Omg!!!!!!!!! Out of this world. We got potato casseroles and beer. It was cheap and it was absolutely to die for. Its a wee family restaurant, its crazy busy but just an advice as from other reviews i can see people get a little confused about ordering etc.. so you walk in take a seat if there is one, otherwise wait until one becomes available, then ask for English menu at the till, make your order at the till, get drinks at the till, pay, take a seat and wait for your food.. also remember to clean your table when you are finish, you have to bring your plates to wee window next to the till. My absolute favourite food and place in Gdansk! 😍❤️

The staff was nice to explain to us that this is a self-service restaurant. Free seating, all menus are on the counter top, English menus available. Once you’re ready to order just proceed to the counter and place you orders to the staff. Food is prepared upon ordering and thus everything is freshly prepared and piping hot! Their pancakes and casseroles are amazing! Portion of the food is great! Once finished, remember to clear your own table and bring the dishes back to the kitchen. Toilet is clean and nice. The whole place is extremely clean and so cozy! Would love to come back again soon!

So nice we visited twice! A bar restaurant centred around various potato meals which are very filling and homely. I recommend the casserole pot pies as they are full the brim with flavour and is the perfect comfort food to pair with some potato pancakes. Incredible value for money (approx £10 per person with a large beer) and just situated off the main long market road so no walking miles to find it. Don’t question it, just visit and enjoy some potatoes!

This was our first meal in Gdańsk and I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough. The potato hotpot I had was jam packed full of flavour and was so delicious, also the perfect food for escaping the cold. All 3 dishes were spot on! Very well deserved 5 star and would definitely visit again.

All dishes are potato based which is the main concept. Placki ziemniaki was crispy and good, the rest were okay

Food is veryvery delicious. But I would reccomend to take small portion, it's huge. They serve dishes only from potatoes. Potatoes slices, called Talary pyrowe was very delicious. Second time we visited and tried OCB, ir was potatoe parts with sauce served next to it. Also tried Baba od rzeznika, very good potatoe pie with chicken meat inside and mouth melting sauce with mushrooms. ! Btw. Very good toilet. They have baby diaper changing table, with Wet napkins and even sanitary pads and hygiene things for women.

Great food, high class for good prices. Place is filled with funny potato word plays and pop culture references, if you understand Polish that is :). They even have a potato themed colouring picture, thought of everything...

I simply can't stress enough how tasty the food here is. It makes me so happy to have a place that serves typical Polish food, which tastes exactly like what I remember from my childhood.

The food was filling and the price was alright. The staff was kind! However, I found the food to be a little bland. Not a lot of taste in the potato casseroles. Next time I’d try a potato pancake!

I was there last week and ordered smoked salmon casserole. Cold smoked salmon under hot bechamel sauce with lots of potatoes. Everything there seems fatty, dipped in oil though. I think they should remove this dish from the menu. Because the taste of smoked salmon doesn't add to this dish. "Salad of the day" was like some dressing instead of salads. However, other dishes are absolutely good and tasty.

Delightful food, came out quickly and the prices for what you get are amazing. Be warned, potatoes are very filling, something me and my partner forgot as most of the food in the picture came home with us!

Such a cool place specialising in potato dishes. Allergens really clearly labelled and easily caters for gluten free/coeliac with separate fryers and lots GF dishes. Really reasonably priced and quick service.

Very good food. Order at the bar and tell them the number on your table. Paid less than 100 PLN for two meals and two large beers. Great bang for the bucks 👌

Pyra Bar was my last lunch before leaving Gdansk. And what a good choice! Little and modern place. I really love its food which is typical polish. Firstly you should order and pay at the bar. The service is quite fast.

The food was tasty and the lunch menu is a good deal. The ambiance is not the best, but for the price and location, its worth it

This is a fantastic place for all things Potato! Decent options also for vegetarians. The potato pancakes are recommended as they're both crunchy and soft but be warned, they're very heavy on the oil.. still highly recommend!

Yummy! Traditional Polish food based on potatoes! The interior is amazing! Modernised Polish 80s style (communism times). Very affordable and big portions, nice selection of drinks. Located in the old town, close to the Shakespeare’s theatre. It’s a self service place, you sit at the table where you get the menu and you have to go to the counter to order food and tell them your table number. They bring food to your table. You can tell that the food is fresh and cooked while you wait. You can also pay by card 👍🏻 totally recommend!

The food here is so good! Very potato based... An Irish tourist's dream 😄. We had the potato casserole (bacon, mushrooms, onions, cheese, potatoes) was reminiscent of dishes we've tried in ski resorts in the Alps (but less than half the price) and large homemade chips which were amazing and the biggest portion of chips I've ever seen. The chicken salad was also extremely good, the chicken had a barbecued flavour, even the salad dressing was nicer than many I've had. The portions were huge and the prices really good. One star lost because the staff were not very friendly...Kind of short/snappy and expressionless, no warmth. However that is not unusual for Gdansk, we noticed.

A place that specialises in all things potato 🥔 simple and delicious food. We all had to potato pancakes which were wonderfully tasty and light. Absolutely massive portions and we had to go for a long walk afterwards. It was too good to leave any behind. A good introduction to polish potato foods with lots of sauces to choose from.

Would have given it 5 stars had it not been for the jacket potatoes that I found to be a little bland - you can chalk that up to my general affinity for spicier and more flavorful food. The casserole was amazing and I wish we had ordered more instead of the fries. I think polish food tends to have less salt so I used more table salt than I have previously ever used at a restaurant. Would def come back now that I know what to order.

The food and hot pear cider here are so good! It is amazing all the wonderful things they make with potatoes. The potato slices were also delicious with tzatziki. My main dish was potato pancakes with salmon and lemon and dill cream. Excellent! My partner had potato dumplings with sauerkraut and sausage, which was also excellent. They had English speaking staff and an English menu when we went there for dinner which was very helpful. Don't forget to clear your own dishes before you go.

We, a couple with regular expectations, found Pyrabar on Instagram and when looking at the pictures, I knew it was a place that I would love to eat at! The photos on the Instagram looked very high quality food and well presented. It was sad that this was not the reality. Firstly, the menu options are very small. Secondly, the menu was very hard to read, even though it was the English menu that was given to us. Nothing on the menu made sense. Even though their were English food items, we just could not make out what the food dish could be with the way that it was written. Thirdly, young people who ran the restaurant were not friendly or helpful. Fourthly when it was time to close the waitresses started turning the lights off around us and we were not completed with the meal. Perhaps this could have been mentioned before we ordered if they were going to close soon. Lastly, and most importantly, the food. The food looked NOTHING like the professionally posted instagram pictures, and certainly tasted terrible. The food was just a heated up dish. Sorry to say but we would never go here again.

Amazing experience! It was my first time eating polish food. We had the "Baba od rzeźnika", "Pyranek" and homemade fries. I would highly recommend the "Baba od rzeźnika"!! It was delicious! The second time we went here, we had Poprosię and Piwo (hot beer with orange and cloves)! Piwo was surprisingly great! it's like the beer version of mulled wine. Ambience was great too, with soft music in the background.
