It is not fancy restaurant, but the food is fresh and made almost on customer's eyes. The cooker is very flexible. It is cheap place, many locals eat there. Price Vs quality is really good.

Perfectly cooked fresh sardines to share between us followed by sea bass again excellently cooked with a delicious whole Prawn. Home made chips and garlic bread. Simple good food with no frills but all the flavour.  Popular with locals and tourists, good prices. The chef even came to check we enjoyed our food.

Loved it. The food is simple, very fresh and reasonably priced. Four of us had a really good lunch with drinks for 50euro. The waiter was kind and funny and led us through the menu item-by-item in excellent English. Definitely recommend, only small downside is that there is no outdoor seating.

Happened to come past this local spot and it was packed. Definitely for a reason… food was delicious. Very local feel. Great place to come to if you want to experience authentic Portuguese food.

When we got there there was a queue (it was around 15:00) and so we debated whether to wait. Thank goodness we did. Because we ate delicious sandwiches in a place with unique ambiance and with super friendly hosts. Definitely recommended! ✨

Best food we had so far in Funchal. The beef steak was absolutely fantastic, totally recommend it 👍 The waiter spent a lot of time with us explaining every single dish 😁 thank you so much for your patience !!! Honestly the best value for money in Madeira, their fish was fresh and amazing. The portion was unbelievable, the fries were perfectly cooked and served with salad. Highly recommend when you visit. I ended up going 3 times, trying 3 different fish when I was there and was blown away every time! Their cheesecake looked amazing, I wish I tried it

Food was solid, especially for the price. Highly recommend the tomato soup, for 3.50 euro it's a steal!

The best bolo de caco here! Very fresh and fluffy on the inside. The tomato soup was not bad to try. Also tried the stewed beef but found it quite dry.

The place is a bit small but...Tasty authentic food for resonable price. Simpatic, fun, and friendly stuff. What else do you need...absolutely recomend it.

Best prego on the island! The bola do coco is extremely fresh and the steak was cooked to perfection. The craft beer was good and the mango cheesecake was lovely & light. Incredible value for quality of service and food received. Highly recommend!

We went for a food in an early evening and ordered for 2 people: garlic bread, Dorada fish with chips and Tuna sandwich. We loved the service, the food and the authentic feeling of the place. Our waiter was very helpful ❤️ Prices are also good.

We had a quick, late lunch, to hold us over until dinner. We both had the tomato soup. Very unique, but very good. Chopped tomatoes, onions and a hard fried egg. The staff is very nice and attentive! A bit higher then other places, but we will return!!!

Was recommended to visit Bella 5 Snack Bar by a friend and I’m so glad I made it there. Probably the simplest, yet best meal I’ve had in Madeira (and this is my second time to the island). All the dishes seem fresh and homemade with very reasonable prices too. Was too full to fit in pudding (homemade passion fruit cheesecake) but will make space on my next visit!

Inconspicuous little gem, where bartender gently grabbed us from the street when place was full and found for us place to seat. We grabbed chicken and beef steak sandwiches and there were delicious. Really casual atmosphere made this place a nice stop. Definitely give it a try

This place is simply amazing! After 11 days spend in Madeira I can tell you ie a MUST to come here once and then you’ll come twice :) the fish is so delicious, also the meat. All the portions are big and good prices. Also the atmosphere is so nice, people are so involved in what they are doing. The cooker is such a nice person and he’s doing very delicious food! Totally recommend it!!!
