If you are just having kuih on vacation, this won't take such a big bite out of your travel budget. It is located walking distance behind the Rich Wives market of Pulau Tikus, opposite the police station. Double portions of Nyonya kuih are RM2.50 per pack, not dissimilar in price to KL's Nyonya Colours but substantially better tasting from freshly baked ingredients. At RM1.25 a piece, it's size was double that of Chulia Street Moh Teng Pheow factory outlet offering. Recipe made a difference to its rendition of Kuih Bengka Ubi (tapioca) with more desiccated coconut in its starchy chew, rather different from the kuih my mum once bought from Chowrasta market. Buy a pack of 5 assorted for RM6. Also offered are experimental multi-coloured Mochi with various fillings for the sweet-toothed, a recipe far from the oishii Japanese delicacy, only for diabetics with hara-kiri on their minds. While it is common sense to be pork free for Nyonya kuih making, today's promoter was plugging the siew bao. Pork free siew bao just does not make any Charsiew sense and it's a slippery slope to compete with Hong Kong's Char Chan Teng menu. Stick to what Nyonya knows best with pulut, sago, tapioca and Gula Melaka please...

This is one of the best place to get your nyonya kuihs in Penang Island. Some items are even better than Nyonya Colours. The cafe is clean, cosy and most importantly air conditioned. They offer wide range of kuih and snack but I'll share what I tried instead. Nasi Lemak is nice, the sambal is unique because they added lemon grass which gives it that unmistakable fragrance. Simple and nice. Very true to nyonya flavours. The Yam Cake texture is near perfect for me, I'm not a fan of the usual potato like texture. This one is more like smooth kuih with generous bits of Yam. The chili sauce that came with it was a perfect combination. Must try. The kuih talam, seri muka, koh swee, "huat kuih" and "malai gou" was really good too. Those with green layers are natural pandan extracts. Awesome! However, the curry puffs was normal only. Drinks too are OK, nothing that caught our attention. Overall, they is good and most of the kuihs offered are top notch.

1st of all, when i reached this cafe they put notice says they were close for 2 days (they only post it on their fb page, maybe is better to change the operating hours in google maps too next time). I being told by the staff in the restaurant that they have another outlet open at queensbay mall until 10pm. But when i reach the queensbay mall outlet around 6pm, the staff told me that a lot of dishes is sold out. I being told that all of their dishes are pre-cooked and bring it thr to sell until is finish. I abit curious that what is the point that your cafe open until 10pm and most of the food are not available for customer on 6pm? Lastly i just get a tomyam mihun and mochi, the mihun soso and same as the mochi, there are 3 flavour, chocalate, peanut and red bean (rm10 for total) Reply: thanks for the reply, but the prob is your staff should be aware bout this. By mentioning the restaurant open until 10pm, customer will expect they still can eat by 9pm. You staff should at least remind next time that the food at QB mall will be first come first serve basis. And most of the food will be sold out after XX time. Btw your P.tikus staff also not really friendly

Very authentic nonya kuihs. Not cheap but slices are more generous than the famous one on Chulia Street. They take orders for festivals or parties. Arrangements of kuihs are nice. Now apart from selling kuihs, they also run a cafe where you can sit down and have a drink.

We placed an order for collection and everything went smoothly. We ordered a kuih platter, tomyam beehoon, a pastry platter (curry puffs, steamed yam cake, and fried turnip cake), and roti jala with curry chicken. Wow! Not only the presentation was beautiful and vibrant, the food tasted fresh and delicious. Everything had their unique flavours and it was suitable for everyone: the elderly and the young ones. Nothing was overly sweet or spicy. Everything had a good balance of flavours and textures. The price was reasonable too. Highly recommend this place for authentic Nyonya cuisine.

Tasty lunch dishes (they also do breakfast, sets available for both), and of the nyonya kuih we've tried (which is admittedly not that many), these are the best. They use little sugar, which really lets the flavour of the rice, coconut, and so on come through. First time I've really enjoyed them as sweets, beyond just as a novel, interesting dish to try. Pretty cheap, too, given that we tried as many varieties as possible. Seems to have been refurbished recently, good look to the place. Makes a good combo with a visit to the colonial museum nearby.

The Nyonya kuih from Li Er Cafe is top notch! The best Nyonya kuih I have ever had so far! On top of the Nyonya Kuih, they also serve a variety of scrumptious Nyonya/ local food like Tomyam Bihun, Nyonya Curry Mee, Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Ayam Rendang, Nasi Lemak Ayam Rempah. They even provide attractive and gorgeous custom platter, corporate order, catering service. You can also order their food via delivery. If you want to dine in and enjoy their food at a great instagrammable environment, you can choose to go to their Georgetown outlet - Nyonya Palazzo which offers rich Peranakan culture!

Great service… attentive and friendly staffs.. To be honest, we didn’t eat on the spot or on the day itself we bought it.. we actually brought back to KL and just manage to taste it after two days (+the day we bought it which meaning that we makan after 3days🫣).. Guess what, it still tasted so nice.. and the texture still fine and won’t dry like others kuih.. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The Nonya Kuihs are so good that we returned to the cafe to buy back home and ate on the plane. The young owner is super friendly. A cosy atmosphere for eating in too. A must go if you are in town.

A bit pricy for the food. Good presentation but taste ok and no wow factor. A lot of rice and carbs. Food taste ok. Customise to request. Lady boss is nice.

Found another old school nyonya kuih place in Penang...something that's gonna extinct if this tradition is not preserved. Too many choices to select and wasn't that hungry... definitely will try other selections next time round.

Pulau Tikus, Penang, Malaysia. Visited on 23012924 after went to the bank and drop by for the lunch. They have renovated and it is nicely done. We love their design and of course not to mention their food which is as usual delicious.

Memorable nyonya bihun, wide selection of kuihs. Be early as the selections run out quick.

Quaint cafe I stumbled into. Had the Nonya Laksa. Flavourful served with 2 type of noodles and 1 prawn. Seems very popular for their kuehs.

Newly renovated and more spacious. Changed their concept from an authentic coffee shop style to a cafe style. Food is good as usual, but beverages have limited choices—only one option of coffee (3 in1 white coffee), no more milk tea. Only serve fusion designer tea and kombucha.

Very good nynonya kuih. Loved the tomyam meehoon and nasi kunyit with curry chicken. They also do platters for full moon and parties.

Authentic taste of nyonya food! Best and most fragrant kuih talam I’ve ever tasted in my life! And the rest of the assorted nyonya kuihhhhh, awesome taste! Also, they have super cool nyonya boutique on ground floor!

Had an extremely bad experience at the cafe with a cashier who appears to be a racist. After accepting payment she kept casting looks at my partner and not attending to my purchase and handing over what i had bought. After we exited the shop and were strolling down the pathway she exited the shop and ran after us and told us the money we paid was fake! Money we had got from a bank atm! Such treatment is uncalled for. Is it because we are of a different race? Extremely upset about such behaviour from a fellow Malaysian in our multicultural society.

Was brought here by our driver when we told him we were looking to buy some Nonya kueh! The outlet we went to didn’t have the option to dine in (they mentioned they have another outlet that does) so we bought a mix of kueh to bring back to our hotel to try - everything we bought was so good and fresh. It was also nice that the kueh wasn’t overly sweet!

Stumbled upon this cafe by chance, after patronizing the Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng. Ordered the Nasi Kerabu and Carrot Cake. Am impressed with both the colorful presentation and taste of the Nasi Kerabu. Served with flakes of fish meat and other condiments such as ulam, sambal and crispy crisps, you basically toss and mix all there is on the plate before savoring it. The Carrot Cake is served in small portion (4 square pieces), crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Nice ambience, walls are adorned with pictures of actual food and nyonya kuih platters, creating just the right nyonya peranakan feel.

There are many types of Nyonya Kuih available here. The food here taste good but the portion is too small for the price. Parking can be found in the market area.

👍👍 I recommend to walk the whole way from Upper Station to this cafe (+-1.9km). You will stop few times on cute things that you might miss if u took the buggy. But they also provide FREE Buggy to and from the cafe so... no need to spend 30RM on the normal buggy.

🫤 Overrated. Tried pork leg rice, Penang loh mee and Penang style CCF, all were subpar. Pork leg rice - Quite bland. The egg used was not even a proper lu-dan (soy egg), just a plain hard boiled egg. They did not even serve it with salted vege. Not good and not authentic. Penang loh mee - I'm a...
