Magnificent,
inspiring,
intriguing,
unforgettable,
un-missable.
This
is
a
very
special
place
and
is
highly
recommended
for
the
whole
family.
Well
preserved
and
restored
ancient
abbey
buildings.
Intricate
planning,
river
re-routing,
and
construction
of
the
gardens,
pond,
fish
pool,
and
water
flows.
Insightful
glimpse
into
a
thousand
years
of
local
history.
Beautiful
gardens
with
lawn,
seats,
ancient
trees,
water
features,
beautiful
scenery.
Fascinating
ancient
stonework
which
illustrates
the
wealth,
organisation,
and
artistic
appreciation
of
the
Cistercian
monks.
There
are
several
art
installations
which
I
found
superfluous,
dated,
and
out
of
context
-
arguably
it
emphasizes
the
contrast
to
the
current
era.
I
could
have
spent
hours
here,
but
in
the
French
way,
it
closes
for
lunch
at
noon
:-(
I
will
return
with
all
my
guests
from
now
on.
Ample
parking,
moderately
accessible,
€6
standard
admission.
As
an
added
bonus,
walk
around
the
outer
periphery
from
the
overflow
carpark,
including
the
forest
walk
behind
the
walled
garden.
