They don't allow people to get inside. I was with my dad in simple formals year August 2017. At the entrance they said you Have to do booking for getting inside, they judge people by their clothes don't allow them inside. In 2018 I visited alone. Then they allow me. Because I was in branded clothes. Very disappointed with Taj Mumbai.

I booked it for a good friend to surprise her for her birthday. It was amazing. The hospitality team was really helpful in setting up the decorations and the table. Loved it. Breakfast buffet at sea lounge restaurant was amazing. The view from there was the highlight. For breakfast buffet at this restaurant, please dress properly or they send you back. They are very strict about dress code. In room we ordered food from golden dragon, which is again inside the hotel only. It wasnā€™t that great. They donā€™t allow outside deliveries inside the hotel and yes they are very strict about that too.

We stayed for one night in March 2021. We have traveled extensively but never before experienced this level of quality and service. Every part of the experience seems to have been choreographed to meet the needs of the guests. From the welcome to departure the service and hospitality from all staff sets this hotel apart. Choose a sea view room to marvel at the boats and Gateway of India. Food was very good, specially the breakfast buffet which had a variety of options and the manager made sure we didn't have to wait during the breakfast buffet. He also went an extra mile to make truffle eggs available. We had a great time, thank you.

Indians are literally treated like dogs here. If you are not wearing expensive clothes you will be judged from the security guard till check out. I work in the offshore oil rig and not in Corporate office so obviously I will have dirty clothes at the end of the day. I was charged 25k rs deposit for one night stay. Judged, treated badly in almost every condition due to appearance. If you are indian i will suggest please look for Marriott, hyatt or any other foreign hotel groups. IHCL is filled with judgmental employees

This Hotel Is always best for me, because everyone is know about Hotel Taj, that's why I will not explain you about Hotel taj. You should visit Hotel Taj for feel and to get experience. Actually if anyone visited in Hotel Taj, they can explain everything but if anyone want to visit Hotel Taj, then don't read any review, you just visit to Hotel Taj and then decide how was the experience.

Lovely place to visit šŸ’• There is a certain emotion looking at the hotel, even if it's from the outside. Opposite to the hotel is the Gateway of India. Got to be there to really experience the feeling. Did you know that this hotel is among the very few buildings that have trademarked their design? The legendary Taj Mahal Palace situated in Mumbai is acclaimed as India's first luxurious hotel. This flagship hotel of the Taj group lets you witness a fascinating blend of old-world charm and modern facilities. This architectural wonder also offers spectacular views of the Arabian sea and the Gateway of India. The meticulously planned luxurious rooms with lavish artistic interiors make it one of the best hotels in India.

Everything is good except service. Every people in India dreams of staying in Taj hotel, Colaba and there if u need to drink water at Lobby, they will show u their restaurant for the water. This kind of service is there, Room service is also very time taking job. Personally I m highly disappointed with its service

The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai (Colaba Causeway) Your stay will be genuinely unforgettable thanks signature experiences like the afternoon tea at Sea Lounge and private meals at the Chef's Studio. The first luxury hotel in Mumbai boasts 11 freshly renovated halls and locations that are perfect for events including formal meetings and lavish weddings. The Ballroom is ideal for conferences and lavish private gatherings because it can accommodate 450 people. If you want to entertain in elegance, you may choose a private dinner or yacht party. Golden Keys Concierge can handle all of the needs in the city. As well as a thriving arts and historical feeling with must-see museums, galleries, synagogues, and cathedrals. It takes an hour to get to the airports. They have 9 of the city's most respected restaurants and bars, known for their mouthwatering cuisines from India, Europe, the Middle East, and the Orient, for those who want to enjoy exquisite dining in style. Masala Kraft serves up real Indian food, Wasabi by Morimoto serves up famous Japanese dishes, Souk serves up superb Eastern Mediterranean fare, and Golden Dragon serves up Chinese food. At Shamiana, you may eat all day while selecting from a diverse selection of decadent sweets at La Patisserie. At Mumbai's Aquarius poolside restaurant, relax with a light supper, then stop by the chic Harbour Bar. In 1903, Mumbai, then Bombay, saw the opening of the Taj Mahal Palace, becoming the nation's first harbour icon. The elegant Gateway of India is visible from the freshly trademarked flagship hotel. This storied hotel in Mumbai, which is regarded as a global leader in hospitality, has hosted monarchs, dignitaries, and famous individuals from all over the world. Each of the 285 rooms and suites is a remarkable combination of classic elegance, extensive history, and cutting-edge amenities. The Taj Mahal Palace is conveniently located near Colaba Causeway, which is well-known for its tourist-friendly little roadside shops. It is also close to Mumbai's most important historical and commercial district. The city's financial sector, parliament, stadium, business and retail areas, as well as a thriving arts and history scene, are all conveniently located nearby.

One of the best hotel in the world. Little bit expensive but value of money. I have visited gateway of India but never entered into this hotel. But I'll edit this review when I'll be there. It's beautiful from interior and from outer look. You'll get best sunrise view from the balcony. Mostly tourist visit this place. I would prefer to visit in rainy season because the beauty of this place in rain increase. You'll get better shopping options over there.

View - Absolutely Wow. Ambiance- Vintage Interior. Pleasant and peaceful atmosphere maintained Staff Behaviour - Superb. Politely handle the situations. Service -Excellent Shamiana- We tried high tea @ shamiana. Not good experience. Food items served with high tea were tasteless. Need to improve. Masala craft- We had dinner @ masala craft. Didn't find extra ordinary. Limited menu available. Taste is not up to the mark. Breakfast - Well arranged. A variety of breakfast items provided like fruits, bakery items, cakes, south Indian, Italian, north Indian... overall all good. Except the meal was a good experience.

Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, founder of the Tata Group, opened the Taj Mahal Palace, a hotel in Mumbai (formerly called Bombay) overlooking the Arabian Sea, on 16 December 1903. It was the first Taj property and the first Taj hotel. There are several anecdotal stories about why Tata opened the Taj hotel. The Taj Mahal Palace is a heritage, five-star, luxury hotel in the Colaba area of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, situated next to the Gateway of India. It is India's first hotel to have electricity, American fans, German elevators, Turkish baths and English butlers. Mumbai's first licensed bar - the Harbour Bar.

The BEST.....or maybe something which is undefined. The History, the legacy of the Tatas', the hospitality, the courage to be standing that tall and redefining luxury in a different and passionate manner. The benchmark of the Industry. You would have to be there to realise the pride you carry while you walk inside. One needs to earn the experience. Has to be The one Iconic structure in the Opera of Bharat playing gently the beautiful notes about its presence to where it is. Amazing. Simply Amazing.

Elegant and sophisticated as ever. Just a bit crowded at times. Fantastic restaurants with various cuisines. The most beautiful parts of the hotel is the porch facing the poolside and the grand staircase leading to the Harbour Bar and the first floor

We had a pleasant stay and the hospitality was top notch. Special mention for Mr. Nair (Security Head), I had lost my gold ring in the room, he was very cooperative and made sure there was a thorough investigation done for the same. Highly impressed with his way of dealing with things. Thank you for making our stay memorable and special.

The only issue we had was upon our arrival. The lady at the front desk was impersonal and perhaps a bit rude. Apart from this lady, the rest of the staff was helpful and very friendly at all times. The facilities are amazing, enjoy them. Also, there are many excellent options for dinner. Breakfast has plenty of Indian and western options. Brewed coffee was very nice. I found a very welcoming corner "The Artist Corner" (I think it was named) where you could sit to draw at a very cozy location and surroundings.

Not only was the hotelā€™s architecture and rooms beautiful but mainly the staff was absolutely amazing. The customer service was extraordinary, from all the hotels Iā€™ve been around the world including in Europe, South America, etc. the service at this hotel was unbeatable. One specific staff member, Nagnath, did the most he could to provide us with a perfect stay. I have to say every single staff member in the hotel tremendously elevated my experience here. I will for sure come back, specifically to once again experience that customer service that I will not to able to experience anyplace else across the world.

The best service Iā€™ve ever experienced in any hotel! Try to go for the sea view rooms and avoid weekends if you can. Weekends are super crowded in and around the hotel. Most people just come in for window shopping & checking out the place. You are better off enjoying the hotel facilities vs stepping out, unless for trying out eateries.

We had been there (Sea Lounge) for their buffet breakfast and the first thing we encountered there was a queue to get in which was surprising. Please donā€™t go if you arenā€™t a resident, guests are treated with 2nd priority. The restaurant manager could have clarified this upfront and spared us the wait with few senior citizens and a 4 year old. I was hoping my 1st interaction with Taj Palace to be better than this.

Visited the hotel for a banquet event we hosted here last week. The sheer grandeur of the property is breath taking. Itā€™s such an iconic hotel and walking through its corridors after seeing it only on TV was a very memorable experience. The staff were great & very friendly. The ballroom was excellent with a very elaborate spread themed around our event. They have a massive swimming pool which is overlooked by many rooms & the view from one entire wing of the hotel is the sea & the gateway of India.

Always a pleasure coming here. Thereā€™s just so much history attached to this place. The decors, the art, all the artefacts are just timeless. My favourite part is just sitting by the window at the Harbour bar ordering one of their exquisite cocktails and just looking at the Gateway of India surrounded by tourists.

Fantastic Experience. Lobby is one of a kind. Staff hospitality was on show from the time we checked in. We were also given a free upgrade to the palace as a milestone was being celebrated. Recreational facilities are very modern and Staff are on the ball when it comes to maintaining them. Excellent pool facility. Rooms are top notch and housekeeping is of a very high standard. No faults can be given.

Being one of the most famous hotels in India, needless to say, this is a magnificent hotel. You can spend lots of time just appreciating the architecture and the display in the building. What's even more impressive is the top-notch service. It's the little details that makes a big difference. Everything is taken care of. Staff are very warm, friendly and helpful. The place is very beautiful that gives me thought that I should have come back here again. The people are very accommodating and the view is very relaxing. This place suits for refreshing and breathing for a while. It takes aways your anxiety and negative emotions.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai for two days, and it truly lived up to its reputation as one of the best hotels in India with immense cultural and heritage value. From the moment I stepped foot inside the hotel, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a sense of grandeur that is hard to find elsewhere. The services provided by the hotel were simply outstanding. They paid attention to even the tiniest details, ensuring that every customer felt like a VIP. The staff went above and beyond to cater to my needs, making me feel pampered and well taken care of throughout my stay. From check-in to check-out, the entire experience was seamless, and it's evident that they prioritize customer satisfaction. The ambiance and atmosphere of the hotel were truly captivating. The rich history and heritage of the place were reflected in its architecture and decor. As I roamed the halls and explored the common areas, I felt like I was walking through a living museum, and this added a unique charm to my stay. Staying at the Taj Mahal Palace felt like living as royalty. The opulent rooms with their elegant furnishings and breathtaking sea views left me in awe. The blend of modern amenities and classic design elements made the experience all the more special. One of the highlights of my stay was the delightful culinary experience. With three restaurants to choose from, I was spoiled for choice. Each restaurant offered a diverse range of dishes, and the food quality was top-notch. I enjoyed a variety of cuisines during my stay, and every meal was a memorable one. What set this hotel apart from others was the array of engaging activities they offered to their guests. Participating in the Heritage walk was a fascinating journey through the history of the hotel and the city of Mumbai. It added a unique touch to my stay and gave me a deeper appreciation for the cultural significance of this iconic landmark. The level of service provided at Taj Mahal Palace was unmatched. Whether it was the housekeeping, room service, or the concierge, everyone was attentive and quick to assist. Their dedication to ensuring a flawless experience for their guests truly stood out. Architecturally, the Taj Mahal Palace is a marvel. The intricate detailing and stunning design elements showcased the craftsmanship of a bygone era. What impressed me the most was how well-maintained the entire property was, despite its age. It was evident that the management took great pride in preserving its heritage. No visit to the Taj Mahal Palace is complete without indulging in a delightful tea and snacks session at the Sea Lounge. The panoramic view of the Arabian Sea was a sight to behold, and the delicacies served were delectable. It was the perfect way to unwind and soak in the majestic surroundings. In conclusion, my experience at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai was nothing short of extraordinary. The blend of cultural heritage, impeccable services, magnificent ambiance, and delicious cuisine made it an unforgettable stay. If you're looking for a truly royal experience in the heart of Mumbai, this iconic hotel is the perfect choice.

Everything is amazing about this hotel, the history, the building, the architecture etc . I loved everything about this place except one weird fact about the security, since there are so many people around who are not probably guests , the security is super tight and everywhere you go you get asked your room number. I found it particularly annoying when I want to roam around inside and see the amazing architecture and facilities. I am sure the staff also find it quite awkward to ask the people if they are staying there or not. When you are paying so much and want to see everything the hotel has to offer, it's quite annoying that you are watched so closely by the security and the staff.
