Far from 5 star. The air conditioning didn’t work well enough to bring the room temp down below 78°F/26°C. They moved us to three different rooms and all three air conditioning systems were insufficient. I also would like to know how long this hotel has been around, in our last and final room, the coffee machine didn’t have a wall outlet anywhere near it. This was clearly a construction error, as the other rooms all have the same design and location of the coffee machine(but with an outlet) Gotta love that “It’s not my job” mentality. I wonder how many times they’ve been asked about that over the years.

The hotel looks unique and beautiful, but I will end on this merit. I have been to many Hilton hotels and unfortunately I have to say that hotels in the Middle East give a much better experience. I was disappointed that at a 5-star resort they demand extra charges for group activities, sauna or beach club. Charging €120 for the infinity pool (which is advertised in all the main photos on the internet) is madness. If I am paying no small amount of money for this kind of hotel, I would expect some added value. Breakfast was of normal European standard, the same as in 3 and 4 star hotels. The other two swimming pools were good, albeit with the same music playing over and over again at one of them. At check-out no one even asked if I had enjoyed my stay.

Love this hotel have stayed here multiple times. The rooms are very relaxing and the views are amazing. This past visit was my first time using the spa. Not a big fan of how the staff at the desk of the spa treated my husband and I. Luckily the spa is great and Jóse at the front desk the next morning was so amazing I will come back. He was so warm and kind offering suggestions on things to do in the area. We really appreciated that!

We had a wonderfull time again at the Higueron Hotel! It's a spectacular and 'trendy' Location with a lot of Artwork all over the Hotel. Spectacular Architecture. (unfortunately this comes with a few 'influencer' Girls that permanentely posing and take pictures of themself everywhere and everytime, don't care about the privacy of other guests around. Disturbing, bad behavior. At the SPA i had to inform the Staff once about them, because they really exaggerated taking photos, the Staff was very helpfull and instantly stopping it. At all, this phenomen is not the Hotels fault but maybe needs some attention in the future) Samantha and her Reception Team do anything to make your stay as good as possible, aks them whenever you need help. Thank you for the 'open ear' you always had for us. The Staff at the Med Restaurant where doing everything in the busy Breakfast times in the morning to have instantly the Tables cleaned and prepared for the next guests. They always give you a very welcomming feeling and best hospitality at Dinner, some staff Members we know for years. We realy enjoed theyr Service at it's best! I can recommend the 'half bord' option that offers you a 3 corse Menu with daily changing options between Meat, Fish and vegetarian. Good option, becouse the selection of the 'a la card' Menu is very small when you stay for several nights. But you have many more Restaurant options in the Hotel with the easy going La Higuerita, the stylisch Sollo, the 'Brasilian' Arara or the Bar at the Infinity Pool. The Rooms are spectacular and have a cool Design. The Bed's are extra wide and comfortable. From the 'normal' Kingsize Rooms to the many different Suite options, they offer a wide variety to choose from. Enjoy a upgrade to a Suite if you can afford, becouse it's worth the price for even more space... The Loiero Suite is our new favorite, with a large Bedroom, Sofa, huge Bed and a large private Terrasse on the second floor with private Hottub, Sunbed and Sofas and views over the whole Area down to the Sea. A thing you should know: The entrance to the SPA costs extra, a Sunbed at the Infinity Pool or at the Beach Club costs 100 Euro per Day and gives you a 75 Euro credit at the Bar Menu. Every Hour they offer a free Shuttle from the Hotel to the Railwaystation 'Carvajal' and to the Beach (From Carvajal, by local Train in 30 minutes to the Malaga Airport and the very nice City of Malaga) We can't wait for comming back as soon as possible!

Beautiful hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Many spoke English. Excellent open concept rooms with showers and soaking tubs. I was there for a corporate retreat, and the only drawback was the food. The kitchen seemed overwhelmed and the buffet breakfast and lunches were underwhelming. The one exception was the morning I was invited to the rooftop breakfast, which was amazing. I would 100% return again.

Came for a short weekend trip. Beautiful hotel, in stunning grounds with great service! The staff really went out of their way to make it a relaxing and perfect stay for us. A big thank you to Susana for looking after us, and to Natalja.

Heads up to the staff who does a very professional job and made our stay very pleasant. We particularly appreciated the breakfast buffet, it was amazing! And we loved all the features and amenities offered by the hotel: different swimming pools and restaurants, room service, spa, gym... The hotel is situated in a sort of residential zone, so you feel safe which is also an important point. The only negative feedback is regarding the noise we could hear from the rooms (could be better soundproofed).

I recently had the pleasure of staying at your hotel and I wanted to express my utmost satisfaction with my experience. The hotel staff was incredibly professional, always greeting me with a smile and going above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. Their helpfulness and attentiveness truly made me feel valued as a guest. Additionally, I must commend the hotel on its outstanding food. Every meal I had was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. The quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chefs were evident in every bite, leaving me eager to return for more. Overall, my stay was nothing short of excellent. The combination of the friendly and professional staff, along with the delectable food, created a memorable experience that exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend your hotel to anyone seeking a top-notch hospitality experience.

1 hour check in queue. Only 2-3 people working and the manager and concierge don’t help and check people in as well. So half of the stations were unmanned. They should help when there is such a long queue. The hotel will claim they were full, but there was a lot of inventory still available online and even if they were full, they need to check people in more timely. Air conditioning settings are limited and the room was very warm. Room is supposedly a suite but definitely is not a suite. You wouldn’t want to pay for it on the expectation that it is. Paid €120 for the rooftop pool and the staff there were lovely, but there is not enough of them so it’s very hard to order a drink. I saw multiple people being disappointed about the wait times. There is a real lack of decent customer service at the place.

I am well travelled and have stayed in several 5-star hotels globally and this hotel does not deserve 5 stars, I would give it 3, at its best. The rooms are fairly simple, small and bland. We booked a twin room and the individual beds were tiny, the mattresses just simple, not of 5-star quality. Limited amenities in the room, not even a bottle of water. I asked at the bar for a water fountain to refill my reusable bottle and they told me there wasn’t one in the hotel, on the last day I found one at the gym… breakfast choices were limited, again not what is expected of a 5-star hotel. Dinner service was slow and sadly only offered one vegan option. The worst part was being told at check in we had to pay extra for pretty much EVERYTHING. How is this 5-star service? Hotel beds at the beach come at a cost and the beach itself is far from the hotel, requires internal shuttle which only works for limited hours. Infinity pool beds also come at a cost, so does the spa and the gym classes. But the most disappointing part was the overall service and care given to guests. The coffee station and table in our room was not cleaned after the first night, we came back to the room to enjoy a nice coffee before heading to dinner to find the coffee station as we left it in the morning, I asked reception to have it cleaned, left the room and came back later, nothing was done. I had to follow up again… then came my worst nightmare - I woke up at 3am because the AC was not working properly, tried to call reception but the phone wasn’t working either! Had to walk down to reception to be told I could move to another room, in another tower… my mum who was staying with me, was sleeping and I didn’t want to wake her up, so we stayed in the room. Next day I informed reception again… hoping they had already been informed by the previous receptionist but sadly no one really followed up. Reception sent an engineer to the room and told me everything was working fine but it wasn’t, I spent another night without being able to sleep properly… I am in early pregnancy weeks and did not feel like fighting anyone for a room or anything really, so I decided to cut my stay and leave the hotel early. The hotel asked me to change the booking with booking.com where I initially made the reservation, they confirmed the charge would be for 2 nights only, to my surprise when I tried to check out, I was being charged an extra night as penalty! after all I went through… at check out the Guest Service Manager came to talk to me to apologise, I wonder where she was on the first and second day? There’s many hotels on the Costa Del Sol. Don’t waste your time or money visiting this one.

We really enjoyed our long weekend stay over an early January weekend and can’t thank the staff enough for how nice they made it! The hotel is super clean and tidy with loads of different areas and facilities. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the Leiro suites where we were treated like royalty! Free welcome drinks, beautiful room with a huge bed, plus a bath overlooking the sea. On top of this, we were granted daily spa access and flexible checkout. The included breakfasts were generous and interesting, with the option to eat at the rooftop pool or in the room. Special shout out to Melina in guest services who was super friendly and made us feel right at home. No request was ever too much, thank you! The location is super handy for the airport yet feels nice and peaceful. While the view is interrupted by other hotels (which can’t be avoided in the popular area), visual tricks like the rooftop infinity pool make it feel more isolated and closer to the sea. The spa circuit is pretty good - it’s fairly basic but large enough for lots of guests. The only thing I’d improve upon there is the lighting - it could do with being more ambient to be relaxing. It’s worth visiting if included in the room, but I’m not sure I’d pay €36 just to visit the spa. The gym is amazing though, such high quality equipment and really cool classes are included. We’ve already recommend the hotel to friends and hope to be back for more winter sunshine soon!

Definitely love our stay here in Higueron. The room is decent and clean with a lovely balcony. Marco at the front desk is super helpful and friendly! The breakfast is superb with lots of selections! The view and the infinite pool on the rooftop bar is incredible. We did enjoy our evening drinks over there. The underground parking lot is large with plenty of spaces. It is quite easy to park and drive through even with our rental SUV.

We very much enjoyed our long weekend stay at the Higueron Resort. The hotel and amenities were impressive with a unique style and quality throughout. All of the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful - a true VIP experience with the lovely welcoming gestures and the ongoing superior service. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary in style with a little indulgence and lots of relaxation.

Best hotel I have ever stayed at. My husband and I Travel frequently and have stayed in many hotels across Europe and North America, this was by far our best experience. The staff provided outstanding service! They were incredibly helpful and accommodating with any requests. A special thank you to Patri, Pablo and Mario who provided service that surpassed all expectation.

Pretty swanky place. Lots of areas to hang out around the resort, friendly staff, and great food at the on-site restaurant. The rooftop bar and pool area is amazing. Removing one star due to the extremely awkward room layout. Note the tub in my photos. Walls are also paper thin. Was regularly woken up just by hearing people in the room next door coughing, and drunk people running down the halls at 3am.

Great hotel. Incredible rooms (we had a suite with roof terrace) and a very relaxing pool & bar area. Multiple restaurants - breakfasts to die for, dinners were good too but menus could have done with some more variety. Excellent food though. Good transport links to Beach, Malaga etc. Gym and indoor pool are top quality.

Lovely hotel with lovely views. It is situated on a hill high above the beach and the nearest train station. The train station is not a far walk (probably 1/2 mile), but going down is steep and it's a tough climb back up. The hotel does offer a shuttle to the beach and the train station, but the last shuttle is around 6pm, so it was completely unhelpful to us, as we wanted to go to the city center in the evening. If you're more interested in the beach and views, this hotel is a good choice. If you're more interested in the city center and being near attractions like the Alcazaba, this hotel is a little too remote.

Modern and clean rooms with a weird bathroom setting, though you will get used to it. The hotel is spacious and luxurious with many things to do, including several pools, SPA, gym, and an amazing rooftop terrace with infinity pool. A shuttle bus connects the hotel with the nearby beach free of charge. There are also several restaurants, food was always great. We loved the breakfast with its many various options. However, the coffee machines produce one of the worst coffees I have ever had. I hope the hotel will invest in alternatives to provide an ongoing 5-star experience. Special thanks to Robert from guest relations for making our stay unforgettable.

Hotel is great, super clean and staff awesome. Amazing suites with balcony and luxury amenities. Free Shuttle bus available to the beach and supermarket. Only down was the Med restaurant - impolite staff and had to wait 1h for starters and they forgot our mains. No management around. Please improve the Med as the rest is great!

This is a gorgeous and spacious resort with extensive grounds to walk, with lots of art pieces and 2 antique cars. Recommended if you have a car since it’s in a very hilly region and far from public transport. There is an hourly shuttle that brings you to the nearby train station, among other sites. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and I loved the bathtub. Service was a bit harried because we were from a cancelled flight. They doubled their reception staff but it still caused some delays. Breakfast is excellent, with a wide spread of cold cuts, fresh fruits and freshly fried eggs. The MED restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. Jose Luis, along with the rest of the waiters, were friendly and charming. As the stay was complimentary, the infinity pool and spa were off limits to us. It’d be nice to prepare some printed info for guests, as it was not easy to find information via the QR code, and some facilities are chargeable/ off-limits. I felt bad after asking the reception staff a few questions as they seemed very busy. We were a bit more trouble as we had run low on clean clothes and toiletries, and our long distance flight back to Asia had been delayed for 2 days. We paid about €40 to launder a few pieces of clothing which all came to us damp. [Note - there is no self service laundry as listed in Google Maps. We asked the receptionist.] We managed to sun it at the balcony after one afternoon. We informed the receptionist later and they said we should have called the reception to take it back. Perhaps the laundry should be told not to send out damp laundry?

Absolutely amazing stay. I travel a lot and have many different experiences but this hotel I can recommend in 💯. Unique design, with beautiful views especially from rooftop bar give you wonderful experience. But the most valuable are people working here. Always ready to help, give you the best advice with smiley face. I would like to thank you so much Melina from reception and Italo from room service ( I hope I spelled his name properly ) for being absolutely amazing and go extra miles to make my stay unforgettable. I will definitely come back to you 😃

It was the final day of our time in Spain and we wanted a treat for our daughter before her return to work. We were not disappointed! The warm welcome by Samantha and Marco was exceptional with big smiles and a glass of cava! They could not be more helpful. Our rooms were spacious, pristine..and in a very different quirky design with the huge bath..not everyone's taste with no privacy, but we had a good joke as pensioners and enjoyed the shower instead🙂 Our daughter was blown away by the infinity pool and cabanas. We were happy to watch her enjoyment. We ate at the pool bistro where Jose gave fantastic service with a happy smile. We will return!

The hotel and location is great the room were amazing but wasn’t great for couples as there’s no privacy to use the toilets at all the housekeepers they were make noise as I arrived at the hotel around 9am and after night flight I try to get some sleep but I couldn’t even for 15 minutes also my friend he were at 4th floor also he has same problem with the noise. Other than that the hotel is great

This is a nice hotel, not sure it's a 5 star hotel but does offer a lot. Multiple pool options and restaurants. Breakfast is a buffet style breakfast and to be fair is rather good. Service is average and the rooms average. A nice hotel for the area but not 5 star. Rooftop pool has a Nikki beach vibe but lacks a bit of atmosphere. It was still very enjoyable though and we would recommend to friends if visiting the area.

A beautiful resort hotel that provides everything you need for a perfect vacation: number of swimming pools, a very big gym, spa, free shuttle to the beach ( definitely recommend their beach club). They do late breakfast which is another great thing. Great choice of restaurants, tasty food and cocktails. Rooms are very big with beautiful view. The staff is very friendly and helpful, providing exceptional service. This is a perfect place for a peaceful holidays.

Great hotel if you like fitness!! But they seriously lack staff. Often you come to an empty desk and have to wait for service.

The only thing which i didn't like is the arrangement of the toilet and the bath....it has one sliding door so once u slide it to close the toilet the bath remains fully open, and vise varsa....and there is a big gap between the toilet door and the floor so the smell easily comes out in the room.when some one is using it. The rest is amazing...specially the balcony was the best part. Loved it .

Really nice resort with nice padel conditions and pool areas. The only thing that I didn't like was the general speed service. All staff was nice to talk to and friendly buy a little bit too slow and would time after time forget if I ordered something. Will definitely recommend you to go there for a padel getaway

Great hotel with the best staff for a calm but active vacation. I was here for a corporate event but I still found time to get use of the wonderful gym located in the hotel. Unfortunately the weather was rainy almost all the time which prevented to test outside and terrace pool. Special thanks goes to Jesus which was the best staff I came across with a smile on his face all the time.

Let’s start with that it is a 5-star hotel and thereby a high standard may be expected…. The hotel is neat, clean and luxurious. It is located with a nice view over the area including over the ocean. The deluxe room with sea view was beautiful, clean and neat. Not very large, but just spacious enough thanks to design. The gym is absolutely great! The breakfast was good and in a nice area. But we also had some points of… improvement. The spa facility looked great and was one of the reasons why we booked. To our disappointment: no availability for treatment. So be warned to book in advance (although we really don’t like that - as it depends on how you feel too). The rooftop swimming pool had nice beds on the side, but the beds were not included: we could sit on the bench.. the sport pool was included, but did need booking as it was also used for non-hotel purposes. Also was it really too hot for really sport purposes. The reception was also disappointing. When arriving we were not looked at or addressed by them (thankfully the doorman noticed and then addressed us) and also via the room phone, they were not answering (I waited 20minutes and then hung up and walked down). Also be warned that the hotel has a department at the beach, but this is not really walking distance (heat and steep). The Med pool was very nice, with a nice footbath to cool down, unfortunately no shades or parasol’s, but snacks and drinks and a very good DJ!!

Our week’s stay has been incredible!! We actually have one more full day before we leave on Sunday. I thought it would be a lovely gesture to recognise before we leave all the staff from reception, Med restaurant & pool, infinity pool, staff and also to the staff who have kept our room immaculate. We have had delicious food and all presented beautifully. Thank you for everything you have provided to make our stay so memorable and I would highly recommend to anyone looking at this luxury hotel. Food, service, room, amenities, ambiance is truly beautiful. We would love to come back!

The hotel itself is wonderful from when you arrive it just has a lovely feel. The reception team on arrival and departure were really helpful and knowledgeable, Samantha from guest relations was fantastic. The bar and restaurant staff particularly in Infinity looked after us so well and all the food and drinks in all the outlets were delicious! Our rooms were lovely and kept so clean, and the hotel in general is presented beautifully. I hope we can come back soon and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel!

A beautiful hotel with brilliant staff! We had a wonderful week here - our room was stunning, with a sea view, and the whole hotel is beautifully designed and even smells amazing! The breakfast is varied and very good. Lots of seating around the pool and the spa circuit is well worth it. Staff were great and very attentive. We had a hire car, which was useful as there is not a huge amount in close proximity to the hotel.

This hotel is unbelievable! We stayed in a Leiro suite which just took our breath away! The room decor, space and furnishing is beautiful and then the upstairs balcony, day bed and hot tub all with a beautiful sea view just blew us away!! The food is amazing in every restaurant whether your up at the infinity pool, down at the regular pool or having the breakfast it is all amazing food and choice. One of the evenings we went up to the infinity pool and had a cocktail buffet with beautiful food and fantastic service, the waiters were very attentive and never let our drinks go empty, they made our experience the amazing one it was. The facilities available to you at this hotel are second to none and the pool spaces make for the perfect space to relax and unwind and enjoy a perfect holiday. The service throughout the hotel was amazing but I have to give an extra special mention to Sam from guest relations, nothing was ever too much trouble for her from helping us arrange a surprise for someone we were travelling with through to providing recommendations and sorting out reservations for us. Sam has such a warm and welcoming smile and makes you immediately feel so welcome and relaxed, she is an asset to the hotel!

Fantastic, luxurious and phenomenal property that meets the standards of a five-star Hilton resort. I got a suite upgrade. The rooms and amenities are spectacular: recently renovated, modern very clean, spacious with great views. Very comfortable beds and shower. The facilities around the hotel are amazing: including a Michelin star restaurant, spa, indoor and outdoor pools, gym staffed with personals trainers. The room service was also great. Professional and well serviced hotel.

If I could leave a 10 star review I would. We stayed for 4 nights late December and we had one of the most magical stays in any hotel until now. This is not just a hotel, it's an experience! The rooms are out of this world, the service is top notch and the view....breathtaking! I want to highlight a person in particular: Pablo from Reception. We want to thank him for being overall awesome, answering every question, being super helpful and supporting. He really made our stay extra special!

The hotel is situated half way up a mountain. There is a shuttle to take you to the local supermarket, beach and train station. It runs regularly. Unless you like hiking I suggest you use it. The hotel is beautiful with amazing views. The staff have been brilliant especially Tanya who made sure we had everything we needed. I received a bottle of prosecco in our room for my birthday which was a nice surprise. Very happy with this hotel and would stay here again.

This is a very interesting place. Has the most beautiful views, the amenities are amazing as well i really enjoyed the aqua circuit in the spa. the service there is like no other very attentive and polite. I must say the cappuccinos at the Cafe are amazing.

Overall a positive experience. The staff are plentiful and friendly though the room cleaners come at inconsistent times and don't speak a word of English. The hotel is situated half way up a very very steep hill so you're likely to find yourself using taxis or public transportation more than you might expect. One specific note for couples - we were told that there is a pool for 16 y/os and above only but this was ignored and pool staff didn't like to talk about it. So if you're a couple looking for a quieter poolside holiday away from bawling kids you might want to pick somewhere else

If you're looking for a calm vacation, don't go here. We read the good reviews but seems they are fake. We wanted to be at the pool area but they are every day playing the most stressful party music at the highest volume. We asked them if they could change to something calmer or maybe just lower the music a little bit but they never did. Only once, but by 20 minutes later turning it up again. It's 1,5 km to the nearest supermarket if you want to buy water that doesn't cost you 6 euro for 1 liter. This was the cheapest water they had. They have a free shuttle bus but it goes 1 time per hour so you have to be at the supermarket for 1 hour to wait if that's what you want. Impossible. Nothing more to do there. Food tasted like something you could have made at home. Overall a disappointing stay. We were expecting more.

Upon arrival the hotel was very impressive and modern and we found the staff very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us and carried on through out our 4 night stay. We had an amazing room lovely food although the evening menu was very limited, the breakfast had something for everyone. There’s plenty of amenities including gym spa palates. The infinity pool was stunning but there is plenty of pools around the hotel. Plus there is a convenient free shuttle bus. I would say it is more for the16+. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Samantha at the concierge desk was so lovely and helped me book the spa and excursions. All the staff at the med restaurant/ breakfast team were delightful. The hotel is beautiful and i definitely want to go back in the summer. The front desk team helped answer any questions efficiently!!

This hotel has to be one of my favourite destinations ever. It’s so spotless, the rooms are clean.. omg! The bed is large and comfortable. The staffs are very helpful especially the likes of Roman, Samantha and Melina, they were so soft spoken and was always ready to assist you in anyway needed. I honestly will be visiting again. Ohh how could I forget the spa club, the pool was warm and the jacuzzi was as large as a pool. This place is a must visit especially for a group or couple getaway. Thank you for your service.
