Gorgeous rooftop restaurant. I only went to the hotel for a lunch and it definitely was worth it. Delicious buffet lunch and exceptional service from the staff. Would highly recommend it.

Ubumwe Grande Hotel was superb with their hospitality and good customer service. Prompt to respond and their rooms are wonderful. With a beautiful views of the Kigali city. If you’re scared of heights do keep your windows blinded down or preferably choose the lower floors.

This very neat hotel is one of the tallest plazas in Kigali. The exciting thing is that it has excellent professional staff that are always eager to satisfy their customers. The facilities are also beautiful and the rooms and beds are nice. We used one of the conference centres and enjoyed great hospitality though their WiFi became epileptic in one of the days. Generally, thus is a good place to stay.

I was delighted with my stay at Ubumwe Grande. The staff is extremely friendly, polite and helpful. My room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The biggest highlight was the tasty breakfast (and lovely coffee). I also enjoyed the pool and the view. I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kigali.

Great hotel. Located smack in the center of the CBD. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean! The rooftop pool and restaurant were convenient and the staff was very friendly. I think the hotel needs to work on their food, as it was below average in my opinion. Additionally, the ground floor bar/cafe could be made much better!

When we arrived the rooms where not ready. The front desk staff (Danial) seems not to care about how several of us were in convenience. While we where waiting for our rooms - we simply asked for water, that took 30 min to arrive. After a long flight you just expect good service - but not here.

The rooms were nice and the views are good of the city. Staff are friendly although lacking in any real drive or sense of urgency. When it rains there is a strong drain smell which seems fairly unavoidable. The restaurant upstairs however is terrible, all the food is poorly prepared or is not close the the menu description. Everyone from my company has had bad food here that has made them sick. If you don't eat at the hotel it's actually pretty good, but they really do need to sort it out.

Ubumwe grande hotel is not really so grand. My room did not have air-conditioning for the entire 7 days I was there and all they offered me was a free ride for the inconvenience. 76 (25) degrees was the coldest the room got. They also charged me $5 for the minibar and I did not touch anything in the fridge. And then it took about 20 minutes on the phone with somebody to remove the charge. The breakfast is pretty good. The difference in price to the Marriott is not that much and the Marriott hotel in Kigali is 10,000 times nicer and better. Definitely try to get a room at the Marriott if possible instead. It is actually ridiculously insane how much nicer the Marriott hotel is- inside and outside.

Edit: Final Review after 30 days stay. Some improvement was noted after I last posted. It's supposed to be 4 star. I have been to a 3 star hotel that is better and for a lower price too hahaha. -Food quality and variety: score 3.5/5 that's 3 and half stars since the chef offered monotony during breakfast. -Staff are polite 4/5 ****4 stars -Rooms are ok 3.9 stars. The room was so clean with perfect view (if u r on 10th floor). But they keep switching off the hot water to save on electricity bills. My previous review below was after complaining 3 times.👇🏾 No hot water from 🚿 shower. If you want to shower anytime in morning or late evening you have 50:50 chance of either getting lukewarm water or cold water. Client suffers as they attempt to save on costs.

My stay at Ubumwe was a complete nightmare, Stella(one of the staff) who was super rude and disrespectful made me feel very uncomfortable, I felt unsafe there and ended up leaving before my checkout time. Had the worst stay

I'm not a hotel critic, just a regular guest. Even so I can definitely say - stay away from this hotel. I got to a room with no hot water (lukewarm in certain hours at best), a male-functioning safe that wasn't bolted to the wall, a sofa cushion that was upside down due to a nasty stain on the other side, and above all - a hotel staff that keeps letting me know everything is fixed (I was out for meeting) while nothing is fixed. If I wasn't tired, I would have moved hotels in the middle of the night. The breakfast is very bland and there are almost no choices of food. In plain words - you better find another hotel. The 5 stars ones are just a little more expensive but far better.

One of the strategically built hotel in Kigali. Once you are here and especially at the roof top, the whole of kigali is almost yours. At night, you can getting the captivating views of kigali lights. The drinks, food and the staff, I can't tell it all and finish.

Awesome! They have large fully operated windows and open upon request. It's the best place to enjoy the fresh night air and beautiful night view of Kigali.Food and alcohol are not expensive either. I highly recommend it.

I didn’t live in the rooms, of course. I just wanted to eat in restaurant and came here. They brought the pizza burnt after 45 minutes, and they don’t know how to make a latte at all. Even the avocado was unripe... I better buy two slices of pizza in Simba near here next time.

Overly eager waiters who circle like vultures and they overcooked everything from the chicken curry to the beef chops to the carrot and caramel cakes; the cakes were simply dry. The only thing nice was the mousse. The view was amazing and we were happy to pay for that.

Rooms were great along with service. However the rooftop restaurant wasn't great everything tasted the same. Breakfast was good on the 1st floor. My recommendation would be to fond a new chef.

In the heart of the capital city of Rwanda, this hotel is simply SPECTACULAR... and yes, does offer an awesome view of the city of Kigali on their rooftop restaurant... all i can say is, BrEaThTaKiNg...

The hotel was beautiful and modern with a very accommodating staff especially Daniel. We had a bad plumbing smell in the initial room we checked in and they were able to move us immediately. The 2nd room the smell wasn’t as strong. There were some overall issues with the AC that made it hot in the evening. The breakfast was great each morning with a very attentive team of chefs and servers. We loved the rooftop and the wonderful views of Rwanda. We would stay here again if we are back in Rwanda.

The place is a heaven in on earth. It's beautiful ladened with modern edifices. The staff there are professional and the room service is beyond excellence. They have a grand pool, restaurant and an ultramodern gym at the rooftop. It's homestead. The location is super with enough security measures to ensure your safety.

This is a Lovely hotel with awesome meeting rooms. Like in most hotels I have seen in Kigali, they keep to the standards in the industry. They serve some good food both local and continental. It's easily accessible and close to the Mille Collines. A lovely place for a getaway in the city.

They have double charged me and I have not been paid back. Whenever I call, they let me wait and promise to call back. They never call back. My e-mails are unanswered. What is wrong with the Management at this hotel?

The experience I had at the rooftop restaurant of Ubumwe Hotel was extremely disappointing. Despite the breathtaking views of the city from the rooftop, the quality of the food and service left a lot to be desired. To start with, the menu was very limited, and the dishes that were available were quite expensive, which made me expect high-quality food. However, when the food arrived, it was cold and lacked flavor. I was disappointed by the behavior of one of the waiters. While setting up our table, the waiter threw the table mat onto the table in a careless manner, which was not only unprofessional but also disrespectful to the guests. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at the rooftop restaurant of Ubumwe Hotel. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good dining experience. The food was subpar and overpriced, and the service was slow and unresponsive. I hope this review will be helpful for others considering dining at the rooftop restaurant of Ubumwe Hotel. It is important for restaurants to maintain high service standards and train their staff to behave professionally and respectfully towards customers.

My stay was really pleasant. The room was very clean and the staff was very nice to me... Especially Solange whom I thank a lot.

All the staff from the gate, to the reception, restaurant are very courteous. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment that is fully equipped from the kitchen, leaving room and bedrooms. Stella, Ryan, Kevin, Christine, Brian, Catherine, Christine the Chef, Christian made our stay awesome, home away from home. The highlight was the breakfast that had lots of variety to choose from.

Our hotel stay here was good. The staff are very helpful. Not necessarily the friendliest people but they're professional. The food at the hotel is not good. The bar couldn't make a simple iced coffee. I had to send the room service food twice so I would say skip that.
