I will put the positive first - if you decide to go to this office, I highly, HIGHLY recommend Jennifer Atwater. She is a sweetheart and is always very knowledgeable. She listens to your concerns and symptoms, is thorough with her examinations, and gives good advice and suggestions. She deserves 5 stars all the way. I put 3 stars because of my experience today. I couldn't see Ms. Atwater as she was on vacation, so I had to see Dr. Darrell. It was largely a waste of my time. I came in for chest pains as my primary issue, but had been having knee pains and pale skin and lips before the chest pain started. He barely examined me. He did listen to my heart and they ran an EKG, but that was it. He did not ask about the other symptoms I had or look into them further, nor did he think we needed to do blood work. Instead, he preached to me about being overweight, how I had only lost four pounds since I started going to their practice, and that I just needed to eat less. I feel that I was not taken seriously and that he just wanted to push his own agenda. I trust Ms. Atwater and will go back to see her, but I do not trust that man to look beyond my weight and take my symptoms and concerns seriously.

Honestly every employee here is top notch. No matter how slammed and busy they are, they take the time to make sure you as their patient are taken care of. Dr. Devente and his team are the best around and go above and beyond when it comes to appointments and referrals. The office staff is the best medical staff I have ever spoken with and I hope they get so much credit for how hard and efficiently they work. Definitely more than satisfied to be seen by this practice.

Will NEVER go here again. Dr. Darrell doesn't follow standard protocol for tick bites. Son ran low to high fever for over 16 days with other symptoms. Dr. was confident it was mono. It wasn't. Had to go to ER to get antibiotics. All other medical professionals I saw said NEVER WAIT to start on antibiotics with tick bites.

Go somewhere else. Easily the worse business practice I've ever experienced. I had to schedule a physical for my employer and I chose this office to develop a long relationship with a physician. That was my first mistake. I schedule my appointment with their first availability, which was months later, and wrote down wrong time. In the meantime, I never received a phone call or text with appointment confirmation (like any other office). When I called, I was informed my appointment was in five minutes. The staff became rude with me and is now charging me with a $100 cancellation fee.

Both me and my wife have been going to fuquay Varina family practice since 2006. I see Dr. DeVente and my wife see's Jennifer Atwater. We are very pleased with both of them and the service and care we receive it top notch! They have keep us healthy all these years and would not go anywhere else. The staff is also excellent. Very pleased!

Perhaps this office is simply overbooked with patients, but I have never been a patient where an office operated as aloof and contentious as this facility. Difficult to get appointments, late for video appointments, and finally nearly impossible to receive prescription refills on time. Again, perhaps they're simply too busy, but this has been my experience @ WakeMed Primary Care Fuquay Varina.

Do you enjoy being seen in a timely manner, having phone calls returned, or a general air of professionalism? Well, don't come here. All you will get is additional charges they don't tell you about.

We LOVE this practice! They always treat us with kindness and work hard to fit us in for sick appointments every single time we call. The front desk ladies are wonderful, and so are the nurses, PAs, and doctors. We feel so thankful to have them for our health and wellness needs! THANK YOU!

Needed a new PCP after moving to the area a few years ago. Dr. Devente came highly recommended and he hasn't disappointed. Very easy going Dr. that has real conversations about your health issues and concerns and doesn't hide anything. Staff was friendly and welcoming as well. I've never had a single problem with a prescription, scheduling, or people answering the phones. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area that needs a PCP office and likes a more warm and friendly family practice environment vs cold hospital environment

I always have a wonderful experience here. Dr. Atwater is one of the kindest person whom I met. The office ladies are taking care of super nice of me. I want to say to all of you who give bad reviews: you should be appreciate for doctors, nurses, office people for trying to help you. You go in grumpy and didn't even say thanks. Everyone in that place dealing DAILY, HOURLY, with people who need help. I APPRECIATE FOR EVERYONE IN THIS FAMILY PRACTICE! AND Dr. Atwater is AWESOMEST!

Hours on page are always incorrect. Call while hours claim they’re open but get an “we’re closed” message. Impossible to reach outside of office hours which makes it very difficult for people working the hours they are open. No option to leave voicemail during closed hours. Front staff is almost always rude when calling in and acting as if they’re inconvenienced to do their job. Dr. Heppert is wonderful but not worth dealing with everyone else at this office. This office seems to still be in 1980 because their website and practices are terribly outdated.

I've been seeing Dr. DeVente for over 10 years. He and the Medical Assistants, lab personnel, and especially the front office girls are the best. I have been in the medical field for over 20 years so I have some insight into how medical personnel should act and treat patients. This practice knows how to treat their patients with a gentle touch.

I have been seeing Dr deVente for over 20 years. I have had nothing but the best care from him and any others I have seen in this group. I know that if I need to be seen, I do not have to wait, he is there to take care of me. My husband sees Jennifer Atwater in this group and he has had nothing but the best care also. The office staff is very professional, some might say unfriendly at times but they are there to do a job and they take it very serious. We love this group!

I was seen on Friday, 9/1/23. From the moment I called to make an appointment, the receptionist was EXTREMELY RUDE to me-practically hung up, never spoke to me while placing me immediately on hold, and I was very sick. Upon arrival, I received the same treatment from her; minimal words, rude, apathetic, no eye contact, the list goes on. YOU ARE IN THE PEOPLE BUSINESS!!! Act like you represent the Dr's & Pa's who actually have a great bedside manner!
