I was really worried after reading the comments here, but after staying here, I found out most of the comments are unfair. This is a budget hotel, and the expectation should be of the budget hotel. Yes, there is no AC, but while being in florance during summer, AC was not really needed. Yes, there is no elevator, and the building is old, there is a plumbing issue, but this building is from the 17th century and is located in the best spot for the train and the city centre. The staff has been amazing during our stay, and we definitely come back again for how nice and lovely the staff were

Worst experience ever. Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here. Really, I can’t stress this enough. The pictures they show don’t look like the reality at all. The odor was just plain horrendous, it smelled like mold and it got worse as you entered the room. There was mold on the ceiling and cracks everywhere. I never saw hotel staff in the hotel, so if you have an emergency, don’t count on them. Also, it doesn’t have AC and it gets really warm. They do have ceiling fans but it makes so much noise I thought it was going to fall off. I wouldn’t even stay there for one night. If I could give them a 0, I would.

Customer service was abysmal. Checked in very late at 10.30pm and were left no instructions on how to get to the apartment. Tried calling the emergency number provided by the hotel and no one picked up. When someone did finally pick up they were extremely arrogant and unfriendly and started shouting at us. This ordeal went on until 11.30pm until we decided to figure out by ourselves where to stay. The next day, we were shown the apartment we had booked (which we had booked with two large beds). Instead we were only given a sofa bed and one large double bed and the other room with the large bed was locked. When we complained, the receptionist told us that nothing could be done until the next day in view that only the cleaner had a key. Once met with an angry reaction, after two minutes she came back to open the room (a key mysteriously was found). Would honestly rate it less if possible. On the plus side, location of the hotel is great and the property was clean.

We went for 2 nights, probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. There was no one at the reception desk the entire time we were there so we had to walk to a random bar to collect the keys. When we entered the hotel room it smelt like sewage water. Our room looked nothing like the pictures at all, everything was old, tiles in the floor were loose, lots of cracks in the walls. Our bed sheets and towels were never cleaned once, despite us not being in the room during the day (thankfully). So I was very annoyed by this. And then when we went to pay he mentioned a city tax and charged us €16 for just 2 people for 2 nights. Later on I researched this and realised that it should have been under half of this amount. So to summarise the pictures of the rooms for the hotel are extremely misleading, the room smelled awful, there was no one there at the reception desk for the entire visit, no cleaning at all and on top of that we also got scammed with the city tax too. Also Google has this hotel listed as a one star hotel however on bookings its listed as a 2 star hotel.

Gerne wieder.

The rooms are big enough but the bathroom is very smaaall. Its location is a blessing; very close to railstation and you can discover the center of Florence with walking. It is a clean and safety place to stay. Thanks for everything!

Years later, still the most terrifying experience I had overseas. Terrible service, uncalled for rude comments about Americans "eating too much" breakfast, smells bad in most of the property; it does not look like the pics, screaming owners (or managers), no way of communicating or getting the authorities involved as they were trying to overcharge me, and the whole thing quickly turned into a dangerous situation. There's so much better for the same price in the area. Don't learn that last part the hard way, like I did.

Okey for what you paid, but our beds where two beds ut together and they slided apart during the night. The shower was broken, there was no shower door so it was replaced with a piece of curtains, which felt a bit bad. Half a roll of toilette paper and no refills, and since no one was in reception we couldn't ask for more.

The place was very clean in a very good location. The staff was nice and the last day they kept my luggage for 7 hours! But in the morning i could hear the people next to my room and noise from the corridor that waked me up. For 30€ per night i think it was ok.

If you're on a budget and just plan on sleeping and keeping your bags in your room, this place is ideal. They're pretty clean rooms, but not fancy by any means. Think i had the smallest single room, but it was everything i needed, shower good A/C and dual band wifi. The Location and service is by far the best aspect of staying here, very helpful and friendly with anything i needed . Would stay here again as long i wasn't traveling with picky ppl, because at first glance it can be discerning.

The location is good. But there are many mosquitoes in the room :(

The location of this hotel is great. You're within about a 15 minute walk to anywhere you want to be, and about 5 minutes away from the main train station, there's a laundromat about 3 minutes away which is good if you're staying long term. There's also a lot of great restaurants around. I highly recommend Trattoria Al Trebbio next door. The also put on a fairly decent breakfast, nothing hot, but basic stuff that fills you up for the start of the day. The rooms themselves are also quite spacious with high ceilings. This is about it for positives however. The rooms are dated, the bathrooms are often very dated and not always in your room (our bathroom was down the hall from our room even though it was private), the beds aren't very comfortable either. There are no lifts and the stairs are steep, the staff is also very unwilling to help you carry anything. Some of the stairs are stone and somewhat slippery as well. I did fall once. The staff was always polite when we dealt with them, but they never really went out of their way to help you. The place was clean to my standards though, so no issues there. If location and budget are the primary concerns for you this place is a good option. If style and comfort are your primary concerns maybe look elsewhere.

The room and bathroom is clean. It has all you need to spend a peaceful night. The mattress in my room was too soft - I think - and I wasn't able to sleep too well because of that. But I can't complaint for this price. All in all, it is good place to spend two nights.

The room was hotter than hadies. We confirmed they had ac before booking as we knew we were coming in the hottest part of the summer month. Upon arrival we found out the only source of cooling in our room was a ceiling fan that blue around the hot air already in the room. Opening the windows does not help and it is stuffy as hell. This alone made it a 1 star review.

Agree with other review saying most reviews are unfair. This is a budget hotel with extremely friendly service - took our bags up to our rooms. Nice rooms and bathrooms, only problems are poor WiFi and no air con, but the latter is advertised. Get over yourselves, Karens

Lovely hostel set in the centre of the old city of Florence, close to all the major attractions and sites. Place itself is clean, rooms are large enough and it has a wonderful management team. Easy to get to from the train station (about 5 min walk) and also from where the airport bus drops you off. Beds are comfortable. It's a quite place even though it's close to the centre. Highly recommend this as a budget stay

ALL BAD. DO NOT BOOK. ABANDONED HOTEL. ABANDONED ROOM FLOOR. NO ELEVATOR NOT GOOD FOR OLD PEOPLE and WHOEVER HAS LUGGAGGE. THEY LIE IN THEIR LISTING. GOING TO 2ND FLOOR MEANS 4 FLIGHTS OF BIG STAIRS. MULTIPLY THAT TO 4 if you are GOING 4TH FLOOR. YOU NEED TO CLIMB 16 LEVELS OF STAIRWAYS. ALL BAD. NEED TO CLOSE THIS PLACE. DIRTY AND DUSTY. We couldn’t endure staying.

Please stay away from this garbage, terrible service, busted doors that are held by 2 tiny screws, left immediately. do yourself a favor and stay at an Airbnb for the same price

The location is good, but the facilities are very outdated, and the bed mattresses are old enough to need replacing. The doorknob screw was loose and I felt like it would fall off soon, so I was anxious even when I locked the door. Accommodation too expensive for the price.
