One among the must place to visit in Penang. Location of the temple will gives you a spiritual feeling with a calm down from the town and so close to the nature. Monkeys can spotted through out the temple premises as its seems a natural habitat. We have to climb steps as like Batu caves and once reaching top an excellent place of worship with an amazing birds eye view of Penang. It’s preferable to visit during the mornings and evenings as some quality time can be spent in a calm environment. Thaipusam festival is widely celebrated here attracting pilgrims from all over Penang.

First time I'm here. To go up it's 500 steps. Take ur time and enjoy the scenic quiet cool atmosphere. Once up, the mighty kuil stands above you majestically. I come to understand the Thaipusam is celebrated in this temple grandly. I would like to visit it during thaipusam.

Lord Muruga well decorated in the form of MahaRaja is the greatest feast to the eyes and soul. Lord Muruga symbolizes Beauty. Very Well connected by road. Neat and clean environment . Very well ventilated and maintained. There are other exclusive sannathis for Lord Ayyapa Lord karuppusamy. Historical place. If you have an opportunity must visit this temple. 🕉️Muruga🕉️

Ah yes I walked past this here place....lovely weather then...road was decently tarred with no visible accident-prone potholes. Recommend walking past it once awhile

Somehow Thaipusam and fulfilling vows just better here making the travel from KL worth it. Better managed overall, devotees are generally orderly with little rubbish thrown as they please comparatively less than in Bt Caves. The annadhanam(food donation) is well done, feeding thousands, don't think any does it better on this scale.

Really great Temple when a long flight of stairs to get up to. Personally I really enjoyed the climb but it is pretty long so others may not. The temple at the top isn't very big but it's definitely a cool place to visit. Highly recommend.

This is a very unique temple.. You got to hike up 500 steps staircase to get up the. Even Batucaves Murugan temple has only 275 steps. The pooja starts at 730am right aftr the 1st Lord Ganesha pooja at the footage of this temple. Dont forget to check out Lord Shiva’s temple on your way back.

This temple is very wide to the back, and the decoration of the ceiling and relief carvings tell us about its long history. When in Thaipusam festival,I was impressed by the devotion of Hindus.

Beautiful temple amongst nature. The walk up itself is so rejuvenating in that it makes a person go into deep reflection. Have been here several times. But I request temple authorities to update information in Google. Went up today June 21, 2023 and since the website said open 24 hours I walked up around 3.30pm. I reached up almost 4.05pm but the temple was closed. So thinking they may open at 4.30 like other temples, I waited but they did not open. Tried calling the listed number but there was no answer as well. So after about half an hour, I just stood outside the closed door, prayed and left. Wasn't disappointed as I enjoyed the nature anyway. But still it's best to keep the information in Google updated please.

Although I'm native Penangnite, I never step in to this beautiful India temple before. You must visit this temple which has beautiful building and breath breaking scenery. During MCO only open from 6:30am to 10am.

It was spiritually nourishing. We started at the Ganesha shrine, at bottom of the hill. The weather was kind as it was cloudy. We started our steps upwards. Along the way some quotes that provoke reflection are shared on the journey towards the main shrine. There is some spots of shade from the trees. At the top, the steps open up to a wide receiving area leading to the centre entrance of the main shrine. We were certainly blessed to have caught the beginning of an Abishegum. Something most devotees try very hard to attend. At the end of the abhishegum around 11.40 am were were invited to share in the prasadam. The shrines closes until evening. During the walk down, again there are thought provoking/enlightining words shared on the down ward path. The temple is also immersed in nature. Did not see the waterfall but felt the serenity of the mountain and the mantras. You have to be physically able to climb those stairs up to the hill. Bring a bottle of water. A hat can always help, just be respectful and remove it before entering the temple.

Wonderful place to step into the mythical world of one of the oldest belief systems in the world. It's an opportunity to see at first hand how our ancestors 4000 years ago performed prayers and how this practice is followed till today. Truly amazing!

I went during the evening. I must say it's breath taking view and the temple was so beautiful. Hence, it's a hill top temple so you've got to climb 300 steps or more and if you're hanging out in Penang Island add this temple visit in your list too. *feeling blessed!

👍👍 Beneath the golden hues of twilight's embrace, I wander the Esplanade, a tranquil space. Amidst the laughter of locals and tourists near, Nature's symphony and history's whispers I hear.
