in all of Africa. A real treasure.

Tomoca coffee is the gold standard of Ethiopian coffee in Addis Ababa, everyone knows about them. Though it’s written up in virtually every guidebook and piece of Addis writing you’ll come across, it’s for a good reason, and it’s a coffee shop you must visit if you love coffee. It’s a very small, antique looking, coffee shop where the aroma of coffee will hit you before you enter. There’s no seating, so you basically order a cup of coffee and either stand somewhere, or place your cup of coffee on one of the few stand-up coffee tables.

I recently visited Tomoca Coffee and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere of this old historical place is a delight, and the coffee is really worth the high price. Word of mouth about the coffee has been consistently good, and I can definitely understand why - the taste and quality are top notch. The one thing I would like to see change is the fact that it can be hard to get a seat, so I hope they can make some improvements in that respect.

A hidden gem tucked away in Ethiopia's coffee history, this charming shop roasts beans with a modern twist. Forget stale traditions – they celebrate their heritage with the latest techniques, crafting truly remarkable Ethiopian coffee. And the good news? Prices are kind to your wallet, making it easy to stock up or simply savor a cup. Speaking of savoring, my recent haul came with a delightful surprise: complimentary coffee and tea! Pure Ethiopian hospitality poured into every steaming cup. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or just curious, this shop is a must-visit. It's not just about the beans, it's about the experience: a vibrant blend of tradition and innovation, wrapped in warm Ethiopian charm.

Amazing coffee. Amazing owner and an amazing story. Definitely a place to go to if you love coffee - although there are so many coffee places in Addis. Also a really cool place to just spend the afternoon on your Laptop or reading a book. It has a warehouse feel to it that is cozy! Definitely a must if in the area!

Tomoca used to have some of the best coffee in Addis - now they have the worst. A few years ago they were bought by Kaldi's. Kaldi's was a café chain known for its horrible coffee. In order to get a fresh start, they bought tomoca and renamed all their branches.

The coffee is prepared on Italian coffee machines. It is good, but I had a cup of a traditionally made cup of coffee just across the street from a street vendor which was so smooth and so much better to my taste.

World class coffee at great prices. But... Perhaps those working at the cash desk could be a bit more welcoming to customers? The person making coffee was fine but that was not universal. I do not mean to be harsh but I bought coffee to drink and then nearly 100€ of coffee beans there. Would it be too much to ask to ask those working at the cash desk to smile?

Old cafe vibe with locals, but I enjoyed the coffee on nearby roads more for 1/5 the price. Bad service, and dishonest advertising: says buy two get one free, but when asked they say only when you pay with telebirr!

The place is nicely decorated and set in an industrial area. It looks like the hipster „expat“ hotspot of Addis. Coffee is good. Food is underwhelming and often not what it says in the menu. Tomoca is a good place. But, I had a terrible experience when I called the number listed on Google business. I had to call the number because my wife thought she forgot her purse in Tomoca Haron. The lady who answered the phone was very rude and she smirked and asked me if we had had alcohol along with the coffee. She thought it was very strange that somebody would forget their purse! I was trying to find out the number of Tomoca Haron to see if somebody found the purse and kept it there. But, the lady would not listen to me and she finally remarked that I should talk to the police. I was just asking for the number. If the lady thinks she is too important to answer calls, then remove her number from Google business. I was very very disappointed with her behaviour because I always had high regards for Tomoca as a classy place. Not anymore! They have good coffee, but they ain't classy!

Tomoca Coffee (also written TO.MO.CA) is a family-owned coffee company based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was established in February 1953. The company is known for its Italian-style coffee, made with Ethiopian arabica beans. The name derives from the Italian Torrefazione Moderna Café or "Modern coffee roasting".

I used your service today November 28. I am not impressed with the service. I ordered banana loaf and I was given the slice on my hand. They had no plates for customers who want to eat at the café. For a business at your lever and serving at the space and science centre not to have a place for customers who wants to eat at the cafe is not acceptable.

Piazza the second branch is good but there are broken glasses which are not suitable for customers. And this does not meet the standards of hospitality.

A must place to go if you love coffee, macchiato is tasty. A bit disappointed because they only sell 2 types of coffee beans.

The best macchiato in Addis, has been for generations. The original cafe had a very nice ambience and history to it.

👍👍 Absolutely love this place. It’s a little cute traditional cafe with really nice staff and atmosphere. We were lucky to meet the owner who was so welcoming and nice to us. It’s a walk distance from the National museum. 10/10. Hope to be back soon 😊
