👍👍 Strolling through the back streets looking for breakfast. Lots of choice but this caught our eye..especiallythe tortilla on the bar. Coffee to wash it down. Tortilla firm outside and gloriously gooey in the middle. Owner knows Flat Eric. Bar has a long pause from about 3pm to 6.30pm. Well worth find... People often mention tapas, friendly,

Tortilla firm outside and gloriously gooey in the middle. Owner knows Flat Eric. Bar has a long pause from about 3pm to 6.30pm. Well worth finding. Yum homemade cheesecake. Coffee 1.40...tortilla 2.80...cheescake 3€. Back in 2023..still yum according to Tima.

Our favorite place in town for dinner or drinks in a cozy atmosphere. We went there more than once on our vacation because we felt welcome and liked it so much. Not only the best food we've tasted in Madeira but also a very friendly service. We'll definitely come back!

A great out of way the place on Rua dos Netos. Great food selection. Not your normal Portuguese restaurant. Good prices also. Try them for a different kind of breakfast or brunch. You will be impressed and return as a regular.

SO wished we'd discovered you guys sooner in our week here. We'd have been in for lunch a few times instead of just the once today. Fresh & authentic tapas, and so reasonably priced. To your continued success 🙏❤️

Nice staff. Run as local family biz. Food is good and different alternative to other touristy places in Funchal. Quality and freshness could be better.

Everything was extremely delicious. The service was really kind and explained everything about the food, its origins and ingredients. If you're a fan of Spanish cousine, you must visit this place.

amazing service & very accommodating (e.g gave us a 1/2 jug of fresh made sangria rather than a litre!) very tasty food in a quaint setting

Good tapas, with great service. Relaxed & humble vibe with tasty dishes. The food wouldn't feel out of place in a fancy restaurant. Would definitely recommend a stop off here.

Delicious spanish tapas and extremely friendly service. The owners take a lot of pride in what they do. Inexpensive for the quality it provides. I've been 3 times and have really enjoyed each visit.

Wonderful place for a quick bite or a full meal. Superb food (tapas) and very friendly owners. We (also) had the jamon Iberico. Delicious ! During a talk we got advised to walk the PR9 - Levada do Caldeirão Verde which was beautiful. Thanks !

We’re very late with our review, but it goes to show we still haven’t forgotten how good it was! This is a small, tucked away, family ran gem that is a must if you are in Madeira! The food was incredible, small but completely perfected menu. The waiter is also the owner and he made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. My only negative is that we found it so late during our holiday otherwise it would have been a place we would have visited several times. Thank you for our lovely meal and pleasant atmosphere!

I came here this evening for tapas with my wife on our first night in Funchal. It was close to our hotel and we wanted something light and quick. What an unexpected little gem! The place itself was small and cosy. The two gentlemen were so lovely and friendly and the food was amazing! We got a cheese and meat board, some bread and patatas bravas. All absolutely lovely. Had some white wine too, which was also very very good! What great value, so reasonably priced for excellent quality food. I would recommend this place to anybody and I would definitely return. If you like tapas- you must try this place!

We had the most amazing time at Jarana. The three people whom work there are truly amazing, plus they have so much attention for detail. Every meal was amazing (plus the poncha was really great!!) Kind regards from the Netherlands, and we would love to come back sometime ♥️

What a find! This place just got a nice feel to it. Unassuming staff, delicious and freshly made food, comfortable atmosphere. There are many good restaurants in Funchal, but this is the place we went back twice. Would have been a 3rd time if it wasn't a Sunday. The caesar salad was spot on, Thank you!! :)

Great tapas - we came in relatively late one night and were talked through the menu by a friendly knowledgeable member of staff. We had some chicken croquettes and a beautiful board of meats and cheeses which we happily made our way through over a few drinks. Highly recommended

👍 Great setting with a huge covered outdoor seating area in the sidewalk right across from the municipal park. Very friendly staff. Gorgeous historic building. 👍 Fun location on the Lido Promenade for tasty pizza and salad. Since we'd already had drinks at lunch and an afternoon cocktail, we chose bottles of water with our meal. The waiter brought wee shots of Poncha and I have to say it was quite good. I've tried quite a few on the island and they vary fr...

👍 Traditional atmosphere. Polite staff. More expensive than other restaurants in Funchal but worth it. The linguine with lobster and prawns were cooked well and the fried maize was amazing (very good option for vegetarians)
