Hotel staff was very friendly. Clean room. Just an older hotel that needs some updating. AC worked great and room was comfortable. No problems at all. Pool is small. Most importantly 🚫 bugs

If you have ever read a review of mine, you would know that it's fairly through. This review will not. It is more a venting or lamenting piece. I only need to add one picture to show the filth. I have come to the conclusion that hotel chains that charge under 150 just don't care about cleanliness. The mainstream brand names mean nothing. Wyndham, Marriott, and Comfort have given up. It is a national crisis. The more rooms they build, the more disgusting the rooms become. Beds not made, carpets that stink or smell, and hair everywhere are common in 2023. This place sucked in the cleanliness area. Not spending 150 or more, don't expect clean. Had 2 room adjoining 211 &213

While the name suggests that there should be a higher standard here, there wasn't. The front doors were broken, the staff could not speak English, I asked to be charged at the checkout so we could order room service they stated on the website, charged me up front. No room service available, side door was broken, door to the pool was broken, staff got annoyed when I asked if the side door was available so we didn't need to walk down the front stairs and around the building to get to our vehicle. As the side door didnt work I assumed it was my keys at first. It was super cold so I asked the family to wait in the car while I checked it out. Front desk told me to use the stairs or elevator and when I explained I needed to get my family she wasnt happy. Went to the pool, no towels and when asked at the front desk it took 10 minutes to get a towel. Pool was set at 60°, so another guest asked for them to turn up the heater. My family got in when it reached 80°. Saw that room 101 was condemned while we were in the pool. And other guests used that hallway, so for whatever reason that room is condemned is not preventing the hotel from using the rest of the hallway. We asked for more bath towels and it took the front desk 20 minutes to get them for us while we stood and waited in the lobby. One of the ice bucket liners had a hole so I asked for a new one, and accidentally shocked the lady behind the counter. It's winter, static.... and she screamed and yelled something at me in a different language. The room looked ok, with some broken equipment. The TV was incredibly blurry so we didn't use it. The curtains wouldn't close so we didn't get much sleep, as the outdoor light was super bright. The beds are also extremely firm so if you like a softer mattress pass on this place. I also incorrectly assumed as it was next to PRMC and Dupont hospitals the place would be nice. I'm not going to stay here again and won't recommend them to anyone. I would avoid this hotel, esp as the condemned room and broken front/side doors present health and safety concerns.

Average hotel with some improvements but falls short on safety. Electric light fixtures and plugs loose and shorting out. Smell of pot in the halls. Rocks propped open side doors and anyone can walk in. Room doors very loose and unstable. Parties all night. Very small rooms. Not very clean. Staff nice enough. In short, keep looking!

Staff were friendly and they did give us a discount for all of the problems. On-going problem with no hot water every morning. Reviews go back 6 months about this problem. Web site says hot breakfast with eggs. It's only cold continental. Only 1 ice machine and it was broken. Drink machine was broken. Sauna was broken. Duct tape around front door for some reason. First room tv did not work properly and air conditioner sounded like a thrashing machine. Second room fine but missing side chair. No one told us we had to request housekeeping services. wifi was slow and unreliable.

Room was small, but doable. Washcloths looked to be dirty, but can't tell if they're just older (either way if they are stained, they should get thrown out.) Breakfast was horrible. No protein (eggs) just waffles (I can't eat syrup so those were out), bagels, bread and pre packaged honey buns, muffins and nature Valley crunchy bar. There was fruit, but no protein at all was offered.

This hotel is clean and in a great location. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The rooms are nice and the hotel is near some great food choices. Its also nice and quiet here. I travel for work and I have never had a bad experience here. If you are going to stay in Fort Wayne I highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.

Great place to stay! Very clean , quiet and comfortable. I would have given a full 5 star review if hadn’t been for the hot water. It was Luke warm at best. If they could fix that one tiny issue it would have been in my top 5 to stay at. I look forward to my long hot showers.

Our travel time doubled due to horrible weather. We just needed to bed down for the night with our dog in tow. If your expectation is a bed, a roof, and clean enough, then it's fine. The walls and doors are thin, the heater stays on no matter what temp you put it on, so crack a window or be prepared to get up all night and turn it on or off. Vending machines were low on product too. Skip the breakfast. It served our purpose which was last minute overnight because of a snow storm.

Close to grocery and food options. Drive to the actual hotel slightly confusing, but manageable. Staff was pleasant. Morning breakfast good with decent options. Rooms were decent, one rooms sheets were dirty, but staff gave new sheets. **staff said he didn't know how to put on fitted sheet..... Hotel sign is tattered on one side... makes the property look less desirable than it really is. Overall we had a good stay.

Using my other gmail as I don’t feel like getting harassed. Mediocre hotel. Nothing special. It does the absolute bare minimum. Horrible wifi that cuts in and out with speeds slower than a snail. Hot water goes in and out and I’m currently here and checked the parking lot, there are about 5-6 cars and I’m 100% sure 1-2 are staff cars. The breakfast is an absolute joke and an atrocity. Corona hasn’t been a thing of worry in nearly a year, yet they still use that as an excuse for their grab and go breakfast? BS! It’s nothing but pure laziness. How hard is it to offer hash browns or eggs? “We’re working on bringing it back” dude bringing what back? They act as if there’s a shortage of potatoes and eggs like it’s Wagyu steak. Unacceptable. The white guy with glasses at the front desk has little customer service skills. The poor older Indian women I see all the time I feel so bad for. Slaving away while the manager, whom I presume is her son, is nowhere to be found. This is how a business is run when you don’t care about the business.

Absolutely NO HOT WATER ! We had five rooms booked for a family reunion and NO ONE had hot water the entire time. Called the front desk ..guy came up with WD40??? Was able to get hot water running for literally 30 seconds !! Second night ..same situation. Called the front desk..guy told me that they are aware of the situation (he was very polite..I was not ) but still no hot water ! They do not clean your room unless you request it.

It’s in north Ft Wayne so if you’re going downtown there’s a short drive. You are right on the interstate though so not too bad. Hotel is not going to win any awards but the rooms were clean and nice. Seemed understaffed (who isn’t) and a little disorganized. Morning breakfast was good, make your own waffles and such. Kids said the pool was cold bit it was a nice pool. Overall you won’t be disappointed but you won’t be blown away either.

Got our room. Turned air on and doesn't work. 82 degrees in room. Guy told me no other rooms available even though no cars in parking lot. Then told me it's hot and air can't keep up. Kept arguing with me about it. No it was throwing a code and not working at all. I'm from Texas and any place therecan keep up with it. They finally replaced it as I sat here in the heat and humidity. Will not come back here.

Clean rooms descent breakfast excellent service. For a budget hotel this place is very nice. Will be staying there again. Pool is clean and sauna is nice. Highly recommend. We were booked for a week but do to unforseen circumstances had to leave early. We were allowed a late check out and refunded the rest of the money.

They do NOT have bugs! What they do have is guests like the lady below looking for discounts! This was our second 5 day stay in the last three months. It's clean and comfortable. Much better than expected for the price! They just need to figure the ice machine out!

This place is an absolute joke. From the moment I walked in I had no help. Waited 45 minutes before anyone even showed up at the counter. When I expressed that there needs to be a better way to get someone's assistance, the man at the counter told me to get out and leave and made a whole deal out of something minor. Then 5 minutes into the conversation tried to upsell me on other things that made 0 sense. When i said i wanted to cancel He said he didn't know how to use the computers so there was nothing he could do anyway. I asked for a refund or even proof that I wouldn't be charged for this awful hour and a half I spent here. And he refused. I checked my account and 100 bucks was already charged. And the man refused once again to refund me. This place is a scam and a joke. If you have any self respect, stay somewhere else.

Some rservation snafus and a broken applioance but issues were resolved to my satisfaction. bBreakfast was limited and of mediocre quality at best. Property needs updating but I understand that renovation is to commence shortly. Staff and manager were great.

The management and staff are very friendly, helpful and make you feel at home. My room is very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and have returned. I am making it my home away from home while working here in Fort Wayne. The fitness room has just what I like. The location to shopping and restaurants is great and close to sightseeing as, well.

I have nothing to say but good things about this property. Very clean and housekeeping staff was professional and worked hard to keep things tidy. I found the owners very kind and caring, asking about my kids and checking on us at breakfast, making sure we had everything we needed. We stayed for a week while visiting family and have absolutely no complaints. Will stay again.

Old and didn't seem very clean. Bathroom had hair all over. Bed was fine. Room was small. Breakfast had no hot items. Just a few bagels and muffins. Won't come back.

Non smoking room Smelled of years of cigarette smoke. TV not working, no batteries in the remote either. Had to get manager to re hook up TV. No hot water. Kids running on second floor... from 10 pm to 4 am. We were on first floor. A/c barely worked. Breakfast was cereal, coffee, yogurt and stale cinnamon buns.

Stayed there on 07.27.22. Pitiful breakfast. OJ machine was out of service, and no hot food. Their offerings included cereal, bread, bagels, high calorie packaged muffins, and other sugary "treats". They did have yogurt. No butter for the toast. Pleasant staff. Will not go back.

Terrible, will NOT return. Just because their independently operated they think they can make up all kinds of rules. Which left us on a 9 night stay not getting our room cleaned until the 8th day... and then the house keeper went through our bags and stole $400 from one of my workers!! Worst customer service, bad hotel. On the plus side the bed was comfortable.

For a "smoke-free room" it becomes very smokey when the air conditioner or fan was turned on, which by the way worked amazingly for cooling the room but it smelled of smoke like no one ever changed the filter no one ever shampooed the floor no one ever repainted or wash the walls even in the bathroom there's no carpet the bathroom smell the smoke it was very gross and very damp feeling in the hallway like no air conditioning at all. But the hotel did take little dogs which was nice. But on the second night at the hotel my duvet cover had a huge hole in it and I thought that was really tacky the bed was very uncomfortable and even though it's a new mattress it had a huge sag on the side which I had to sleep almost upside down to get comfortable the shower whenever you turned it on made this loud siren like noise like a screech constantly it was very uncomfortable. And a half star is truly my rating, will never say there again. I still can't believe that this Baymont is part of the Wyndham family of hotels.

Nice hotel with nice inside pool. Our fridge was not working and they promptly replaced it for us. We enjoyed our stay here July of 2022. Only offered cold breakfast, 6 AM to 10AM, cereal, milk, coffee, fruits and yogurt, bread for toast. Ice and vending machine is on upper level only, can use stairs or elevator. Laundry on lower level.

The front desk staff was nice and the hotel was convenient for the funeral we were attending. At 4:45 when we arrived after a 9 hour trip our room was not ready. We stayed two nights. We never saw a cleaning person to get fresh washcloths or towels from, we only had two. No one came in to empty the trash. I wouldn’t recommend staying on the first floor, you can hear every door open and close and footsteps from both floors. It’s a pet friendly hotel, which we knew, one dog beside us barked most of the time we were there but especially at 11 pm 3 am and 6 am. The housekeeping didn’t empty the trash or make the bed. I am perfectly capable of making my own bed but I assumed that was included in the cost. I would stay there again now that I am aware of all the things they don’t do but I would ask for a lower rate.

We have to stay in hotels a lot due to my husbands work. We try to find decent hotels that don’t cost an arm and a leg. The price was great but the beds are horrible spring type mattresses that are hard and very noisy. The walls are so thin you can hear people just having a normal conversation in the next room so imagine how loud it is hearing people in the hallway. Also the front desk clerk told my husband where to park so we would be close to our room on the second floor and it was nowhere close. We don’t leave reviews that often but honestly we won’t be coming back. The beds alone are making us not want to come here again.

Will not be staying at this hotel again, nothing was as described, the so called breakfast consisted of an apple, the pool was not open even though they said it was, the room was super small, the staff seems highly inconvenienced when we asked for 2 more towels seeing as they only gave us 2 when we checked in 4 guests, the walls are super thin (could literally here everyone on the floor)! Just all around not a good experience. Hotels like this one deserve to be down on coliseum with the other Crack motels.

  • 2/5 Clayton T. 2 years ago on Google
The place was clean, but overall, not a great experience. The pool was closed, due to maintenance, but there was water in it and it looked clean. I asked them about it but they said it was due to maintenance and it would not be open the weekend we were there. It was disappointing because we had brought our kids there to go swimming during our stay. The breakfast was a few apples, a few clementines, some muffins, and maybe some granola bars. They had yogurt out on the second day. But they only had a few items of each. They had some coffee, but the juice was empty on the second day. It was also hard to park, because they did not plow the parking lot after the big snowstorm in January 2022. I think in this case, you kind of get what you pay for. Not bad for the price (minus the pool), but not what we were expecting.
