I understand this restaurant has been around since the late 70s. I loved the food. It comes with a local feel and taste and it's absolutely delicious. The jollof rice and beans I ate was quite delicious, it comes with sweet potatoes. They also serve tuwo cinkafa and peppersoup. The attendants are quick to serve (average 5 mins). Love the place.

Best place to buy meat (suya) and a good place to hang out at night. Not too busy and with an outdoor seating area.

It's fairly ok in terms of services and sanitary conditions. But, the absence of Menu with price list for meals on the tables for Customers to see all the choices they have is a serious short coming. This doesn't allow the Customers to make informed choices based on availability and affordability. There's also the challenge of unreceipted payments. The Waiters just collect money from the Customer and glide away. Whether the amount they told the Customer is correct or not, whether they made returns of the whole money or part no one knows for certain. With all the above, I still like the place.

Well it's a nice place, though I went with a friend but I didn't eat. I asked my friend and he said only the salad that he enjoyed but the pepper soup was a bit okay

I couldn't get garro garro so i ordered jollof rice, beans they added bits of meat in the mix which was tasty and 1 ball of sweet potato. 😁 For 2500 then salad was also 2500. Kunu aya was quite watery paid 800 for it. I think thier menu is quite limited, but as at 10am they were open and food was ready, the place was tidy. The food portion is quite small so don't expect too much if you thinking it's a typical northern restaurant and should do better. Don't get your hopes up. Overall the food was fair 🙂

A restaurant that provides nothern Nigerian delicacies, soups, snacks and pastries. Friendly staff and presence of car park for customers. The preparation of fresh and affordable foods daily is the best thing for me. Take away is available, other businesses are located in thr same complex so the plaza is always busy.

Doesn't hold back on portion sizes, you'll eat your fill for less. Most meals are oily though, and the staff courtesy/professionalism is poor.

Shagalinku is a nice restaurant in Abuja where one can get local Hausa food like; Masa/waina, Tuwo rice, Rice, pepper soup. The food is cheap compared to other places. They also have a small super market where you can get all your toiletries, drinks, tea items, chocolates, etc.

Located close to the FCDA head office and NTA. It is a popular destination for local Northern and continental cuisine. There are shops located within for clothing, food items and traditional gift items. The service is fast and they stay open till 10pm. Parking space may be an issue especially at night and the lighting condition on the main road is poor, although not the fault of the restaurant.

  • 4/5 Dr. ALPHA, Abdullahi A. 2 years ago on Google
All is well with the traditional catering, but parking is a hell. No parking lots. Have leave the car by the road side.

  • 5/5 Engr Mohammed B. 2 years ago on Google

  • 1/5 Brenda B. 2 years ago on Google
Poor service. The decor and utensils are dated. The food was...we were disappointed. Time to pay, they had no POS, they called someone from outside the restaurant who charged us for paying the restaurant! Would never set foot there.

The local cuisine (northern Nigerian) is particularly nice.

  • 4/5 Hassan B. 1 year ago on Google
Have been a regular customer since when they were on their mud one-story building in Zaria. Glad to see it expand to other cities and modernized their operations. Good food as always.

  • 5/5 Bilal Y. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing food and I love that it’s not specifically targeted as a fancy restaurant. You can even sit on the floor and eat a traditional food like Tuwo and all that. Really good service too

  • 4/5 Zanna Omar A. 1 year ago on Google
A restaurant with lots of variety of both local and continental cuisine. It is also a chain of restaurants across major cities

  • 4/5 Moral B. 1 year ago on Google
One Great stop for traditional meals, most especially for the Hausa Northern folks in Nigeria. Try Sakwara and Muyan Taushe when at Shagalinku.

  • 4/5 Muhammad Sani I. 1 year ago on Google
Their food is good. They also serve buffet on some select days. Their take out order format is not nice though, you'd have to give someone outside to go in and get the food for you.

  • 4/5 Prince A. 1 year ago on Google
Their customer service is great and timeous. The meals are tasty as well. It's an old ambience but still serves the purpose.

  • 4/5 Simeon Oluwatobi B. 1 year ago on Google
An indigenous restaurant for Northern delicacies like Tuwo, Semo with native soup. Rice is also available there. Point of interest is the serenity of the place with the local feel.

  • 5/5 Vahyela Luka T. 1 year ago on Google
A very nice place for food, with option for take our and delivery...it can be count among the best when it comes to Hausa food.

  • 5/5 Bashir Alhaji B. 1 year ago on Google
The food here is very delicious, satisfactory, and relatively cheap and fast service provision.

  • 2/5 Usman Musa I. 1 year ago on Google
Their food is okay but very poor service. They don't have pos or any other means of payment except cash. The worst part 😪 is their waiters will tell you that you have to pay cash before they serve you food 🗑.
