Food - high quality Italian food served in Gallipoli Drinks - a large selection of wines and some beers. All you need or want in such a restaurant. Original - just a good Italian restaurant Ambience - nice ambience in and around the restaurant Service - it was very busy when we were there and they were understaffed but still a nice and quick service. Location - it is located in the old center so the location is perfect. Price - a little on the expensive side and therefore giving 4 instead of 5 stars.

Cozy and cute corner restaurant. Staff is friendly and service is fast. Food and ingredients are of high quality. Good mix of local dishesh with modern touches. Good selection of wines and scrumptious deserts. It gets busy. Either go earlier or make reservation.

The food is okay which is rather disappointing considering the raving reviews. We had the ravioli with shrimp as a homemade specialty which was mediocre and a very small portion for 18€. The tiramisu had too much amaretto and it was the first time we didn't finish it. Service was unfortunately not very good either, very friendly at the start but simply forgot about us in the end and we had to wait a long time to pay.

Lovely vibe, good food and one of the best aperols we've had in Italy. Recommend.

You have to try the purple prawns when in Gallipoli and they have it really good here. The fish soup was also good and was a huge portion. The two of us couldn't finish just two mains and no starters. Beautiful outside seating. Nice staff.

Undisputed number one among the restaurants of the Salento region visited by us during our vacation this year and one of the best restaurants we ate in Italy. For about 10 years we have been visiting about a dozen restaurants a year in Italy. Santa Monaca is distinguished by its taste and atmosphere. We ate here wonderfully prepared fish, tasty chips and fresh salads. The wine was served at a very good temperature. They serve the best homemade Spumone in Salento and probably one of the tastiest tiramisu we've had the chance to eat in Italy. Thank you that despite many customers, we were accepted here without reservation and an outdoor table was prepared for us.

Lovely restaurant but slowest service ever. We had to ask if our starters (burrata and croquettes) were coming after 45 mins, and the kitchen actually asked us if they had already arrived at the table 😂 Food was good, the female server was lovely, but 2 hours for lunch was just too much.

We has very tasty and pleasant dinner at this place. Fried calamari was very nice as well as pasta. We also had a typical ice cream dessert and tiramisu, and both were great. House wine was very smooth and tasty. Service helpful, menu in english. Totally recomended!!

I had the pasta with red mullet (the catch of the day), very good, I loved it. The staff is friendly and manages to give every table attention even when very busy. Go early or reserve for a table, it is definitely worth it.

Cozy and relatively quiet despite the central location, this place is an excellent choice if you’re looking for good seafood experience. I’d especially recommend mussels (cozze) with ricotta cheese and fish tartare with orange & lime. Great service!

We had two fish dishes and two fine bottles of white wine. The staff was nice and the atmosphere was great. We really liked the food When we are back in Gallipoli we would go back to this place again.

Amazing restaurant in Gallipoli. Without sea views but totally worth it. All the dishes are made with love and with sea products. Gnocci and oreci fish pasta, tremendously good. Placement also fine, chill and lovely square. Come to this one!

Excellent seafood restaurant with friendly staff and tasty dishes! While the location is very central on the main street, it's definitely not a tourist trap and really a very legitimate seafood restaurant. The food is excellent and not overpriced, considering the area and quality. The service is very attentive and was always there, checking if we need anything more or not. The house-made digestives are amazing too, so you should definitely try them!

Excellent food and attentive service in a lovely square of Gallipoli historic centre. We had Monaca salad, swordfish rolls and seafood and vegetable sauce linguini pasta. Excellent local white wine and a tasty tiramisu and the inevitable coffee. Good value for money.
