Great spot for diving and a good dive shop on site for rentals, classes etc. Good spot to picnic and close to Cannery Row If you want to park here and walk down to all the shops.

We were lucky to go whale watching on a NOAA excursion since we both volunteer at the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary Center. Wowza! We saw four Orcas, a dozen humpbacks whales, what I can only describe as a roil of sea lions ( trying to escape the Orcas) and birds a plenty. Profound experience. So glad we remembered to take Dramamine!

Nice view of part of the Monterey Bay. A good area to enjoy a walk & bicycling on the old train path area, converted into a trail.

OMG what a Great Dive - Just Gear up and GO!!! This was yet another solo dive - (Buddy Bailed and I could not resist) Be Safe!!! I did not go more than 10m + Specifically Trained to Dive Solo If solodive - have pony Tank!!! But there are many local Dive shops you can find a buddy or schedule a dive... But whatever you do do not miss the chance if you go. Here are a few Photos from my dive there ... Its amazing!!! (I say a few photos as I took about 1500 photos on that dive!!!) Remember Stay Safe and abide by rule number 1 (Well my Rule anyways Don't Die) 1- Breath 2- Equalize 3- Slowly (Never surface faster than your smallest bubble - and Safety Stops!!!) Swim like a Fish not a Seahorse!!!! DON'T Touch anything (and watch your fins) Leave bubble - Take Photos!!!!!!!!

Nothing much to do here. We saw a seal by the edge that made the visit more interesting. If not, there isn't much for tourists to do here, if you can't actually see Marine Life. There were some Scuba Divers, so maybe they do scuba diving, but that's pretty much it. More for fishing & diving activities. We were lucky there was a seal to while away some time & enjoy this place's vibe.

Some of the best scuba diving on the west coast of California, suitable for beginner thru expert. Lots of parking (though it can fill up quickly on weekends), restrooms, showers, and a big grass gathering area, and several great dive sites easily accessible from shore.

I love this place. You can just sit at one of the picnic tables and take in the breathtaking views of the Bay or walk down the breakwater and see the sail boats and all the sea life--otters, seals, sea lions, pelicans, sea gulls, and yes, the occasional whale, or get your feet wet along the beach.

The sea lions are always worth watching here. From small ones all sleeping on top of each other to some huge ones posing for the camera you will see lots. Nice area for a relaxing walk
