We came on Saturday for a walk after brunch. The park itself is not big and only a few people were here to jog at noon. The houses are historical houses built here (a few are replicas) such as a church, a schoolhouse, with furnishings inside. However we were only able to peek from the windows because they’re only open for visit on weekdays and with a guide. So I might come later after booking a tour online ($5 fee). You can find pretty things in the museum store such as colorful rock candies, beeswax candles etc.

A must-see historical park that is like nothing I have ever seen before. It is like stepping back in time as you are transplanted into the 1900's. The grounds are beautifully maintained. You have to pre-schedule a private tour to see the inside of each building. Plan on spending a while there since there is so much to see. Benches are available to rest and there is a checkers game set-up at the Texaco Gas Station that is can be played.

We always come here for the Christmas lights but decided it was something to do and it's free. There are like trails between the houses. It's just a nice place to take pictures learn a lil history or have a pick nick. We enjoyed our visit even though it was a lil hot that day.

Nice historical preservation of early Texas settlement. Good way to connect with the past of North Texas.

So many historical buildings, very cute and quaint. Volunteer guides very informative and kind. Definitely coming back with the rest of the family to explore, they have a lot of special events on their calendar, active on social media so check them out!

Have grown up going to the historical park and have always loved it. It’s so peaceful and beautiful. And many events are held there throughout the year. The fourth of July celebration and firework show is always fantastic year after year! My family and I also attended the day of the dead celebration they held at the church this year, for the first time. It was such a lovely way to honor those who have left us from this world. I’m beyond grateful the Historical park held an event like this. So much history that is being preserved at this park with its historic buildings. And so many great memories are being made for many. The staff are also always friendly and helpful. Thank you guys for all you do. I can’t wait to be back!

This place reminds me of the historical sites on the east coast, which usually cost money to see, and often you have less to explore openly (though I suspect most of these exhibits can normally be seen through the windows which are hard to see without long-exposure images such as ones I uploaded and plan to add to my background image collection.) A lot is available to explore and this is the perfect place to showcase history; and I have no idea why I waited so long to check it out despite knowing about it for some time now. The General Store also reminds me of photos I came across when researching one my family would have owned from around the same time period (though just before the end of the 19th century) and it was great to photograph it, and even the buntings look like period pieces; in fact it reminded me of a video game called Bioshock Infinite which was turn of the century based, and used a lot of patriotic symbolism. Don't hesitate, it has something for everyone, and I plan to find out when events are taking place. Update: While attending a 'Star Party,' just before dark, I snapped some photos with my cell phone (I forgot to bring my D-SLT camera.) I'll admit that I can capture images with my cell phone that I can't get with my D-SLT (DSLR variant.) I can't really say it's "better" but it does tend to make it easier (most great photos are achieved using a tripod, and due to lens design you can get much easier compositions, but it becomes less contrasty and has lower depth of field, hence a "shallower" focal plane.) — at Farmers Branch Historical Park. Update: baseball

I love this place and the nearby gardens. It's one of the nicest public places for a walk in the area. Few people seem to know about it, so it's also nice and quiet. The historical buildings are worthy of a visit too; we take our out of town guests there. The guides are great to cater to kids as well. In the spring and fall, the Rose Garden is spectacular. I almost feel I should keep this place a secret, but go ahead and enjoy it and while in neighborhood, check out the fabulous restaurants in the neighborhood.

Historical park, indeed! The Victorian house, Depot, General store and gas station reminds me of scenes from many old cowboy movies. All houses were locked, so we could not get a look inside. The guard said that they are offering guided tours 3 days a week. I can't wait to register. Kudos to the maintenance team. This place will encourage you to visit over and over again. Not much activities for kids, but they sure will enjoy this place. It is a shame that I missed this place all these time being in Dallas. This place encourages me to look for other historical places in the area.

Awesome place to take a walk or have a picnic. Beautiful gardens, well maintained. The cleanest and nicest bathroom I've seen at any park ever. There are trails connecting this park to several other farmer's branch attractions. The kids had a blast and we will definitely be back.

This is my sanctuary, the best job and most amazing down to earth people working with me. This weekend was our Halloween celebration and these guys built the haunted hedge just for this one day celebration. The care and specificity of this park true to time in history and all this for people to visit. A town of historical buildings and history lessons up close and personal. Farmers Branch City in a park is my favorite place in the metroplex and the amazing flowers, birds, landscaping, roses, rawhide Creek, the trails immaculate. Everything perfect like the forest nestled in the city.

Newly developed park there may not so many choices, but it’s good and too much to wait since it’s a new one

A fun and varied historic museum, covering everything from Victorian homes to classic 1930s cars. Well worth it!

As a kid I used to be pretty good at flying kites. So it's kind of cool to know that somewhere in Farmers Branch there's still a place I can do just that.

Its called city in a park. Nestled between homes and the city council building, there are trails, bridges, a dam and lots of photo ops with historical structures. Great place to unwind.
