The hotel is close to city center and you are in walking distance of many of the tourist attractions. The walls of the room are rather thin so you might hear your neighbors. The room is clean and so is the bathroom, but there is no toilet brush. Breakfast is good, not that diverse, especially if you don't want to eat sweet things (muffins, jam, cereal).

Great hotel, good location. Room was very comfortable and clean. Perhaps the room could use a bit more lighting. Very good breakfast included with hot selections. Staff was very welcoming and efficient. Would definitely stay there again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and so did my partner! The bed was comfy and the staff was nice. However breakfast was quite sad as the cereal tasted bland and the eggs / sausage / beans were also quite tastless! Coffee was terrible too and the fruit was squishy. But! The room itself was great and affordable we actually booked another night we loved it so much for new years!

We stayed here for 2 weeks in September. The hotel was perfect for our stay. Clean and conveniently located. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was OK. The only issue we had was the coffee from the machine didn't taste too good but not bad enough to give a lesser rating.

The room was tired, and the bathroom especially in need of an update. Anyone with long hair, don't for a moment think you'll be rinsing shampoo out of your hair with the pressure (or lack of) coming out of this shower. On a positive note, the room was quiet and clean. Breakfast pretty good but machine coffee vile.

Enjoyed our stay.. only down side was the regimented woman on reception when we arrived.. she had no sincerity or friendliness what so ever.. pity as all the other staff were lovely.. wee tip fir her, find another job where you can be a rigid depressing person..

The location was great for us. It was an easy walk up the street to restaurants and shops. There is a big parking lot right across the street, which we didn't need. The hotel has a bar in the lobby. The famous Scotia pub is also just a couple doors down. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Friendly staff. Good value.

Nice view of the river Clyde but general area looks run down with a non operating restaurant next door. The hotel bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable for me but that is just personal preference. Slept a total of 2 hours due to a gap in the window frame making a horrendous whistling noise all night. Morning breakfast staff where very friendly however when I reported the issue upon checking out they didn't seem too bothered about my lack of sleep, it is what it is, probably won't use this chain of hotel again though.

Honestly it’s no where close to 3 star hotel but a more kind of budget hotel. Rooms and furniture are very old and needs some urgent repair. Lights in room weren’t sufficient and bright. Water pressure in shower was so low, that it took ages to finish shower. Forget washing your long hair. Breakfast was mediocre and services were very bad. Only plus point is location, close to shopping street. But you can find better hotels in city center

Great stay here. So much so we stayed an extra night😂 We have ajoining rooms with our friends which the kids loved as they ran between the 2 rooms. Excellent location and 5.minutes from George Square Very clean and staff were lovely too.

The Holiday Inn Express City Centre Riverside is a delightful accommodation option that offers a serene and peaceful stay experience. During our 4-night and 5-day stay, we experienced no disturbance from hotel staff or their services, which contributed to a relaxed and comfortable stay. The room and toilets were impeccably clean and tidy, and the staff was welcoming and hospitable. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, and the location of the hotel was conveniently close to the city centre, providing a stunning view of the Clyde river and Glasgow centre mosque. The breakfast was delicious, though we would recommend adding a few halal items to the buffet and a la carte menu for the convenience of Muslim guests. Overall, we were impressed with the Holiday Inn Express City Centre Riverside and its offerings, and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay in Glasgow.

Stayed for a night after going to a concert. Yvonne and Georgios the night staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. They took care of everything for me and even went above and beyond when I had a few problems. Customer service was fantastic. Will definitely be staying here again the next time I'm in the area. Rooms are comfortable and a decent size. The location is great as well. Fairly central and plenty of shops nearby for anything that you can't get at the hotel. Also within walking distance of the OVO Hydro and the nearby football stadiums if you have a gig/game. Overall a great experience. Made so much better by the amazing staff. Keep up the great work and thanks.

I've stayed at this hotel several times over the past 3 months. When booking into a budget hotel you don't expect much but wow does this hotel blow it all away! The rooms are always spotless and I've never had a concern about cleanliness. The beds are very comfy and the room has everything you would need Inside them. All the staff that I have met thus far have been attentive, friendly and really care about your experience within the hotel. My only gripe is something that is hard to change but should be noted. There is A LOT of waste at the end of breakfast service. During my last stay here I noticed staff at the End of service throwing full buffet warmers full of food in the bin. It's really difficult to see this when we're living in a current economy where food is difficult to afford. Especially such nice food. I understand wastage happens but this is definitely on another scale. As a hotel manager myself I understand the industry is facing massive struggles but that is not reflected in the slightest here. This hotel is a real example of somewhere that is looked after by caring staff and as a guest, it makes the world of a difference that the staff are the way they are.

Convenient city centre location next to St.Enoch and to the famous Scotia bar. Welcoming reception area and staff. We had booked an accessible room as that was all that was available and actually was nice and spacious, and had a door for connecting room so would be ideal for someone with mobility difficulties staying with friends or family next door. No shower cubicle of course, so downside was wet bathroom floor after showering. Room was cold even though air on heater up full. When I went to reception to ask about it they said they can override the room thermostat and put it up higher which they duly did. Room was then lovely and warm so well done staff. Breakfast reasonably good selection of standard fare. Nice bacon n eggs. Let down by watery orange juice from the machine , and terrible coffee also from machine. If I had been staying more than one night would have to get coffee elsewhere. Overall though, clean and nice throughout and reasonable value for money. Nice views from the glass enclosed balcony at end of corridors, looking out over river.

Here for business. Professional well appointed staff. V courteous and helpful at all times. Room was more than adequate. Clean and tidy and well maintained. Little to no noise and I was near the elevator. Breakfast was efficient. Satisfactory choice. All self service no real complaints. All in all content with stay I thought it was VFM. As an addendum a big and massive congrats to the HK staff and the front of house team. I left some stuff in my room having checked out. They have recovered it and it is waiting for when I am next in the city . An efficient and wonderful service.

The location is good for a city trip, it is only a few minutes walk to the city centre. Unfortunately, the comfort leaves a lot to be desired. The bed in our room was almost too small for two people (and I am a small person). The rooms were clean, but should be renovated. There are stains all over the walls, windows are really dirty and the shower fittings looked like they would fall off the wall at the next touch. The staff never smiled and in the breakfast room you had to watch carefully to see if the cutlery was dirty.

Cheap-as-chips (£66 for the night, including parking plus a couple of cooked breakfasts) and well-located for the east end and city centre. OK, the rooms could do with a decor refresh, but all's clean and well-kept. The staff are some of the best.

I'm rating two stars purely because sleep is important to me and that's what I lacked on this trip. First morning I almost had a heart attack when the fire alarm went off around 7am. We had no hope going back to sleep after that. In our room we can hear every door opening and closing, people walking around upstairs, people walking past our room, people talking. These rooms are not sound proof! And this morning I was woken up just after 6am to the sound of someone's hair dryer. There wasn't much option in terms of a cooked breakfast if your vegetarian/vegan. drinks were very expensive and the shower had no pressure. Apart from that this hotel was fine. I personally wouldn't come back again though

One of our favourite places. Jim Gourley the manager has such a 'can do' attitude which spills over through all the staff. Special thanks to Kate and Jack who were super helpful too. Great food..,we had breakfast and dinner and rooms are comfy.

The staff were so lovely and helpful. Hotel clean and tidy. Bed and pillows weren't the best. Breakfast was good and veggie sausages available on request. Great location for city centre, train and buses. Would happily stay again

The staff here are great! The rooms are ok. They’re really clean - housekeeping team here get five stars. But unfortunately the rooms don’t have many power outlets, and they’re inconveniently placed. I stayed in a king room. There were no pronged power outlets by the bed. Also none in or near the bathroom. The room also wasn’t in the best repair. Just little things like the toilet paper roll holder being broken, the sink not working properly, and the temperature control not working. All in all, I enjoyed being here and I’d be happy to stay here again. They exceeded my expectations in kindness and cleanliness, which more than made up for my minor gripes.
