This casual dining spot is my new go-to for great fish. The food was flavorful, affordable and fresh. My friend I had a perfectly cooked plate of grilled tilapia with shrimp, while another person in our party ordered the catfish, fries and hushpuppies. Makes me hungry just thinking about it!

Enjoyed their Friday lunch deal- Fish Tacos 🌮 it was great and very filling! I'll go back again for sure!

If you’re picking up food to go I strongly recommend you make sure everything is in the bag because obviously some of the employees aren’t executing their job correctly, so now we’re frying our own chips since they forgot what comes with every order of ceviche #notmadjustdisappointed

This place is great. The caldo is probably my favorite, and my wife’s favorite is the Aguachilli verde, but I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried. Great service, and they have a full bar!

I had mistakenly asked for a fried catfish but I wanted a fried fish basket without the bones. I asked if I could change it but they said no because it was already made. I don’t know how to eat catfish with the bone. I would have paid for the difference or what I had to do, She bluntly said no. I’m not returning to fish n tails in garland. I’m sticking to the one in casa Linda staff is much nicer.

Fish N Tails in Garland charges an 18% gratuity when it's 6 or more. As you can see our ticket was a total of 3, but since my son had a seperate transaction with his kiddos and we sat together it's considered 6. I understand the gratuity, but come on this is a rip off when they only bring you the food to your table and you have to get up to get your own refill drink.

I’ve ordered to go before but we finally went to dine in around 3:30PM and had good service. Food came out in a weird order but we weren’t bothered by that since we share everything anyways. The food was delicious as well as the flavored margaritas! I like their fish and rice plates a lot so I recommend the Tilapia Trio! Coconut shrimp was nice too and the hush puppies were well seasoned! I didn’t have the bad service others are saying but will keep that in mind in the future.

At first we were shocked by the line almost out the door, but soon found out why! The food was brought out quickly and it was absolutely delicious! From the fresh and flavorful ceviche to the perfectly shucked and well portioned oysters to the Tajín rimmed balanced and tasty margarita followed up by exquisitely fried oysters and shrimp. The one thing that did shock was us that we ordered what was simply labeled “Cheesecake” on the menu, we were surprised to be served a large slice of half chocolate half original cheesecake topped with caramel, chocolate chips, and nuts. But as long as your allergies or preferences don’t get in the way, you’ll be ecstatic at how delicious this dessert will be. A+++ Absolutely wonderful and worth the wait in line.

Really great place for seafood. I got the grilled shrimp with scallops and my wife got the fried catfish and shrimp basket. Both were fantastic and the prices were really good for the amount of food you got.

One of my top 3 favorite places to go! The staff is always friendly, food comes out quickly. The shrimp is always cooked throughly. The tilapia is also pretty good with the hush puppies. They can get pretty busy but they have an big room on the other side that can accommodate more people. Always excited to go here.

Blackened cod was really good, tender and well spiced. Raw oysters were a little slimy, maybe not the freshest. Crab cakes were overdone. Ceviche, fish seemed to be boiled, no real lime flavor and no chili, just bland.

Garland location: Placed an online order and picked it up. Got home and I was given a wrong meal. We don’t live around the corner. Called and spoke with the manager, Erica. I told her that I could not go back up there and needed a refund. I wasn’t asking for a full refund, just for what I didn’t get. She told me I had to take it back up there and they would refund me or give me what I had ordered. It was THEIR mistake. I told her again that I could not go back up there. She put me on hold and then told me AGAIN that I had to go up there. No apology, no refund, not the dinner I ordered. How is it ok to tell someone that it’s ok to pay for something and not get what they ordered?! I’ve read multiple reviews and they simply do not have good customer service. Attached are the pictures of what I ordered and what I got. They want proof, here it is. I don’t expect anyone to reach out because they just have the reputation of not caring. If I could give zero stars, I would. Council members are always encouraging us to eat out in downtown Garland, but this place is not it. Edited: saved the plate of food the manager wanted me to take back and took it in the morning. Same manager was there. She took it and threw it in the trash. Didn’t care to look at it that it was wrong. She didn’t believe me yesterday, but today I guess she did. Still, no apology. Refunded me the food I didn’t get. She tried explaining me the refund, but at that point I was just over it. Later at night, got a call from another person. Her boss had given her the email I had sent in when I contacted them through their website. That person apologized and explained the refund to me. At least she tried to be nice about it. I know I’ll be one less person to patronize this place and they probably don’t care, but for what it’s worth, at least MAYBE they’ll try to do better with other people.

yeah, this is the spot. their ceviche is the best i had. does not taste fishy at all. i eat this with a red Tecate with Chile and lime, heaven!

Every time I eat at fish & tails it's dead spot on. the food is hot cooked really well very pleasing & Delicious. I was happy because on the 28th November I came for supper for my birthday & I could have went to Olive garden or had steak for my birthday but I chose Fish & Tails for my birthday to eat at because the food is really good & Fish & Tails always get out food in a reasonable manor where your not waiting a long time to get my food. So I would definitely recommend Fish & Tails For Good Hot Tasty Food. I discovered this place during the downtown Garland celebration. Some of the best fried seafood I've had in the metroplex. It's well seasoned and cooked to near perfection, in my opinion. The salads are huge. You can get cold beer if you like. Prices are reasonable, too. This place has definitely replaced my old favorite seafood spot on Greenville Ave.
