Little
pavilion
restaurant
at
Etten
Leur's
marina
/
swimming
pond.
The
place
is
a
basic
block
cabin
-
light
wood
in
quite
a
modern
setting.
By
the
time
I
write
this,
it's
the
end
of
summer.
The
pond
is
deserted
-too
cold-
and
the
Marina's
full
of
river
cruisers,
tacky
lampshades
inclusive.
Well,
the
pond
isn't
literally
/deserted/.
It's
full
of
migrating
geese
and
if
you
come
too
close,
they'll
eat
you.
Alive.
You
know
what
geese
are
like.
Or
if
you
don't
-
try.
You'll
laugh
at
the
next
pitbull
terrier.
But
then,
that's
not
the
restaurant's
fault.
We
arrived
when
the
rest
of
our
family
was
already
here.
It
was
granny's
birthday
-
drinks
were
served
and
mixed
nuts
were
on
the
table.
We
were
asked
what
we
would
like
to
eat
-
not
given
a
menu.
The
food
was
OK,
acceptable.
I
had
a
steak
(braised
rather
than
grilled,
Dutch
style),
not
great,
a
bit
small
but
certainly
not
bad.
Others
had
chicken
satay
(actually
quite
good)
or,
if
I
remember
correctly,
a
piece
of
salmon.
No
complaints
were
heard.
Deserts
were
traditional
ice
cream
coupes
and
well
executed.
Only,
they
forgot
mine.
Quickly
remedied,
but
still...
This
little
restaurant
is
not
up
there
with
the
big
boys
but
it's
certainly
acceptable;
it's
a
LOT
better
than
the
Van
de
Valk
I
reviewed
recently.
The
setting
is
good,
the
parking
space
is
adequate,
the
kitchen
is
OK.
The
people
are
friendly
and
the
toilets
are
clean.
I
probably
will
go
here
again,
and
advise
this
place
to
friends.
