Great brunch spot just off Main Street. Excellent service and both our meals were under $18 dollars. Which felt super cheap for the high end feel of this restaurant. I highly recommend making a reservation for their brunch service.

Had dinner when I was in town. Our waitress was very friendly and guided us with our selections. They don’t have a big menu with huge selections that might be overwhelming. We order the cocktail drink called French Connection and the ladies enjoyed it. I thought the duck meat was a little tough overall. The bass was good and if they can go a little easy on the salt would be perfect for me. The ambient was alright and I would still go back.

in my mind, this is the best meal you can get in Columbia South Carolina. yet another wonderful dinner tonight. went with a work colleague who has never been here before. We had a delicious salad with strawberries and ripped ricotta cheese. dinner was the most delicious and tender pork chop ever. A side of absolutely amazing collard greens. dessert was an olive oil cake with whipped cream and fresh strawberries again.

Wonderful experience. Great service from Melissa. Incredible cocktails from Jake and team. Shrimp and grits was the one of the best my wife has ever had, which says a lot after living in Charleston for 8 years. I had the bone in pork chop and was not disappointed.

I had a nice lunch today at Motor Supply. I first ate here when they opened over 30 years ago. As they have changed hands their practices have changed. Today’s meal of shrimp gumbo was very good and a deviled egg separately purchased was good also. This was probably too small of a meal for lunch for most people though. In the past, they supplied bread per table but have since stopped that. In the past, they had a small side dish with each meal such as pasta salad, veggie, regular small salad etc.. That is not offered even as an upgrade anymore. So today if you ordered the gumbo plus their smallest leaf salad and a glass of tea, you would pay $40 for lunch with tip and tax included. This is high for most people as it would be a $80 for lunch for 2. Speaking of tip, my waiter, Playne, was excellent, fast and understanding!!! You coulded ask for better!

I just had the absolute best shrimp and grits I have ever tasted and I’ve eaten a lot of Shrimp & Grits. Blue Marlin is still excellent but #2. The Motor Supply blew me away today. My fantastic waitress, Anna, helped me decide which meal for lunch and she was on the money! This was a very unique shrimp and grits with creamy grits, shrimp stock, wild caught shrimp, thin slices of okra, fantastic mushrooms, grilled tomatoes and just the right amount of bacon and I’m sure some hidden ingredients. Wow!!! I will be back!

Everything about this restaurant hits the highest notes of fine dining. The location and valet service make it easy to access and enjoy worry-free parking. Hostesses are delightful, and the wait staff are professional and engaging. We truly enjoyed having Brandon as our server. The food and drinks were fantastic! With farm-fresh ingregients and chef-inspired creations, we enjoyed the best culinary experience since arriving in Columbia a year ago. Bravo, Motor Supply Team!!

First time here and love the concept of turning the old store into a bistro! It’s cozy and has a ton of character. Food was good and the restrooms clean. Personnel could afford to be a bit more pleasant (wait staff) but overall good experience.

I had a excellent experience at this reastarant! We visited on Saturday for brunch and the food was delicious. The grits & shripm were best I've had so far, and it was gluten-free, it was perfectly spiced and had fresh ingredients. My husband enjoyd his in-house made hamburger. We both appreciated the nice and hip vibe in the old-fashioned atmosphere. The service was friendly and efficient.

The food was great, but the service stuck out the most. We had some issues with the dish my wife ordered, but Caroline (our server) and Alex (the manager) were so awesome and helpful and quickly got my wife's food in order and made sure our date Sunday night was great! For a recommendation, when they have it, their pork chop and their braised short rib are amazing! Thank you for being so kind, attentive, and helpful!

Farm to table with a delicious flavor profiles. The food was great as was the service and drinks. Unique history of how it came about- the menu changes based on availability and they recycle the old menus as coasters. Will go back the next time I am in Columbia.

We visited for brunch and had such an amazing experience. Patrick was an excellent server who made us feel quite at home. The food was delicious and fresh, as usual. Easily the best spot in Columbia!

Absolutely hands down the best shrimp and grits I've ever had! Not only was the food delicious and beautifully presented, the atmosphere is both beautiful and comfortable! The service was slightly slower than expected, but, it was at the height of the dinner rush.

This place is amazing. The farm to table concept is always my favorite and these people absolutely nailed it. The black bass with crab is unique and delicious. The New York strip with the corn was on point. And props to our waiter Brandon. This guy was super attentive, detailed with the entree descriptions and recommendations. Give this guy a raise! Also, this spot has a great story from when it was first opened as a general store, to the 1930s original sign, pretty cool.

Food is a solid 6.5 to 7. The service was great. And the ambience is great for brunch or dinner. The devil eggs are not worth it. Great seasonal drinks.

Motor Supply is a decent place for good food. I think it's the ambiance that makes it a wonderful place to visit. Paintings on the wall are beautiful. The manager was really sweet and receptive to our needs. Everyone had positive things to say about their dinner. The main thing that was a concern was the portion sizes. For some, it's fine, but for men, it definitely leaves you a bit hangry.. I'd definitely go back for round 2 at Motor Supply.

The staff was friendly and the environment is really nice. I absolutely love the decorations and paintings. Our server was warm and knowledgeable about the menu, but I felt rushed. When I go to a fine dining restaurant, I want to take my time and enjoy every moment. I had to ask if there were any specials. I had to ask for suggested wine pairings. Overall she took good care of us. And my boyfriend disagrees. He felt the service was not rushed and she wasn’t annoying. 🤣 The food was good. Not the best, but very good. The menu is pretty limited. On the one hand, this is super nice… no overwhelming amount of choices. On the other hand, I definitely recommend you review the menu before going because it is so limited. We had the Scallops and the Beets to start. The Scallops were amazing. Definitely the best thing we ate. The beets were tasty, but they were almost raw, so they were a little hard to eat. I’ve never had them prepared this way. It was bad, but not my favorite. Entrees we’re the SC Shrimp and the Duck. I bought the duck was delicious and cooked perfectly. Very rich in flavor and the pairings were nice. The shrimp was okay. Topped the evening off with crème brûlée, which was delicious. They have some fun cocktail options and a great wine list. Overall, very nice place to go. My boyfriend wanted me to add he had the best cocktail he’s ever had. The Pineapple Express.

We drove through Columbia on the way from Asheville to Charleston. After taking a canal walk to stretch our legs and work up an appetite we found this well-recognized restaurant with an odd name. The service was a 5. Food was a 4.5. The patio is preferable to interior seating at the lunch hour but the local art on display makes it interesting. We appreciated the “reasonable” portion sizes and the generous selection of beers on tap and wine varietals by the glass.

Going to Motor Supply is a cross between being a local AND a tourist. It’s so well-hidden, you have to know a Columbian who can recommend it. But it’s so unique, we felt like we were on Vacation …. 30 minutes from home. Limited seating, highly attentive staff, and unique dishes all with very local ingredients make this a great spot for a special occasion with someone you want to impress.

Hands down one of the best date night dinners!! Absolutely love the farm to table menu. I had the Duck Duo and my husband went with the wreck fish. We shared the Rabbit Ravioli. Everything was outstanding. The service was delightful. I love when the waitress recommends a wine to complement your dinner. Highly recommend for date night if your looking for something better than just good! Can’t wait to go again.

Here on a work trip and sat at the bar because I’m a solo traveler. Courtney was a great bartender with amazing suggestions. I had the charred octopus, steak, and creme brûlée. Every one completely mouth watering!

You can make reservations online which I like, especially for brunch. The ambiance is so cute and chic. Love the space. Must gets: Bloody Mary, Deviled eggs app, and French Toast. My friend had the pork loin and it looked good.

From the pork belly to rabbit to wreck fish to grass fed steak, this was a absolutely phenomenal experience!!! Our server, Blayne, gave us great suggestions on cocktails and appetizers and everything tasted amazing! It is so rare to taste everything on a menu being well seasoned and well cooked. Highly recommend and will definitely come back again!
