Cosy place to sit inside and outside. Although I didn't eat here, I saw that the dining room was packed. I really recommend the tapas to share, it's worth the money. A lot of students come here, and the neighborhood is really nice.

What a surprise in Ghent. A fantastic bar where you can have decent food (I took the Chili con Carne deluxe) in a kind of old house, messy decorated. A grand bazar that just make you comfortable. A very warm, relax atmosphere. All ages, genders and types meet here. Just come without any pretense and you'll fit in

I really love this place, the staff is friendly and helpful. The food is great and the dish of the day is always a success. There are some tables at the back, near the pool table, if you want to sit in a more quiet area. The front, at the bar, may be more animated. You'll also find some games for children there.

If you're a traveler, don't come here. No menu I a any language but Flemish. Very slow service and not worth it as a whole. There are many other places nearby that are better.

Nice pub. Average prices could be slightly lower, but that's okay, you pay for quality in the end. The dishes are good, the spaces are large and the staff are always friendly.

Nice atmosphere and a good selection of beers. Maybe a bit too crowded at times, as you might not find a place to sit.

De walrus an iconic and historical bar at the riverbanks of the coupure. You can expect a friendly talk with one of the waiters, a delicious and vegeterian 'dagschotel' that even meatlovers cannot resist and a cosy atmosphere. A place where the neighbourhood comes together hidden away for tourists. I can definitely recommend this bar for just a quick lunch but also for an evening drinking with friends.

Good ambience, polite staff. The dish of the day - soup with courgette and fries was great! Lovely garlic mayo. Beer was good. They also have a pool table and possibility to play some board games.

Very nice place with good, cozy atmosphere. Tasty food (soup of the day is very nice choice!) big selection of drinks, possibility to play pool! Love it and will come back

Brownish eating bar, seems untouched as for the interiour decoration. Very student-ish and unfortunately the staff isn't very friendly and seem uninterested in their surroundings. When people come into your bar you greet them or have at least eye contact with your customers. In a bar like this you need the owner itself behind the counter. Which makes a big difference. Luckily for them students are not too picky.

Cosy bar where you can have a small course to eat. You can get sandwiches, some pasta and a "plat du jour". You can compare this with an Irish pub but Flemish.

You should try their plate of the day. The one we ate was very tasty and inordinary. The tahini-honing sauce was perfect with the potatoes.

amount and quality of the food was outragous bad they aren't able to make a proper ham and cheese sandwich and the salad without dressing just bad and we waited for ages even for the drinks never going here again never have eaten so bad

Never had a bad 'plate of the day'. It's always a mix of different things I haven't really eaten that way. Very fair price, portion perfect. My go to place if I want a non-fast food meal for a nice price in Ghent.

Found this place by accident and just had a quick coffee. Barista was very nice and friendly. Cool atmosphere.

Really nice terrace in the back and nice space inside too. Better people. Food is nice, from 10 to 15eur the dish and te best is the "dish of the day", which is 12eur and full of food.

5 out of 5 stars!!! Very good food especially for the vegetarians, vegans and all between. Also the people are very friendly. Would recommend!

Very nice 'bruin café'. The daily menu is always original and most of the time vegetarian (vegan?). Nice place to hang out with some friends and have a good time. If you have a kid, there's a little play corner as well.

A place that Ghent needs. Folk, warm and welcoming. The dish of the day never disappoints and is really worth the price-quality. The hospitality with which you are served makes you feel chez vous. There is love and soul in the environment. Already looking forward to the next time I get to slide my feet under the table at the walrus, go there with your loved ones during these cold days :-) tip: Get that croque monsieur with local sourdough bread from Bakker Klaas!!
