Dishonest hotel - be careful when booking. I reserved a room for July 2022, 6 Months in advance and got a confirmation right away. In May, I was notified that my reservation was cancelled because of overbooking. It took them almost 5 months to realize that they were overbooked. Ironically, the day I was notified of the overbooking, the exact room was offered at 2x the rate I booked. Don't trust this hotel - they might just cancel your reservation for a better paying customer.

Aigle Noir cancelled our stay by saying they overbooked but in actuality they had the same nights available at a higher rate after cancelling our booking. Horrible practices.

Fontainebleau is must see chateau and a nice place to stay is the Aigle Noir hotel, charming rooms, nice staff all over, reception, cafeteria and room service. Pricing is adequate and the hotel in walking distance to the chateau, nice parking bellow street level, we strongly recommend.

We enjoyed a very pleasant and relaxing stay in a landmark historical hotel, renovated for most rooms and common areas, with an attentive team for the best of our interests and for the satisfaction of our requests. Indeed, we spent a revitalizing and charming weekend at the Aigle Noir hotel, with my partner. The hotel has been renovated so far for the common areas and the rooms for all categories except the first level / classic category. The renovated bedrooms are unique and genuinely in the style of the history of this unique hotel. The buffet breakfast room, soon to become also the restaurant (to be opened soon) is magnificent, with a very friendly and super efficient breakfast team. Globally, the staff is super friendly, always available to serve and meet your wishes or interests. You can always frankly talk to the staff, and they will do the best to satisfy any need or, if any, any issue, which is great. It is an amazing historical landmark hotel, so you should not miss it. We will be back soon for sure ! We had a couple ofissues, already and clearly discussed with the General Manager of the hotel, as regards some specific request and all issues were sorted out, in a very satisfactory manner by the very useful and friendly staff. I would like to sincerely thank the young lady in charge of the buffet breakfast team, super friendly, smiling, efficient and she would remember you and your room number etc. Amazingly efficient, along with her colleagues. We were lucky enough to enjoy personalised attentions in line with my ALL accor status, and very well surprised and welcome. However we believe towel holders should be added in the nice bathroom, in order to facilitate the drying of towels and to avoid replacing them. Indeed, when the towels can not dry, we need to ask their replacement and changing for dry ones. We also enjoyed a coupe of champagne at the Bar Montijo, in a very nice decor, very welll renovated with a super nice design, and a very friendly barman.

A beautiful boutique hotel in the downtown and practically in front of the castle... the staff was helpful and polite. Rooms are medium sized and the cleaning was incredible. What I liked the most was the breakfast with a huge assortment of delicious products. I stayed there in February 2019 and would love to come back. Perhaps in November. Recommended!

The "superbe" of the hotel was not there in our room : large room few furniture only one electric plug. The bath room suffer of defective shower and walls have cracks that tell more of the maintenance of the hotel.

I used this hotel to host a group of 16 who held meetings there during the day. So I had a lot of interaction with the hotel and it's staff. I'd say without exception everyone I interacted with was professional and engaged with their work. The hotel is a bit dated in some ways but it actually plays as sort of retro. Good breakfast. The wine machine thing I don't like. Otherwise it's a good hotel.

We had the room with view. Very old fashioned French style interior. Shower is designed a bit strange. Front desk always very nice. Breakfast is nice but often at 10:30, it’s a low stock...

This hotel just has 1972 written all over it. We were quite disappointed about the dated state of the rooms, bathroom and hallways. We asked for a different room because the first smelled like smoking and was so terribly dated I looked like it came straight from the set of the movie the shining. Second room was slightly better although still smelling bad, dated and not too clean either. Staff was friendly though. I'd look for an alternative when searching for a hotel in this area. Pics look nice but don't tell the whole story in my opinion.

This is an excellent small hotel elegantly furnished and extremely comfortable. Man of the rooms enjoy a view of the Palace. .There is a really good hot and cold buffet breakfast. Underground parking free for guests.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom had a nice stand up shower. This hotel is directly across from the palace and surrounded by restaurants. The staff was outstanding, very friendly and knowledgeable of events in the area. The breakfast buffet is worth the money in every aspect, it is a western style breakfast buffet serving savory options such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes etc. along with the typical French breads and pastries. Room service is catered by a restaurant next to the hotel, Le Bella Sera, which was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place and if we return to Fontainebleau, we will definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel, great staff and great location. My room was very comfortable and quite, which means good soundproof to consider it was 1st floor and windows facing the street. There is no restaurant at the hotel, only breakfast room. But there are several restaurants just nearby. Also consider there’s no private parking, and you cannot drive directly to the entrance - it’s pedestrian area there. But there’s big public underground parking just opposite the hotel building and as a hotel guest you get a discounted rate. In general it was a very pleasant stay.

Very nice hotel; rooms a little bit small, though...
