✩ We arrived at 4:30pm for our booking on a Saturday. Staff were prompt and showed us to our table. ✩ Staff kindly showed us how to order from the menu via the QR code. We thought that this was very efficient, as we could order food to start off with, then continue ordering if we were still hungry later onwards. ✩ Food came out promptly and tasted delicious. All the meats and condiments were fresh and tasty. We appreciated how the condiments were 'bottomless' and how the staff were happy to replace them for us. ✩ Overall, a wonderful experience. Was a little on the pricier side, but we would still be happy to return here, in the future.

We are given 1 and half hour for the lunch. The staff are attentive and the ordering system is very efficient and easy. As we are non beef eater, the choice of BBQ meat is very limited and the texture is quite bland and hard to chew. They top up the Side dishes if needed and choice also limited

My family brought me at this beautiful Korean restaurant in the city for my birthday treat. Such a cozy restaurant with spacious seating arrangement. Food was yummy authentic Korean with a twist, mouth watering wagyu was the fave of all…adult kids have been going back to this restaurant with their friends and guests. Needs booking ahead of time. Waiters are all very attentive and cheerful. Fast service too! Yum and tummy full. Will recommend and back.

Tried the woosamgyeop jungsik to take away. It was great even outside of the restaurant setting with lots of variety and nice flavour. The imitation crab was way way too sweet for my taste and there could have been a bit more meat but overall it’s a good dish.

Easy to order, amazing food and a great way to enjoy BBQ. My favourite was the Woo Samgyeop. The meat for this cooked so quickly and was really yummy with the garlic and thinly sliced green onion salad. I would also recommend the Wagyu - superb.

Delicious food (good value for money), we ordered three meats for three people and it was enough to make us feel content but not sickly full. At the moment, due to the lettuce shortage, they only offer a dressed salad (and not plain salad leaves). Staff were attentive and replaced our grills multiple times and we were able to call them when we wanted to replenish the side dishes. Definitely book ahead (do it via their online booking link on Instagram)

I have heard many have put their heart to this restaurant when it comes to K-BBQ. Now I understand the reason, and yes, I also put my heart here. In terms of taste, there is no question. The beef quality is great, and what I love is the banchan selection. The place is really nice, the price is decent, and the staff is helpful and knowledagble.

First time in a Korean BBQ and it was perfect. Would definitely come back! The service was super fast and extremely attentive (explained and showed how to build the dish). The food was amazing. You can tell the meat is top quality, the charcoal they put on the table really adds to the already rich flavors. All the different small dishes they bring out in addition were excellent as well. Highly recommended.

Fantastic. The self serve station for sides is amazing as you can continually stock up on that kimchi and pickled radish. It’s spacious and the interior is nice. The service was good and they often replaced the cooking pan which showed that they were quite attentive. Prices are reasonable. The main stars are the marinated beef. All the meat choices were amazing and I think it’s one of the better ones in Melbourne. What I think is often overlooked is that they use coal to heat the pan which gives the meat flavour and keeps it nice and juicy. Worth a try if you want a taste of Korea

Amazing place for kbbq with plentiful sides. The kbbq meats were excellent and flavourful. The wagyu yesan tteokgalbi was mediocre. The cold noodles was nice and refreshing. The corn cheese was great. The sides are plentiful and they have a sides station where you can serve yourself more sides as you please. Expect to spend ~$60 for kbbq per person here.

Lively environment with quick and efficient service. The self service side dish bar is something I haven’t seen in a non-all-you-can-eat setting, but appreciated. Meats are good quality and range is reasonable.

@bornga_aus 📍 This popular OG Korean BBQ has been around for a while! 💓😸👍🏻 Conveniently located in Chinatown it is an upstairs venue that is spacious with Korean Hanok inspired decor. Love the meats and unlimited side refill station! 💕👌🏻🍢🇰🇷 Legit spot and authentic flavours over a charcoal grill. All the meats were of high quality- loved the marinated flavours ($26-33 a plate ish) 😸. Lots of helpful staff here too. Pricing is in the mid range. 👌🏻💕 all the unlimited sides dishes were yummy too! 😋 thoroughly enjoyed the cold noodles ($22) , hot stone bibimbap ($25)! 👌🏻🍢💕

5/5 - I had the most wonderful time at Bornga! Firstly, free side refills - sign me up!! The service was wonderful, the food was amazing, and I loved how everybody had smiling faces. Would definitely recommend for a great night with friends.

Hands down the best Korean BBQ restaurant in Melbourne. I have been here so many times and it's always consistently amazing. You will be paying a premium however the quality of meat is out of this world. You also get endless side dishes which takes up your whole table. They are very generous with their refills, I could probably eat my weight in potato salad.

We made a reservation with seven people. The food and quality of meats were delicious, albeit a little pricey. I did not check out the self service side dishes as we were put in a private room with plenty of space and aircon as kbbq tends to get hot and smokey. The staff constantly checked up on us and we left feeling extremely full and happy.

After reading rave reviews about Korean BBQ, I decided to give this place a shot before heading to a show. And let me tell you, the reviews were spot on – it was hands down one of the best Korean BBQ experiences I've had. From the moment you step in, you're welcomed with genuine warmth, and the customer service remained exceptional throughout. It's evident that they use only the freshest, highest quality ingredients. The selection of vegetables, salads, is extensive, and the best part? They're unlimited! The quality of the meats was absolutely outstanding, hands down. The restaurant boasts an elegant ambiance, with carefully curated decor, soft lighting, and comfortable furnishings. The music was at just the right level – allowing for easy conversation with dinner guests. I highly recommend booking in advance; it's no surprise people were being turned away. Good range of drinks to chose from and decent prices. I'll definitely be returning whenever the occasion calls for it. Great location, great food – what more could you ask for? Food Quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 4/5 Value for Money: 4/5 (The food itself was value for money but also had to pay $20.00 in public holiday rates and also a card surcharge). Cleanliness and Hygiene: 5/5 Innovation and Uniqueness: 5/5

Outstanding experience! One of the best Korean authentic BBQ in Melbourne! The meat is so delicious and so tender and they have many self-serve small dishes for free. Authentic experience with charcoal BBQ and they even change the grill depending on the type of meat you order to cook. Customer service is good, we felt welcomed and they are very attentive to details and they don't cook for you unless you want their help. They also have different dishes like cold noodles and seafood pancakes which are very good! The price is fair for the service and quality of food. I definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to enjoy an authentic KBBQ.

Bornga is always been my favourite Korean barbecue restaurant. I wish I can give out 10 stars. Unlimited side dish and lettuce at refill bar. Good portion and great quality, very juicy of Wagyu. Good service- always change your grill, make sure you have clean grill for different meats. they do charcoal grill as well. The meat taste 10 times better.

One of the best KBBQ experiences I’ve had! We ordered both pork and beef, both were tender, high quality and flavourful. The barbecue gave the meat such a nice charcoal flavour. I really liked the Woo Samgyeop which was a really tender and thinly sliced brisket, it is the restaurants signature cut. The marinated wagyu finger ribs and marinated pork belly were also really delicious as well. Bornga also provide unlimited banchan, which was so nice compared to London where you have to pay for the banchan 🙄. The kimchi is incredible, really well seasoned and has good level of spice and acidity. The sauces that come along with the barbecue are excellent too. I really like Bornga’s signature bbq sauce. Service was a bit slow towards the end of the evening, but that wasn’t an issue. The atmosphere is quite loud, but that didn’t detract from the experience. Would 100% recommend Bornga. I’d say it’s a must visit for anyone visiting Melbourne.

Easily one of the best kbbq I've had so far in Melbourne. The service is nice and quick. And the sidedish refill is great. The staffs are friendly and the atmosphere is great too. While I did get a walk in table I would highly recommend booking a table, cause they seem to be very busy (and popular).

Nice and fresh ingredients with unlimited side dishes and lettuce which are the best to wrap your meat up. I strongly recommend you to try Japchae, the super yum noodles dish that was too good to make me forgot to take a photo. The staff were very nice and helpful. Will definitely come back!

Good meats and superb flavours. The cucumber cold soup is so refreshing. Staff are very attentive. The direct to kitchen ordering system is brilliant. Get very busy around 7pm. The ambience is upmarket. We had a booth so it was easy to have a chat with mates over the BBQ. Keen to head back for some of the other classic dishes.

First time having Korean barbecue and it was an amazing experience! Fortunate that a Korean was dining with us otherwise we will not how to barbecue Korean style. Try also the traditional pancake which was excellent. Price was reasonably considering the amount of dishes we ordered, approximately $40 pax.

Overall, it's very good. I like their veggie plate the most. It's very fresh and goes very well with beef. Also, they use charcoal instead of gas stove which give u another touch. Thumbs up.

Good food and meats. The pancake here is great too. Free flow of the vegetables and condiments but don't expect them to help you cook or get you extra condiments. You have to do it yourself!

Great setup, fantastic quality ingredient and great service. If you are a bbq fan, this is a fantastic place to try the Korean BBQ. We were told there normally is a queue but we came between the meal time and walked straight in. Most important the ingredient are fresh and good quality. The vegetables, an additional option, are plentiful and the kimchi are delicious. A fantastic place for any bbq fans.

Dined at Bornga in Melbourne CBD and was thoroughly impressed. The quality and variety of meats were top-notch, grilled to perfection at our table. The side dishes were authentic and replenished generously. The ambiance was cozy with a touch of Korean flair, making it perfect for both casual outings and special occasions. Service was prompt and the staff were extremely friendly, ensuring we had a memorable experience. Highly recommend to anyone craving authentic Korean BBQ in the heart of Melbourne!

The food here is fantastic and they are very happy to accommodate a big group. They also use a very good way of ordering through the phone, which makes it easier for everyone to order and they get everything very quickly to the table. The problem is at the end, as you can't split the bill. Also another thing that we didn't like was that they are very strict with the time slot you have, for a big group of 12 people, we only had 2hrs. Which doesn't make it very enjoyable.

This place pops off! I love my KBBQ. If you have the time and a bit of budget to go here, do it. From just 2 people to a larger group, the tables are well suited to any. PANCAKE IS A MUST! The meats I really enjoyed, just an extra level of quality I found, great marbling. Beef and the pork was so good, Love the kimchi. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, sweet as food. Though here, they don't come around and cook it for you, which is fine. But worth noting if comparing with others that do. Wish I took more photos but too busy chowing down.

Delicious food. Be prepared to wait if you don’t have a booking. Pricey but delicious food. Will be back again for the cheese corn!!

Top notch Korean BBQ. Immediately falls into my top three in Melbourne. Excellent cuts of marinated meat. Self-service side dishes were generous, with the kimchi packed with a punch. The delish yet filling side dishes makes this the best value BBQ in town. Service was prompt and attentive. The soft toned coloured room and wood grains made the ambience relaxing. Would not hesitate to come back.

Visit this K-bbq restaurant everytime I come back to Melbourne. Needless to elaborate as the restaurant is always packed and fully booked. The side dishes are as closed as what you can get in Seoul. Love it ! Quality meat and ingredients!

This is THE BORNGA. 🥩🍗🍖🍻 Amazing food and side dishes - very authentic. Exceptional customer service. Ensure to make reservations prior. Could be a little pricey compared to other KBBQ but quality is simply incomparable.
