This
street,
this
building
is
incredibly
beautiful,
I
loved
it
today
because
this
side
is
never
visited,
I
took
100
photos.😃
Doğan
apartment
building
is
a
building
in
Italian
architectural
style,
built
in
1894
on
Serdar-ı
Ekrem
Street
in
Beyoğlu,
Istanbul.
It
was
built
by
the
Helbig
Family,
a
Belgian
banker
family.
In
1919,
it
was
purchased
by
cigarette
paper
manufacturer
Mair
de
Botton
and
his
brother
David
de
Botton,
and
the
building's
name
was
changed
to
Botton
Apartment.
The
building,
which
changed
hands
many
times
after
the
bankruptcy
of
the
Botton
Family,
was
last
purchased
by
Kazım
Taşkent.
After
Taşkent's
son,
Doğan
Taşkent,
died
while
skiing
in
the
mountains
in
Switzerland,
the
name
of
the
building
was
changed
to
Doğan
Apartmanı.
The
building
was
later
divided
into
51
flats
and
2
shops
by
Tashkent
and
put
up
for
sale.
The
building
underwent
significant
repairs
in
2001,
and
the
door
and
management
standards
were
upgraded,
increasing
the
quality
of
life
to
the
level
of
a
luxury
apartment.
It
is
one
of
the
buildings
worth
seeing
in
the
Galata
region.
