This time I went I got the nachos they were cold. That was a let down. I think all the cold toppings make the queso cold. I think if I get it again I'll ask for the Queso on the side and then pour it over my chips once I'm at my seat. So the cold toppings will be under the queso maybe that'll make it better. Tried the sweet chile shrimp tacos. Very nice. The chimichuri steak was just ok to me and the breakfast brisket cheesy potato taco was just ok Previous review:Thanks to manager Alana for encouraging me to return again and give you guys another shot after a bad first experience. This time my visit was better. I tried the Chicken and waffle. It was tasty just wish the waffle would've held together better but I'd get it again. Tried the #12 slow roasted angus ...was delicious! I like these cheese encrusted shell. Nice twist to it.

I strolled into Velvet Taco on a Wednesday evening, and lemme tell ya, I'm grateful these guys are open till midnight because I was as hungry as a grizzly bear with a hangover. I sauntered up to the counter and ordered myself three beauties: the number 2, the number 10, and I think I threw in the number 11 just to keep things spicy. Now, I'll be honest, I figured one taco wouldn't do much to quell my hunger, but man, I was underestimating the sheer content packed into these bad boys. They weren't just tacos; they were like flavor explosions in my mouth that made me question all my life choices that led me to Taco Bell before. The number 2? It's like they took a barbecue, rolled it up in a tortilla, and sprinkled it with magic. The number 10? It's like a fiesta in your mouth, and everyone's invited. And that mysterious number 11? It's a culinary adventure I'd gladly embark on again. So, if you're ever in need of some late-night love in the form of tacos, Velvet Taco is the place to be. Just be ready to be seduced by flavors and never underestimate the power of a taco. You'll find me back there the next time those late-night cravings hit, no doubt about it.

Loved it! The vibe, the food, the ease of it. While it has plenty of seating, this is not sit down. Order at the counter and wait for your name to be announced. These are not "traditional" tacos, but inventive and amazing use of the concept. With about 4-5 offerings in each protein category: pork, beef, chicken, veggie, there is something for everyone! Ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful. I tried two different tacos, the shrimp and brisket and couldn't decide which one I was more obsessed with. The elote was creamy and well balanced without too much of anything to mask the flavorful, crisp corn. Three hard drinks on tap and a large selection of canned beer, including many local brews. This is a chain, but doesn't feel like it, in all the best ways!

Good place for amazing tacos and nachos. Lots of flavorful options and varieties. Good vegetarian options like paneer tikka, cauliflower taco, mediterranean etc. We enjoy the hot sauces too! Wait time was reasonable and friendly staff. Located in busy area of Fort worth downtown and offers parking.

The velvet taco has some excellent and creative rakes on the classic taco format. The chicken and waffle taco combines crispy fried chicken with a pressed waffle stepping in for the tortilla. It has a sweet maple aroma paired with the savory chicken and sauces. The Mexicali shrimp taco is refreshing with fresh salsa and Baja sauce paired with seasoned shrimp.

Tacos were fantastic. The menu is diverse, blows away any other taco shop I have been to. Fresh ingredients and large portions compared to other places. The red velvet cake was great also. Not a ton of seating or parking but even when busy we were able to seat 5. Will definitely go back to try more.

It’s 2am on Friday night. Maybe you’ve been bar hopping - or just binge watching your favorite series. Either way, you’re hungry and you want good quality food - and this is just the place to get it! BTW, You don’t have to wait intil 2:00 a.m. to try these great tacos; they open at 11:0@am 7 days a week and close most nights at midnight. But regardless of when you go, the food is great, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the vibe is funky fun! I highly recommend their guacamole and for the tacos, be sure to try #12 and/or #21 (#21 is my fave). One note of caution: some taco content is very juicy. To protect your favorite shirt be sure to put the paper wrapper at one end of the taco as you lift up to eat at the other end. As you enjoy your meal, check out the fun signs scattered around the wall (mainly near the patio area). Near the entrance there is a large poster of Marie Antoinette eating cake - which raises the question: can a great taco place serve moist red velvet cake with icing that is just the right sweetness? The answer is: Yes, they can!!! PS As you leave the building, look to your right. There’s a cool scene painted on a building next to the Velvet Taco.

First time here, reminds me of a stripped down Torchy’s tacos. Stopped by for a late night snack after an event at Blackland Distillery. Ordered numbers 14.5 sweet chile shrimp, 7 the Cuban pig and 2 rotisserie chicken. The 14.5 was by far the favorite with the Cuban being a bit greasy for my taste. #2 is a solid chicken taco with a kick. Both 14.5 and 2 would recommend and come back for!

WOW. The tacos here are phenomenal. 5 stars without a doubt, between friends we all tried about 8 different tacos and everything was equally delicious. Chicken & waffles taco, picnic chicken and fish n chips were some honorable mentions. If you haven’t checked this place out you definitely should. Looking forward to returning soon!

From the moment you walk in, the staff are friendly but not overbearing. Had a few questions about the menu and the cashier was happy to help without making me feel stupid. Most delicious and original tacos. The flavor profile for each one was unique and flavorful. We tried four different kind just to get a feel of different flavors and meats and combos. The queso was good and flavorful and the blue corn chips were a nice touch that doesn’t seem pretentious in this place. Super delicious with friendly staff that are not so overbearing that you feel like you are being watched. 😂

I love this place! I’ve been here twice now and the food is still good. They have outdoor and indoor seating available. Gender neutral bathrooms and awesome red velvet cake!

3rd time we’ve been to Velvet Taco and it never disappoints. Great selection of tacos, including a monthly one-off special. We had several different tacos, including a veggie and a seafood, and they were (for the most part) great. The falafel was just okay, but the rest were great. Winners were the Chicken Tikka and the Slow-Roasted Brisket. We’ll definitely be back to try more!

I have an issue when I’m served a plain taco that has a huge chicken bone on top. It’s not like it was the fastest thing to get an order out here to not notice that. I’m not sure if he was the manager or not and didn’t catch his name he did rectify the situation and made me new tacos, so I commend him for that. My other tacos were delicious. I recommend the taco of the month while you can get it was a honey chipotle chicken. Also the beer bartered cauliflower was top notch. Their hot sauce could use some major improvements, unfortunately that’s gonna be more of a corporate call.

If you like a fresh craft taco this place is a good stop. It is a chain so think you can find them in Georgia but I’m not sure where else. They’re not really a street taco if you are looking for one. These craft tacos are tasty and full of flavor. They have tasty margaritas as well and a okay selection of craft beers to choose from but I usually just stop by for the a taco or two. One of my favs that I always end up choosing is the #3 spicy tikka chicken. It’s amazing! The chicken is battered, fried perfectly crispy and thrown in the spicy tikka sauce and it is spicy. It’s a slow growing heat but it’s so yummy, laid in a soft bed of rice under and drizzled with raita crema and Thai basil in a flour tortilla. The picnic taco has rotisserie chicken, avocado crema, warm honey-Dijon potato salad, crispy chicken skins, and cilantro on flour tortilla. Its tender meat is so flavorful and the skin is divine. So good. Another good one I’ve had is the #8 Korean fried rice, slow roasted super tender pulled pork. It’s hugged by a bed of gochujang egg fried rice and topped with tangy pickled onions, red chile ailoi, pineapples, cilantro and jalapeño in a flour tortilla. They’re just so yummy and a decent size. I also enjoy some elote on the side.

Fire! So many unique options. The Nashville hot tofu was bomb. I had the cheese masala taco and the flavor was good but not my favorite. I wish I had more room in my stomach to have more cause I wanted to try them all.

Being from California, there is no shortage of Hispanic and Latin flavors from the northern side of California to the southern end. On my first trip to Texas, this is where my friend took me to get a taste of the flavors with a twist. From the outside looking in, this location doesn't look like much. Parking lot is tiny and the storefront itself. But walking in, I was pleasantly surprised. The layout is perfect for the spot however the downfall is that it will get packed, so arrive early or prepare to wait until seating is available. But there is also outdoor seating as well. Everything on the menu looked great but we settled on four tacos: chicken and waffle, rotisserie chicken, steak, and the salmon. All of them were perfectly seasoned. I was really excited for the chicken and waffle and when it came out, very impressed with the shell which was in fact a waffle. The syrup on the chicken was perfect. The only thing I was upset about was that the shells broke apart so easily. This makes sense because the tacos were loaded and soaked with flavor. But the one item that stole my heart...now that's the appetizer, the one and only elote x chips with cheese. Great cheese with the sweetness of the corn and the saltiness of the chip. Genius. Definitely a must try. Not in Fort Worth? Don't worry they have locations in Atlanta, Illinois, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas of course.

I absolutely love this place. The staff are incredibly nice, the food is always flavorful and high quality, and you really cannot go wrong with any menu selections. My personal favorites are the Crisp Tots and Local Egg, shrimp and grits taco, Mexicali shrimp taco, brisket taco, and the cauliflower taco. Also, make sure you get their elote corn! To finish it all off, you can't go wrong with their red velvet cake (pic attached!). Special shout out to Madeline, Stephanie, Jason, and Luis for always providing friendly service and making our lunch/ dinner special. :)

Wow! What took me so long?! Walked over here while the wife had her nails done at Skyline. Soooo glad I did! Dined inside, it was crowded, but it comes in waves, and their fast with your order. The crowd is mostly younger, but us older folks were scattered about too. Plenty of tables inside, and they have a cool patio outside. Enjoyed the tunes while tipping back that beer, and that seemed to add value to my experience...oddly? I ordered the salmon and green chili pork, with a cold beer...and a slice of that red "Velvet" cake, (and you thought it was the tacos!?!?). My order was ready within minutes, and funny, but I sat there for a moment, struggling with which one to devour first. They were frickin gorgeous! So... I ate the cake first!

Outstanding just like the others in Dallas and Collin county except a bit smaller. Got one taco and the delicious elote sweet corn w/chips. More than enough for me. Surprise visit as in the area for the day and had only short time for lunch which one of my classmates knew about. Limited parking our front during lunch hour.

Late night spot after going out for drinks. Service is quick even when it’s busy. Food is fresh and good if you like the Americanized tacos. The place can get hot inside when there’s too many people

Do I want the large margarita on the rocks? With an extra shot, rimmed with Tajin? Tacos? Why, yes! Beef, fish, chicken…blackened shrimp???? Yes!!!! And, keep it coming…. You can’t order the wrong thing here. Your only mistake will be not coming back until you try everything.

Velvet tacos is by far our favorite taco place. Our family favorite is #12 and the elote. The ingredients are always fresh and everything is made in house. The tacos are very large and filling.

First time at this place and it was great! I had no idea what to get, but this really friendly guy made some really great suggestions and it was so good! I wish I got his name, but he was a manager, bald, I think Mexican. Great guy! Really knew his stuff. Glad to find a place where the customer service hasn’t gone downhill these days. This is a new regular spot for us!
