They canceled our “house with balcony” booking 5 hours before our check in time: “Hello carlos, today you booked Tree house in our place.but I am sorry to said that we have to close it because of big repairing. If you like our cabanas.We can arrange it.It cost one cabana for 8$ only” I went on Booking.com to check out of curiosity and the same room was available online for 3x the rate we booked it for. They have positive reviews that’s why we booked it in the first place but… stuff like this shows they are not honest people.

Probably the best place we stayed at in all of Sri Lanka. Best location, best food and definitely the nicest people! We stayed for five days and the last few days we just wanted to hang around the cabanas and the beach all day. The entire place is a beauty, hand built by the family running it. If you want to get to know the real Sri Lanka, you'd be hard pressed to find a more genuine place than this.

Well, how to describe this amazing week in this beautiful and natural hostel?! Everything was so nice! It’s a family hostel, they are super nice and gentile people. They prepare very delicious food, homemade, juices very fresh, very good everything. I was staying in a cabin very cute. It’s one of the most natural places and calm you can found near from Galle! A good family is running this place! Very nice energy, always helping. The food is good, the cabanas are bigger than others nearby. Nice view to the beach, the sea and sunset! The bad thing is that they put the music very loud and the same music again and again. You always listen an annoying dub dub...

It's a really cute place. The price is so cheap, and the bus to there is about 15 cents. The food is good, but you can find chipper in other places.

Colorful, on the beach. Bungalows are a little small but cute with mosquito netting. Nice sleeping too the sound of the waves. friendly, and helpful staff. Good food drinks and reasonably priced. Plenty of shade if so desired. No ac or fans in bungalows. No hot water for common shower. Cash only. Wifi closed at 10ish...

Spent a relaxing 7 days here, family run cabana style beach house, steps right out onto Pitywella Beach. Food prepared by the Mama was amazing as were the cocktails, most days we took breakfast, lunch and dinner here and did not leave the place. Two nearby supermarkets about 8-10mins walk if supplies needed. Bus stop right outside with buses every few minutes during the day, almost all of them go to Galle (LKR25 each way), 15-20mins by bus. Note last bus back from Galle leaves around 8pm or a little after. After that time Tuk tuk back from Galle cost us LKR500-600, though maybe can be negotiated lower

Smile Beach Hostel & Cabanas is located outside Galle and is a good place to relax. My Cabana had balcony and amazing sea view. Big ocean waves crashing on the shore. Price is reasonable and i would go back and recommend to others.

First night in Smile Beach Hostel!! The owner is just perfect. He always try to make you comfortable, even at 23.00 pm he can cook something for you. Location is near by the ocean, good view, helpfull stuff delicous juices. Fantastic place. You should come to stay here !!

Avoid this hotel; it's a complete scam. Rooms are poorly constructed with just wood, suggesting the owner cut corners. Overpriced, especially considering the lack of nearby restaurants. Not recommended – save yourself the disappointment. I would suggest anyone please don't use this room because nothing is good here The only thing is for seeing the owner's wife you can visit. No helping tendency also. Pls pls pls don't go there especially FOREIGNERS.

We had a fantastic two-night stay at Smile Beach! The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. The rooms were lovely, and beautiful beach was a definite highlight. One of the great perks was the enjoyable happy hour from 6 to 7 in the evening, offering drinks at half price. The young and friendly staff also made motorbike rentals easy and convenient. Highly recommended for a delightful beachside experience! 🏝️😻

Really good accomodation for a low price right at the beach! approximately 3€ for a tiny Bungalow / Cottage. 13€ if you like a proper bed, private toilet and shower. The food was absolutly fantasic!

Beautifull beach , with cute huts. It is small but ocean sound is here and amazing view anytime you open door. People who are working there are very friendly.

We stayed for the night in one of the rooms with a balcony overlooking the beautiful ocean. Two minutes from waking up in the morning to swimming in the ocean! The owners are really friendly and the room was great value. Highly recommend if you don’t mind sleeping to the sound of waves!

This place is incredible. We spent our first three nights in Sri Lanka here and it is so relaxing. Beautiful spot, comfortable, clean and the best views. We stayed in the treehouse up the top and it was awesome. The family were so lovely, but also they are the most helpful people EVER!! Our bags never arrived on the plane and the airport were supposed to forward them but they didn't arrive. . Smile beach hostel were so helpful, they rang the airport so many times for us everyday, they even lent us their own flip flops so we could go exploring (the shoes we arrived in were too warm)! By the third day we still had no bags, the father drove my partner to the shop on his moped to get some more clothes! 🤣❤️😍. These people are wonderful and so helpful. Also, the food here is great, the cocktails are delicious (and half price in happy hour!) And the views are the best. Such good value for money and nice and chilled between hikkaduwa and Galle (both places were a bit hectic for us, so we loved Smile beach hostel as so chilled!). Thank you for everything!! And we will come back to stay for a night before leaving Sri Lanka if we have time. Thank you so so much!! 'Estutti!'

If you’re looking for a super budget nice clean accommodation please do not hesitate - definitely worth it. We saw it on booking with a very attractive price, we hesitate in the beginning but I’m glad we came here. Clean towels, ventilator, plugs in the cabana and mosquito nets. Staff is super friendly, food is super tasty :)

Price/quality really good. Meals Prices a little bit more expensive than in local places. The hut was clean and staff were friendly. There isn't hot water but that seems to be the norm on Sri lanka.

It was an awesome beach side resting place, with a little bar and a restaurant. Simplicity at its best and budget friendly.

Very nice n peacefull place...the owners wil give u home cooked food...and are ready to make anythin and everything ready for your preference...then there is geeth he is extremely frndly...stayed up with us til the time we wanted the bar to be open...you should try the mango mojitos he makes...they are awesome.

Lovely hosts. Comfy huts and you get to wake up on the beach !! Cute little hang out area that are very cosy. Good price and yum homemade food.
