A lovely hotel with all amenities necessary for a good night's stay. Although a robe and slippers would be a welcomed amenity. HOWEVER... this is a top hotel and how can you not offer USB outlets... It's ridiculous. This is why I gave you three-stars. I love a good air con system, and it was lovely in my rooms 401 and 533, booked two separate nights. Had breakfast downstairs and although it's a bit expensive, USD22, it's almost the average price at major hotels. The food choices are varied and good. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The outdoor dining area is lovely. The pool has two sectors and there is something for everyone. The gym is well-equipped!

Overall one of the great experiences. Rooms where spacious and clean, love the lobby and buffet area and service. Only recommendation is a shower mat as it was slippery without one

It's great if working with the nearby embassies. It seems to host many diplomats & conferences. The service may be a little slow. If short on time, choose your order wisely. They serve Question coffee and the cappuccinos are delicious. The staff is happy to share the story behind the coffee. You can also purchase some. I enjoyed the outside patio.

From our arrival to departure our experience was exceptional! The hotel staff was very friendly, warm welcoming. Everyone one we came in contact with has the same customer service. This is the 1st hotel I have stayed with that everyone has the same positive vibes. They were very accommodating and treated us with the upmost respect. Everyone on staff deserves 5 stars!! I will be recommending this hotel to my family and friends when they come to visit! Thank you Marriott Kigali!

Beautiful, comfortable. Pricey, as expected but good value for money. You’re sure to meet a host of different nationals here on their various business. Their airport transfer service is quite pricey, you might want to make your own arrangements. I’ll recommend the spa service if you’re too lazy to go into town. The gym was ok.

Truly a 5 Star hotel‼️worth every cent! The staff are very very very friendly. They made sure we all compiled to Covid19 rules and regulations. We all had to wear our mask at all times. The hotel is very clean 👌. The cleaners work literally every 15mins. The lift is so clean you'll not see finger prints! Toilets are clean with nice fragrance. Accessible for wheelchair. Gosh! I ❤ their pillow! As soon as your head is on the pillow, you are in 'sleep enjoyment kingdom'. Come join me ✌

Exceptional full service hotel in town. Conference and spa facilities along with several very good dinning options. The executive lounge is one of the nicest we've seen globally with full evening meal service. Great property.

Very nice hotel. The building is huge, well decorated. The grounds are well kept. It is a very inviting place. The breakfast buffet was nice. The bed wasn't that great. The pillows were those really flat, feathery things that feel useless. The bed and pillows did not seem to match the rest of the experience at the hotel.

Kigali Marriott is a great hotel with contemporary architecture and beautiful views of the city of Kigali. The hotel offers great buffet breakfast with lots of English and French breakfast options and fresh fruits and juices. My experience at the hotel is nothing short of amazing however, what would have made my experience more amazing is the availability of African especially Nigerian dishes. It’s a pricey hotel but worth every cent! Absolutely recommend ✅

When I read bad reviews about this hotel, I wonder if we were at the same place. I’ve been to many hotels and many Marriotts. The Kigali Marriott is on top of my list. Super-friendly staff, great food. I was upgraded to a suite with a huge balcony and a view of the city. The room was very clean and well equipped with clean, soft white towels, toothbrush and toothpaste, comb, luffa, comb, etc.., espresso coffee machine. The cleaning staff also left a personal note after cleaning the room the first day. The bar is well equipped. The food is delicious: of course, they have to please an international clientele so it is varied. The staff really go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. I strongly recommend this hotel.

With massive space both in the reception area and the rooms, excellent Internet services and near uninterrupted power and utilities supply, Kigali Marriot can pass fir a five star. Maintenance of a very neat surroundings in the rooms and around the hotel, good dishes than span accross national boundaries and professional staff that go out of their way to meet their clients' needs stand the hotel out. After one week stay, I was not bored. I felt at home.

My stay at the Kigali Marriott Hotel was exceptional, thanks to the warm and friendly staff, immaculate cleanliness, and amazing room service dining options. The baked tilapia is a must-try! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Kigali.

My son’s only request for his birthday was to stay at the Marriott. I decided to share with Nora Jambazian and she went above and beyond. She had her staff put balloons and a cake in the room with his name on it. He was completely blown away. Thank you Nora and team for making my son feel so special.

One of the best hotel in Kigali. Swimming pool and Gym are nice. Many restaurants in hotel Marriott presents an opportunity to enjoy varied type of food options. Staff is very friendly. I vehemently recommend staying at Marriott in Kigali.

The hotel is really nice and the staff super friendly, but the service is not at all efficient...it took more than an hour and a few calls to get an incomplete food order in my room (it also happened during a previous stay). I asked for the missing items (including salt) it took an additional 30min. It's unfortunate that such (important) details are missing...

The hotel is a top notch in Kigali, sitting alongside the best in Rwanda. It’s a 5 star service hotel with rooms ranging from single double bed room to presidential suites. They have swimming pools, open air dining, conference halls, meeting halls, and private offices too. The cleanliness, interiors, aesthetics, and overall ambience of the hotel, from the waiting lobby, to the hotel rooms is just to the mark. The guest parking options and valet parking service, everything has quite a Marriotesque charm. The current prices for a single room is around US$ 170-180. The parking is quite big, and there’s another reserve parking too to accommodate for VIPs. There are a couple of restaurants too at the ground floor. They both are decent. They have their separate reviews. It’s one of the best hotels in Kigali I can say with confidence.

Wonderful and creatively appealing location. The pool view from the outside terrace is ao beautiful. Also warm staff at the dining section always asking if i wanted more were just the best.

They have the worst service. Their waiters don't have accurate information of what's on the menu and such. They charged us 122,000rwf ( 120$) extra and they didn't have a resolution for that. One of their agents had the audacity to gaslight us and minimized the issue as tho 120$ wasn't a lot to pay. It seemed to me like something they are used to doing. Like they are comfortable overcharging customers and don't have a refund policy. I think 5 stars is simply the building and the name. But service is zero. And some of their food is horrible 😕

Five stars hotel in the capital city of beautiful Rwanda. Very good kitchen, especially in the Italian restaurant that offers, among the other things, a good pizza.

Hotel is well appointed, with level of service as expected for this class of hotel. There are gardens which are a hidden gem. Kudos go to Manager Gilbert who went beyond call of duty to rectify some slip-ups.

Hotel was really beautiful and rooms were great. Food was ok. Most disappointing part was the service. Only have one baby feeding chair with working straps which was quite badly stained. Other two chairs had no straps. For a major hotel chain this is unacceptable. Staff don’t seem to enjoy being asked for anything and rarely smile. Asked for mashed potatoes on first night and pre ordered for the children for a certain time. When we got to the restaurant nothing had been ordered and we had to wait for 30 mins for it. Restaurant staff are not attentive to customers and you have to constantly look for one to get service and when you do it feels like you are disturbing them. However the restaurant manager did attempt to make things better once I raised it with him.

This Marriott feels like it is the navel of this part of town, elegant, quiet, spacious, and it smells nice! Great rooms (bed and conferencing), friendly service, and very tasty food.

Food was ok the server was great and we asked for a baby chair and we was told they only have 2 and are all reserved, how does a 5star hotel have that. I recommend it for everyone but parents with babies stay away

Our stay was short but I must say we really Enjoyed our stay snd it is quite a beautifil hotel. I will defenitley be back on next visit to the motherland. the room was clean and looked very nice. We had a room with a balcony on a upper floor and a view of the chinese compund in front. the view was nice of the sourrounding aeras of the city in the morning and at night. The food was tasty in my opinion we had the dinner buffet and the breakfast buffet. The selection of fruits was what got my attention it was perfect. Lots of options to choose from in both buffets. I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Kigali. Yes the price can be higher than other hotels in the area but you really get what you pay for. The pool looked nice. during our visit it was closed at night I am not sure the times to be exact. The staff were very nice and very helpfull I would sugget not to think twice when booking this place.

Everyone is polite, helpful and kind.

I had a dinner buffet at this prestigious hotel during my stay in Kigali. Inasmuch as I didn't lodge or spend the night there, I could tell that it was a spectacular hotel from the ambience I felt. The buffet was exceptional and the huge variety on the menu was also commendable. I would definitely stop by once again I'm in Kigali

Despite all the Covid related restrictions, this hotel is a gem. The hotel is in a walk friendly part of Kigali. From the moment we checked in, staff was great. Kids enjoyed the pool and brunch. Have the spicy tea from the coffee shop and you will keep coming back for more. I specially enjoyed the Christmas pop up they had in the lobby with all the sweet goodies. We will come back again. The service at the Italian restaurant was exceptional. My 2 boys probably caused some noise issues but the associate that waited on us was gracious. The food was great as well.

The service is OK. Stayed here a few times and the cleanliness of the rooms is a bit inconsistent. Also, one day the parking assistance told me to park in one place but then said they made a mistake and I had to park somewhere else, and then when i went into the hotel they ran after me and said they made the same mistake apparently again and so I had to move my car again. At least Sunday brunch is good but music way to loud. Don't love this hotel quality.

Full function big business hotel. But very friendly staff, which is true of the whole of Rwanda. I was upgraded to a very nice suite with all amenities incl. espresso. Selection of restaurants, although I didn’t try any. The exec lounge has drinks and food from 1800 to 1930. Central location in a very safe area.

Very bad costumer service. I have been a member at Marriot for 1 year and I continuously receive bad service. On my kids’ birthday party I was told the spot I reserved in the restaurant downstairs was given away because of a conference. This should have been communicated before as I made the reservation for the birthday party well in advance. I was told I could get a spot upstairs where I was unable to watch my kids as they were supposed to swim in the swimming pool downstairs. I inquired about alcohol free champagne which they didnt have. I asked if I could bring my own and pay them just to cheers with the kids while we ate the cake. The staff told me I would be charged 45$, this for a bottle that costs 15$ in the store. On top of that, I have been asked numerous times to park in another spot further away because another costumer would like to park closer to the entrance… am I not a costumer? All in all I am really disappointed!!

I can't say enough about the service here. We were so well taken care of, I would love my travels to bring us back here again!

  • 2/5 Courtney B. 1 year ago on Google
Not that great for what you pay. Rooms are outdated, don't have the views on all sides as claims, and there are stains on the furniture. Breakfast is good, but busy and loud like eating in a cafeteria. I paid for a nice massage the massage therapist was texting while ahe massaged me, I had to ask her to focus on the massage - very unprofessional. Wouldn't stay there again.

Most of the staff are really kind and many are very competent. But, it's hit and miss. The front desk is consistently understaffed, leading to long queues and phone calls going unanswered. At these prices, that's unacceptable

I attended an ICT forum (AFPIF 2022) hosted at Marriott Kigali, got in late at night, it was really quiet and welcoming. the staff are really friendly and always willing to help. The first night, they were booked to capacity so the room that was paid for wasn't what i got. the lady at the front desk apologized and asked me to kindly bear with them and they will change my room in the morning, she was quite gracious so i obliged. Then there was a mix-up with the rooms and some guy walked into my room! he had been assigned the same room!! gave me quite a scare. they sorted it out quickly and i went back to settling in. i ordered room service as i was starving, again because of the population of people lodge, that took an hour plus to get to me, after a call back and some apologies i finally got my dinner. the next day, i went for my business and got back to the room to meet a bowl of fruits and a note. It felt good. i didn't bother changing my room because i had already settled in and it wasn't that deep! My room was overlooking the city, the view at night was breathtaking, i caught the sunset most evenings, a beautiful sight. On my last day there, i got back to my room to find another note and some lovely arrangement. it really made feel special! i just want to say to @marriotkigali thank you for making y stay comfortable. And to Bonke the housekeeper for my room (509) well-done! continue to give exceptional customer service, it can be very rewarding. I hope to be back in Kigali for pleasure this time as i did not get the opportunity to explore the city then. i would like to stay here again and i recommend it to any one i know going that way. Apologies for the long review, it is unsolicited. Kudos to @marriottkigali

From airport pickup, to reception, to room service, to the waiters at the restaurant and those at the bar, they were always willing to help. I think however, that they should have pain relievers in their first aid box(es). Their meeting rooms are quite good too. Walls are padded and floors rugged to manage sound quality. They served good food too.

This is was my third stay at the Marriott in Kigali. It is an excellent stay, the staff truly go out of their way to ensure you are receiving great service. The rooms are on par with the Marriot experience and have all the amenities within the room you would expect. Ariette and Kevin Mucyo (Iriba Bar Manager) were exceptional and throughout my stay went above and beyond to include informing me without prompt of other inclusive amenities I might not have been aware of. Thank you Marriott Kigali on always presenting a professional atmosphere and your selection of staff.

Great hotel at the heart of the City. Rooms are clean and comfortable with views of the city. Breakfast spread is great, with 3 good restaurant options in the hotel. Outside area is super, with a nice pool and gym.

Bit of an underwhelming experience at the Marriott this time. Staff were great, very friendly at check in, great view from the 5th floor over Kigali. Not sure what is happening with the food though, at breakfast all (ALL!) of the bread was old, stale and dry, the omelettes overcooked and really, in Rwanda, bananas were out of stock? Also, what is it with unheated pools in Rwanda? Nicely designed pool, but why not add a little solar heating system to get it from freezing cold to bearable? Sauna and gym very good though, sauna is large and at the right temperature, gym very well equipped for a variety of work outs
