I would highly recommend this small friendly hostel. The hostel is in an excellent location about 2 minutes away from the bus and train station. It is about 15 minutes from the airport. There are a wide range of restaurants and bars in walking distance catering for a variety of price ranges. There are some great local restaurants where you can buy a great meal and wine for less than 7 euros. All essential amenities are close by. The staff are amazing and make you feel at home. The communal kitchen and breakfast pancakes create a family feeling. There was a communal evening meal on the nights I stayed which was great and a very unique experience. Unique experience! I was told the owner designed the place on his own. There’s a well in the hostel where you are allowed to drop a seashell to make a wish. How romantic! The owner also accompanied his guest til quite late at night and comes in to make pancakes for breakfast. We were given a double bed with a glass ceiling. I’d highly recommend this place for anyone who visits Faro. BTW, this place is about a 3-minute walk from the bus station.

One of the better hostel experiences I've ever had. The hosts couldn't have been friendlier, and the other people staying there were very wholesome individuals. Adrien takes the time to get to know all his customers on a personal level (especially as he can speak several languages), creating a family like environment. The hostel is perfectly located and easy to find. If you are solo travelling and not sure what to do, Adrien is full of great suggestions in the local area and the Algarve from nature spots, waterfalls, beaches and local authentic restaurants. The design of the place is unique, giving it a beautiful rustic feel, and the cleanliness of the facilities are impeccable. Every morning you are woken up by the smell of delicious pancakes personally made by Adrien, which you share with other friendly travellers around a huge wooden table. In the evening, you can sit up on the roof terrace or lie in the hammocks gazing at the stars, sharing adventure stories with other fellow travellers who are staying at the hostel. When visiting Faro, I would highly recommend staying at this hostel for a relaxing, memorable wholesome experience! I will definitely be coming back to stay again.

We are a group of 7 from the same family traveling around Spain and Portugal. One only day we had at Faro and we chose the best hostel !!! Lovely people, yummy breakfast at a really pretty hostel. Very clean, well looked after, comfy. Will come Back no doubt. 😘

The best hostel experience I’ve had. Adrien’s authenticity and positive energy makes this place what it is. It is clean, the staff are so hospitable and the pancakes are amazing. All my needs have been met, I have nothing but positive things to say. If you’re contemplating a visit to Faro, it’s worth it just to stay in Casa da Madalena.

Probably the best hostel I have ever stayed in! Adrian, Marta, Dragon, and Sam make you feel like you’re at home and a part of the family. The place is gorgeous, and they’re always cleaning and making sure everything is perfect for their guests. It was hard to want to do anything other than just hangout and socialize with the other guests. If you are anywhere on the south coast of Portugal or Spain, go to Faro and STAY HERE!!

Amazing place, staff and location are top notch. The breakfast is great, rooftop is a good gathering place also. Only downside is the construction in the early morning but it's temporary. The rest greatly makes up for it, especially social time at 7pm where you can meet new friends and go out after. I highly recommend

Our stay at Casa da Madalena was amazing, the staff are the nicest people we've met on this trip, the house is beautiful, perfectly located, breakfast is delicious, the terrace at the rooftop is super comfortable and even though we checked out before 6 am, they bothered to prepare some coffee for us. I highly recommend staying here.

The hosts, staff and the ambience of the hostel give you a strong sense of belonging. It shows that there has been tremendous love and effort put into the hostel. A sitting lounge and a fireplace for the Winter, and an open shower, and hammocks on the terrace for the Summer; The hostel seems to have something for everyone all year round. The socials and the morning pancakes ensure that no Solo traveler is going to start their day hungry or alone. Overall, exceptional location, tidiness, ambience (particularly the playlist), environment and most importantly, people. Can't wait to go back (if Marta lets me).

Very good place, I’ve been here for 1 night, I was alone. I was very well received. I met so much nice people from all around the world. Plus, you have homemade pancakes in the morning at 9h30. I highly recommend it.

Had a really good time here in the 2nd week of November. Speaks for itself when the Hostel is full booked in off-season. Very clean, delicious breakfast, perfect to meet many nice people and especially really lovely staff. Already miss my first coffee of the day on the roof terrace.

I've had quite a lot of experiences in hostels, and this is the best hostel I've stayed in by far ! You instantly feel at home, the staff is so welcoming and lovely. It is really clean and tidy ! You can chill in the hammocks on the rooftop and even take a shower in the open-ceiling shower. And last but not least, the family breakfast with fresh homemade pancakes is the highlight of this hostel. Would recommend this place 100% !!

This was my first solo hostel experience and I instantly felt at home the minute I walked in - easing all previous fear and discomfort I had from being alone. The staff is so wonderful and kind, the beds are comfortable, the rooftop is the best spot to hang out (and the hammock) and the outdoor shower is incredible! The staff has amazing recommendations and the banana pancakes are… DELICIOUS. 10/10 would recommend this hostel to anyone staying in faro. Thank you Casa Da Madalena! <3

Stayed here in April, one of the best hostels I have stayed in! Owner is really friendly and welcoming and has made the hostel a perfect place for solo travellers. Met some great people here and overall had a great time socialising with other travellers, I will definitely be back :)

I only visited the Casa da Madalena hostel as a day tripper but Martha, Clara, Andrea, and Gianluca were so kind and welcoming. A full powerbank from Martha to help me do some work and an ice pop from Clara were just a few of the kind gestures from the hostel hosts. I was fortunate to have a great chat with Gianluca and Andrea during my short visit too I hope to return for a proper visit one day and I recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Faro as a solo traveller or in a group :) p.s check out the peacock garden if you're visiting faro. it's noisy but beautiful!

This is best hostel I stayed in during my trip to Portugal. You will get good vibes as soon as you enter the hostel, because I didn’t feel like I was away from home. Me and my girlfriend stayed after visiting a local hotel... and the hospitality was incredible, both owners very very welcoming. Possibly one of the best places me and my partner have stayed! The building itself is beautiful, kept very very clean, and not to mention the rooftop terrace is the perfect spot for a cute evening... the hammocks and mini bar, with the lights and seating area, made the experience incredible. I high recommend this place to anyone travelling to Faro!!! 5/5 star, we will be back to stay again

The hostel is located in the center, it is easy to reach it via train, car or public transport! All the restaurants and bars nearby. The team is extremely friendly and the morning pancakes are just amazing. Great team and lovely place. I warmly recommend it :)

Great hostel in Faro centre! The location was great, with a lovely breakfast offered each morning. The facility was incredibly clean and I felt very safe there. The owner, Adrien, was so welcoming along with the other staff who all made my stay feel like home!

Casa da Madalena is an amazing place!! Adrian the host does everything to make each guest feel comfortable and welcomed! And the coffee???? They are the best pancakes I've ever had!! At breakfast we have a world on the table, different nationalities come together to chat and make new friends. Amazing place!! I highly recommend!!

Very hospitable hosts with a lovely well maintained hostel to go alongside it. The rooms are spacious and very clean with multiple bathrooms available as well. Comes with a great view from the rooftop as well as fantastic breakfast service and smiles all around. Great value for money and could not recommend enough!

Best Hostel I've ever stayed in! Feel's like a home away from home. Every aspect is beautifully done. The pancakes are incredible! Love being on the terrace looking out at the pier, you couldn't wish for a better setting to relax. Adrien and the team are so friendly and caring, you immediately feel part of the family❤️

Casa da Madalena is a lovely small hostel right next to the city center of Faro. With only about 20 beds available the atmosphere here is familiar. All guests get together in the morning to enjoy the amazing homemade pancakes for breakfast and to exchange tips, plan their days and make new friends. Hostel staff is around 24/7 to make sure everything is safe, clean, and all needs are taken care of. All team members are super friendly and go the extra mile to make you're stay comfortable and special, share local recommendations or make bookings for you. No matter if travelling alone or with friends, you can be sure to meet a bunch of friendly, like-minded people here! Make sure to save some time to spend in the hammocks available on the Rooftop, during the day when it's a perfect spot to escape the heat in the sun or at night with a bottle of wine. Wonderful place! Friendly, welcoming staff. Very clean Hostel with plenty if facilities available. The breakfast was amazing every morning. I would revisit here again and again.

The greatest hostel ever! Why? Its feels super welcoming, as the maximum occupancy is 16 people and you get to meet everybody at dinner/beer or breakfast. Breakfast is included and with delicious pancakes. The reception (open 24h!) is i the same place as the kitchen and living area so it's easy to socialize with both the lovely staff & guests. I meet some great people even though I stayed just one night, and even ended up travelling with one of them afterwards! Big thanks to Adrien & Anett :)

I hat a fantastic time at Casa da Madalena. Very serendipitous. The location in Faro is excellent. Walking distance from the beach, and bus station. The hostel itself has a beautiful roof, it's not too crowded, and everything is clean. I also went back a few days later to say hi and ask for directions and a printed boarding pass. All smiles upon returning. Highly Recommend !!!

The Staff is superb. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere and location is perfect. Stable WiFi to work as a digital Nomad and to watch Netflix.

Perfect stay. Stylish and comfortable room and roof terrace. Pancake breakfast was amazing, they even them vegan for us. Can't recommend this place enough.
