So disappointed, usually reliable fish and chips. On our last visit on Dec 8, we received fish that was very SALTY. I told them that we were very unhappy with our fish. I was told "Yeah sometimes we double salt them." And that was it. So if you decide to visit, be sure to request that they don't double salt your fish. Otherwise, you will be sadly disappointed and salty like me.

We had the coconut shrimp and frech fries. Great food and exceptional good service. Adam the young man that helped us also helped an elderly gentleman and was so kind and patient with him. Highly recommend for the great food and service.

Buyer beware - they have changed their prices and their grilled fish now only comes with rice. This is not clear on their menus and the manager was extremely rude and condescending. They no longer care about their customers and their food quality has also gotten worse this past year. We used to be loyal customers but will never go here again. There are better fish and chips now in Eugene that are customer friendly, have better prices and care about the quality of their food.

Get cod basket and coconut shrimp for lunch once in a while and it is always awesome. They also sell lots of different fresh seafood. Super nice to have such a great fish market close to home.

Their Fish and Chips is really good and convenient. I am a returning customer because I love the food. But even though the food is very good, customer service is terrible. They have 4 things in the menu but the don't make the effort to understand me on the phone. At least twice I had to wait because they took the order wrong. Last time my husband called and they did not understand one item we ordered (shrimps). Instead of being patient and ask again, they decided to talk in Spanish (????) and hung up the phone. When we went there, we realized that they did not prepare our whole order and we had to wait. No one did anything apart from saying "sorry". It is insane how discriminatory they can be sometimes. At some point the good food is not going to be worth it. On a side note, there is a woman there that is super nice and smiley and always helps us. I wish the other employees were like her.

We love this place. The shop is inside and has amazing fresh fish, incredible seafood, smoked salmon and smoked black cod, cheeses from all over the world, handmade pastas and sauces, chutneys and oils and aged vinegars, anchovy paste and salsa. The outside window is where you order fried fish. We usually get the halibut, fried with a cornmeal type breading, fries, and a soda or tea. There are a few tables outside, but in winter it's awesome if you can snag one of the three small tables inside the shop. They food comes wrapped in butcher paper in a brown paper dish. Works well. Total Eugene gem.

The BEST fish and chips; not heavy or oily. Love the variety. Fries are crispy and fluffy. Tarter sauce is delicious and zesty. Coleslaw fresh and light. The shop is a great place to pick up supplies for a nice meal at the shop. Great fish quality. Good cheese selection too! The team members are super helpful and great to ask suggestions from. My favorite place to come when I am back in Eugene.

Attention seafood lovers! When in Eugene, this is the spot to hit! Restaurant and market combined. Unique special meals of the day. Top quality seafood and homemade tartar and pickles.

Newman's. A main stay in Eugene for how long. Well stocked shelves and window case. Lots of employees at the ready should you be in the mood for heavy sport. I have seafood intolerances do I did not imbibe. Like everything else Eugene when did this place get so expensive. 55 bucks for a pound of lump crab meat?

Food was fast, fish was nice and crisp. Much larger portions for the price compared to Fisherman's Market.

Did the walk-up window for some take out. Salmon & Chips and a Coconut Shrimp & Coleslaw. Everything was great, and love the cocktail sauce, which has a bite from the horseradish.

I saw this restaurant/fish market on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives several years ago. My friends & I were on our way to Florence when we stopped for lunch at their Coberg Rd location. They offered fried or grilled varieties of fishes or shellfish. They also had sides. I liked that you could mix up your order by getting your selection by the piece. I had fried shrimp, halibut, rockfish & a side of cajun french fries. My friend ordered a salad with grilled salmon. We all enjoyed our meals and look forward to retuning & sharing with our friends what a great place it is to dine!

Newman's has good quality fish and there are always a few people working there so you usually don't have to wait in a long line. The selection seems to vary based on what they can get so it is best to call ahead. Their prices may be a bit higher than other places but the quality makes it worth it to me.

At long last, finally visited this little gem. Go for the fish, indulge in some fabulous cheese. The young man who assisted us in product selection was very knowledgeable about all the cheese offered. We chose some delicious sheep cheese. The fish we decided on was Wild Silver Salmon which was outstanding. We also picked up a piece of Cod which was very good as well. We will definitely be back for more! There's also a window where you can order a cooked meal.

Newman's Fish Company has the best Fried Shrimp, and the Fries are slender and crispy. The Tartar Sauce is tangy and fresh. There are lots of Fresh Fish choices at a great price. I've never waited long for my order to be ready. Check out The Specials Board for intriguing lunch options. Salads, Sandwiches, and Tacos are some of the options.

We love Newman’s so much. The young man that took our order was so kind and helpful and the food was delicious! They have a cute little outdoor seating area, too. We had the cod fish and chips and cajun shrimp and I would recommend both. We hadn’t been in a few years but will definitely be coming back soon!

I ordered one of the specials, a Cajun Shrimp 'Po Boy sandwich with coleslaw as the side. It did not disappoint! There were about 8 Jumbo-sized shrimp, whose flavor was divine. The Cajun-spiced breading was was just the right thickness and added to the gustatory experience. Then, after adding the house-made cocktail sauce, the sandwich was complete. I can safely say this compares favorably with any shrimp 'po boy I ever had in New Orleans. The sandwich gets a 10 of 10 score. About the coleslaw, which was the only truly disappointing item in my order. Although the cabbage was grated to the perfect size, it tasted like just plain cabbage with no discernable dressing. The slaw gets a 2 of 10 score, which is sad since the slaw could be so much more. I also ordered the fried dill pickles. And again, the amount of breading was just right. However, the dill flavor didn't shine through as it should have. This could easily be corrected by using a thicker dill chip. The current pickle chips are just too thin to hold up their full flavor inside their breaded enclosure. I'll give this side a 6 of 10 for now, hoping they will use thicker pickle chips next time it's offered which would elevate this item to a 9 out of 10.

Great food. Best fish and chips in Eugene. Seafood market also the best in Eugene. Always clean inside and out. Fresh attractive displays. Great variety. The staff is always knowledgeable, willing to help and friendly.

We went and were served with a smile and even given recommendations and sauces that complimented the fish we ordered. I love a place that treats you like family. 100% satisfied with the food and service.

Super friendly, welcoming staff. The better for any of the fish and chip meals is amazing. I don't even use any of the sauces.

They have a great selection of fish compared to other places in town. I've come here frequently for more than three years and I've noticed their raw fish is great to buy to prepare at home yourself. However the takeout portion has gotten less and less consistent. Even when it's not busy at all. I don't think I've had an order completely right in about 4 months. The only reason I keep going back is because my partner enjoys the cod here. I got her cod fish and chips today, she bit into it and it was hard. Pulled the breading off and half of it was like a weird dark grey color(she is now over their fish and chips). I ordered halibut, but I got cod, which; I should have expected by now so thats my fault. Also what really bums me out is I have to strategically make sure to pull all the food out of the bag in the car because they pack it so tight by the time you get home, anything fried is mush(I live 11 minutes from newmans). Also almost every time the person tells me, "oh yea, that just came out"...almost never did. Of course I eat some of the fries on the way home and they are room temp if not cold my friend. I really really really want to love this place but I never feel great about a purchase from here unless its something from the deli to cook later.

Food was good. You walk up and order at the window and they call your name when your order is ready. We had a party of 5 for lunch and found a little corner table. It was pretty busy about 1pm on a Thursday.

Extremely fresh seafood in a quality dry batter. We had the scallops and halibut and both were fantastic. Gives the fish market a run for its money.

Ordered tuna ready for canning. The tuna was fresh, nicely dressed and iced for the trip home. Very helpful people and exactly y as ordered. I always get some smoked salmon while I'm there-delicious!

If you like fish and chips, the 2 locations have the best in town. And the tartar sauce is of great quality and creaminess. It's been my local favorite for about 12+ years over the other name in town. I just hope they don't dare change a good thing.

What a treat! They have a walk up to go window and they make fish and chips to order. I had the Cod and coleslaw both of which were fantastic. I'm not sure if the cocktail sauce they give with to go orders is their own but it was amazing with just a little bit of heat. I'd buy a bottle if it was for sale inside the fish market. Will definitely be back to to eat and explore inside the shop.

Looking for a Fresh Seafood Meal ? This is the spot without the frills ! If I don't feel like cooking I can go to their window on the South Side of the building to place my order. One can eat there or take it to go ! There is a variety of Fish for Fish and Chips, House Made Coleslaw and drinks. I enjoy the Halibut and the breading on the Fish is light. Newman's has always been consistently excellent! If one wants to cook at home there Is a huge variety of Fresh Seafood inside the Market .

Order seafood through an outside window, just off the parking lot. Mostly battered-deep-fried stuff like cod, coconut shrimp, and scallops. Tasty but high in oil. Sodas, lemonade, and iced tea available. Small covered area with about 4 tables and a few seats along a counter, and a few uncovered tables near the entrance to the very good fresh seafood grocery. Note there is another location on Coburg Road that offers some grilled seafood choices. This location on Willamette Street does not.

We were first-timers here and I was honestly a little disappointed. Anytime I drive I always see a lot of people eating there. They have multiple types of raw fish and Seafood you can purchase inside and then on the side of the building is where you can order some hot food to go. Let me tell you if you love tiny pieces of greasy fish and discolored gag-worthy chowder then this is the place for you! The reason I gave them three stars had nothing to do with their food it was because their staff was very friendly and that was the nicest part of the establishment.

I've been coming here since I was kid and all of their food is consistently so, so good. My favorite is the salmon and chips. The coleslaw is also super delicious, it's light and crunchy. Hands down one of my favorite eateries in town.

Hands down the best fish and chips I've ever had!! And great portions for the price! I can't wait to to back

This place is special! It's what we refer to as a hole in the wall, which are usually the best secret and unknown grub hubs in a town. Newman's is literally a hole in the wall because you can only order and receive your food through a hole in the wall on the side of its fish market. Great food at a great price. I always fit in a visit when I'm visiting my daughter at the U of O.
