They introduced a 30$ minimum spending with card at the bar, which means I cannot go and get a drink for myself, or even for me and a friend because we will be still short of that amount. They know peoples don't carry cash nowadays, so its a clear manoeuvre to make people drink more and spend more than they want. Ridiculous, and should probably be illegal too. Shame on you.

Great club for a fun night. It is quite trashy though but it never stopped me going there when I am visiting Melbourne. 😁 Cover fee = $25 Buying drinks with card? Prepare to spend at least $30. That is the minimum spend with EFTPOS. Bring cash better.

The security guard who introduced himself as Jase , the Manager, asked very personal and racist questions and finally did not let us in as we were holding the DIGITAL OFFICIAL NSW DRIVERS LICENSE which is recognised nationally everywhere. An evident discriminatory experience.

Overpriced, rude, and snobby. One employee kept trying to sell me poppers even though I clearly said I wasn’t interested and was there to just dance. Highly inappropriate and also, frankly, illegal.

Haven't been here but have a few things to say in response to some of the other reviews. 1) too all the straights complaining about getting hit on by straights; duh!! Why don't you all go to straight clubs and leave our spots for us. If all the straights did that then on the RARE occasion a straight person comes they won't get hit on by other straights! 2) a high cover fee followed by high drink prices is totally unacceptable. It should be one or the other.

A place that is falling apart and has the rudest management team. A person was injured with blood gushing out due to the ball falling on him without even being touched. The management instead of attending to him blamed him that he would have touched the ball. They should be sued for insurance and poor handling.

The bartender upstairs was very disrespected. Many attempt to order the drinks but he couldn’t make me properly. If you want to have some dance with good atmosphere, this is the perfect place to come. No problem with the price tag of 25$ for entry but the service must be improved seriously.

I definitely see myself coming back, or though it was a spot I decided to come to on a whim after another venue was closing I felt openly invited and felt at home. The staff are amazing and keep the party going while being quick and friendly, the price of drinks are quite standard but pretty good for a club and overall I would encourage anyone no matter the way you identify to come to have a great time.

This is a must experience no gay man wants to miss. The toilets have a unique design where there are two entrances, one leading into the basin area and another leads straight into the cubicle area, by which there are three private cubicles. This design allows for the surprise guest to enter in the hope of securing some action.

Nice club. Music may be improved. When the crowd was less, DJ resolved to techno, which is just OK but not as much fun.

$25 cover charge, then downstairs they play heavy techno/edm music. They herd people like cattle downstairs until 1am and when they open upstairs you've got to line up again for ages to get in where the music you actually want to listen to is played. Badly organised and annoying.

Misogynist and banal place with bad pop

I would say it’s ok. Since I’ve been going here several times now. My only concern was too crowded on one party area upstairs that you can’t even moved. People are struggling getting in and out. Floors are wet so be careful. Music downstairs are boring that’s why people Are all upstairs. Drinks are pricy we know that. And entrance fee, lucky my friends are paying for me or else I won’t go there. Security guards are nice, maybe if you look decent. And the staffs too. They even gave my friend a drink voucher because it’s his birthday. To sum it up, it’s quite good. You just need a lot of money tho and hold for your dear life. Only one fire exit upstairs.

HYPED UP FOR? NOT MUCH A bar that does exceptional at marketing itself and has a great name for itself, so the expectations might have been a little high.... but was highly let down. Not entirely sure what all the fuss is about for this place. Drinks are fairly expensive, music is Trance/EDM ish, or it was on the evening I visited. Which left huge gaps on the dancefloor. With the stamp coming in the door a ploy I assume stating full, to venture inside and pay a cover charge (which usually I'm totally ok with) for only to find that the place is far from full was a bit disappointing to say the least. Seems like it could be a great bar and the spaces they have are great but very underutilized it seemed. But for the cost to enter for disappointing music and overpriced drinks, it's safe to say I'm glad I experienced the bar and fulfilled my intrigue in what the hype is all about. But it is highly unlikely I will make a return anytime soon.

STAFF STEAL YOUR DRINKS SO YOU'LL BUY MORE. $41 for 3 drinks; is that normal? I think NOT. Also a $20 covercharge. And I told them I was leaving them a bad review, when they wouldn't replace my drink, after I brought it up. I had two drinks stolen; the first was near empty, but the second was half-full - and there's no mistake about it. If it's not in your hand, they'll take it. I ended up standing around with my hand *over* my drink so it wouldn't get stolen, and had it nested right up against my coat and bag. I was pretending to have a good time, because it was my friend's birthday, so I was dancing on the spot, and took my hand off my drink for 10 seconds and it was gone. I won't ever go back; it totally killed my vibe. Also, too many straight guys were hitting on me for a gay club; lots of leering, too.

Incredibly poorly managed and organised for a venue that charges Melbourne’s highest drink prices. ATM broken and the 60 minute queue for the cloak room is still cash only like it’s 1998.

Best Gay Nightclub if you’re wanting to dance until 6am. Main floor bar is more of a house techno vibe. Upstairs bar is where you can listen to some Cher and Carly Jepson. High cover charge but that’s what’s expected on Chapel. Conveniently located next door to Maccas. 10/10 recommend checking this spot out.

The vibe is for the cooked so come prepared for banger EDM and dancing, if that’s your vibe you’ll love it. If you want somewhere respectable with an appropriate amount of toilets and intimate social spaces this is not your place. Also the place seems sexists because the bathroom is feral and not useful for someone who needs to sit to pee. Definitely does not cater to a wider LGBTQIA scene purely on the venues accessibility and targeted customer clientele.

Studio 54... not what I expected very disappointed to go there and dance to 80s music when studio 54 was about the 70s disco... they played some but mostly 80s and to have your drinks served in plastic glasses they did not serve cocktails and to go to the ladies toilet finding 5 women in one toilet smoking cigarettes absolutely disgusting not impressed at all...
