Don’t believe the photos you see on the internet.. it’s a big dry hole that you cannot see from the viewing platform although if you ignore the warning signs you can scramble down to see a dirty puddle at the bottom. Don’t waste your energy unless there has been torrential rain for months.

The carst spring is a natural wonder. During our visit in May 2023, the pool at the head of the spring was non-existent. The walk up to the headwaters was very pleasant and shady on a hot, sunny day. The glaces stands were plentiful. The little town would have been a nice spot for a meal but we had brought our own picnic lunch. We were passing through the area which is stunningly beautiful. I am glad we made the brief diversion as we were nearby, but wouldn't go too far out of your way otherwise just for this .

Really nice place to visit to cool off. Largest spring in France and fourth largest in the world. The spring source was dry when we visited but we still enjoyed the short walk up.

Well … it is a beautiful walk with nice clear streams running down the valley ! The spring itself is a rather dirty on the surface with no desire to swim in it . The town is a bit touristy geared towards family visits . If you are spending time in the vicinity do visit, but I would not suggest a special trip.

Very touristy for a basic hike. More exciting when the water is coming out of the cave. Parking may be difficult.

Just a little 15 minute hike from the center where the source of the river comes from. A very special place.

Beautiful scenery. Easy path. Refreshments available along path.

A little bit commercialized for what I was thinking but still very beautiful and a nice walk up to the chasm. Unfortunately seems the water level is way down now and so it was basically an empty hole.

Easy and short walk along the nice clean green river with many souvenier shops, but at the end nothing to see. Nothing interesting, the source is dirty. Nothing extra.

Nice place, very turistic. A lot of suvenir shops, nice cave to see. Spring is not visible from last point, but many people just go buy it and have a look.

Beautiful short walk (even on a rainy day) along the lovely spring.

This is such a lovely place for an easy stroll with toddlers. It is very flat so I saw some French people push their kids on strollers too. On hot days, the breeze from the river is god sent. Soaking feet in the cool spring water helps cool you down. The only downside is that too many tourists...Can't be a bit too crowded.

Crystal clear water descends from the mountains and collects in a grotto at the base of the alps. Then it flows into a beautiful river - greenish from vegetation. A very pleasant place to stay.

Amazing water features. Beautiful spot with easy to walk path up to the source, although a fair climb. Excellent areas to sit & enjoy thr surroundings. Lovely little village.

We visited the place in June after a wet spring. So, enough water. The stream and the village are nice, however the walk next to the stream is less attractive because of all sorts of shops and stalls.
