We had a great time at Jumanis - it absolutely deserves the title "surf school" (in contrast to other amateurs or tuk tuk drivers, who only push you on waves). Professional, licensed teaching according to your individual skills - which will definitely bring you on the next level. Might be a little bit pricier than others, but they are open minded for special offers. Fantastic, relaxed atmosphere while, before and after the surf sessions including tasty beverages and roti/pancake dishes. Jumani's Surfschool is a really nice place - no matter if you want to take a lesson or if you just want to hang out and enjoy a delicious smoothie or juice - you always feel welcome here! Mani and the team are always open for a chat and speak english very well. Jumani's place is a bit further from the other surfschools at the beach, so there are less people in the water. I can recommend it!

Best surfschool in the area. Mani, Sumi and the other boys working there are incredibly happy and will always help you the best way they can. They provide good surf lessons and nice food. Good place just to hang out for a drink after surfing. Also away from all the other busy surf spots! Highly recommend this place.

Mani is the best! So fun, knowledgeable and kind teaching my daughter how to surf! She never wanted to leave and we came back 3 times!! 😄 He's away from the busy area so you have more space and privacy to practice. He makes great smoothies too!! Thank you making our trip to Sri Lanka so special. ❤

I'm glad we came here by accident and asked for a surf lesson which was the first time ever for me. My coach Raja did a very good job and explained everything very good so that I was able to manage my first waves. His advices helped me a lot and encourages me to go on. We can totally recommend Mani's great surf school which is totally the best around. Also the smoothies are very good and the team is absolutely friendly and competent. We'll come back.

Had the best time playing in the waves! We absolutely recommend this shop, the staff and would return again. Also, great location near (within eyesight) of other surfers but also far away enough that you aren’t worried about bumping in to anyone.

Good teachers, normal prices - for this 5* We took 1 lesson. We came for the second time and rented only a board (without a lesson) and went for a ride, while I helped my wife in the water so that it would be easier for her to catch the wave. Because of this, yesterday’s teacher began to express in an aggressive manner that this is not done and only they themselves can help the students in the water, arguing that if everyone does this from the outside, then it is not correct. His interest is understandable - not to miss out on earning money, but we rented a board and we can even walk a wheel on it in the water, this is our right. For aggression 2*, I do not recommend this school, there are 100,500 such schools on the beach, it is better to choose more adequate and kind people.

Great experience! Five of my friends were suring for the first time and all of them succeded in this with the help from Jumani instructors. They have coffee, water and juices - So the place is pretty chill! I reccomend - 5 stars

Mani is the best trainer on this beach. He got our whole family into surfing) I tried to take lessons from a couple of other coaches and I don’t have the same attitude to work as Jumani. Attentive, encouraging, giving advice. Surfs are in excellent condition.

I had a great lesson with Malu. He showed me the proper technique and after a while I took my first small waves :) I definitely recommend!

Mani is a super teacher. I’ve come back several times over the years. The lessons are in a quiet part of the beach so you don’t need to worry about other surfers. One on one tuition with a whole stretch of sea and surf to yourself. Highly recommended!
