Its a super unique and amazing place! you won't expect that kind of miracle.. the area is very nice and has a lot of hotels to stay by (most of them by the water).. very calm area, you can do a boat activity and visit some hiking sites.. was very fun driving to there! worth the visit!

Un sitio encantador y hermoso, es impresionante tanto en foto como en físico. It is a magical place full of history. A sculpture integrated in nature to enjoy. Very beautiful and stunning. The places around to eat are pretty cheap. Highly recommended to take a route on boat to visit the cave.

It's an amazing place to visit. Set on the River Danube. Very popular attraction I just loved it there. Do the river boat and you can get an idea of the Danubes beauty. Few caves to pop in and see also. But to me this rock carving and the beauty of the Danube is something I will never forget. Amazing and a must vista.

A very interesting attraction that's worth seeing in the area. Its history and construction methods are quite surprising as well. If you can, try and book a tour on one of the smaller boats, as they will go under the bridge and get you very close to the rock face where the sculpture is. Also, on smaller boats the guides tend to give out more information about the area and the attractions. If you're staying longer in the area, you can also drive there in the evening, as the sculpture is lit after dark.

A very beautiful and unique place in Romania. I recommend the boat trip through Cazanele Dunarii and to Decebal statue. Also there are many other places to visit here like caves and peaks.

This is a shortstop but we thought it was worth it. There's no cost to see the site and you can get a view from the bridge on the main road or from the side road that is directly across the small waterway. There are lots of different vendors that will take you on a boat ride from here, but we didn't think it was necessary because we were able to get such good views of the sculpture without the ride.

Nice place visit during pass by. Great nature with big stone monument. The biggest one in Europe. Take the boat tour to visit it from close, check Mrakonja lake, Traian tabula, Ponkive cave and boat over the monumental views fron Danube. Super experience for a small change.

Worth to visit! An amazing sculpture in Danube river. Tip: it's getting quite crowded within the day, so I suggest you visit it very early in the morning, especially on weekends.

Very impressive sculpture in a natural limestone rock from the Carpathian Mountains. One of the main attractions of Danube Gorges. Must see!

We're going on a boat trip to see our former leader Decebal who has been sculpted in stone. They say it took 10 years for the work to be done and it is a sightseeing objective that many tourists visit as it is quite impressive.

Neat little sculpture on the Romanian side of the river. Interesting story. I won't rush out to see it again, nor would I base an entire trip out of going here (from the US) but the boat trip was cool and the scenery was pretty!

The best viewing point of the statue is from the bridge that crosses a small branch of the Danube river. There is a sidewalk on the bridge so is safe from the traffic. You can parc the car on the side of the road. There are a few vendors from who you can buy food and drinks.

Nice thing to see on the road, but not worth traveling to see it. There is a lot of people, boats, souvenir shops and it is hard to park. Admire it on photos 😁

A MUST visit (with boat tour) if it’s your first time to Romania or even local. Some of the most amazing views the country has to offer in my opinion. 10/10 enjoyed this!

We first saw the sculpture from the other side of the Danube in 2010, when we were traveling through Serbia. This time we were on a trip to Romania and were able to see the sculpture up close. Unfortunately, the creation of the sculpture did not include or foresee the arrangement of the space along the road for the multitude of tourists who stop here.

The drive from Drobeta-Turnu Severin to the sculpture is breathtaking. Gorgeous views of the Danube surrounded by mountains. The sculpture is very cool as well.

The view of Decebal rock is really amazing. It looks like he is still watching against Roman Emperor soldiers. The amount of work needed to make such spectacular sculpture simply amaze. Great respect for sponsor and author of the idea to do it in this particular place. I believe it is good way to awake tourism in this part of Romania and help enrich local people. Great thanks for amazing visit experience! Must see in Romania.

Magnificent, and for our luck unfinished work of art which makes it part of the surrounding rocks formation. Landmark of ancient Romanian history, going back to the last Dacian king the stood against roman empire expansion.

The sculpture although is impressive it is not finished due to lack of funding. The area is crowded and very dirty, the tourists are not civilized people and also the locals have their share in not keeping the area clean. I will not come back, not worth it.

It looks wonderful. Take a boat ride to really enjoy the full trip.. 30RON per adult is a great deal.

Cool feeling facing the rock carved statue of Decebal, indeed! Less cool feeling is to have your phone shifting into Roaming (Serbia - non SEE) and give VDF the opportunity to increase your bill with a 15Euro, 4GB data pack, automatically, while sharing the cool pictures you just took :(( Later VDF support, drop the charges - as we never left the RO-territory.

👍👍 Decebalova glava u steni poklon rumunskog emigranata.
