Friendly and welcoming hotel. Simple and comfortable room. Very fresh and clean. We greatly appreciated the ceiling fan to keep the room cool. The location is first rate being in the same block as Central Station. Don't be put off by the humble entrance! We enjoyed the Self service breakfast with a good choice of hot and cold dishes. Whilst this hotel isn't super plush it is perfect for a short stay in central Glasgow . Great value.

I feel so lucky to have found this great hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, my single room was very clean and comfortable and the communal sitting room had a nice view as well as refreshments- tea, coffee and beer/wine for a small fee. The cupcakes and ice cream were a delicious treat. Breakfast was well-organized with lots of options and tasty. Great value and very convenient to public transportation to the airport.

This hotel ranks up there as one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. I love the atmosphere here! The staff is exceptionally friendly, and so helpful. It’s in a great location; just a hop, skip, and a jump from the main train station, and near to many sites. The room is super comfortable. It is located on the sixth floor of a building that has secured access and also an elevator. The rooms are lovely. Mine was a single and generously sized, with a desk, a large shower, TV, and plenty of storage, along with the ability to make tea and coffee in the room. And the hotel itself has a wonderful selection in the lobby of homemade cupcakes, both vegan, and regular, along with a section of homemade ice cream, also with vegan options. All of them are free for guests. There is a lounge with books, coffee, and tea, makings and wine that is available for purchase by the glass or bottle at a very reasonable price. Breakfast is free if you book directly with the hotel and it is delicious. I would definitely stay here again. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, especially for the price.

Only met reception so cannot comment too much on service but the lady we did meet was kind and friendly. Quirky ideas with icecream and cakes. Very clean room, ideal for a quick stay.

Cannot fault this hotel. 1 night stay for a concert at the Hydro. Check in from 2pm and check out at 11am! If you book direct with the hotel, breakfast is included in the room rate. All areas are fresh and clean. The beds are comfortable and the shower is large with plenty hot water. Right next to central station, the location is super - our room was opposite reception and overlooked the massive roof of the train station - a surprisingly quiet neighbour I can report. My OH sleeps hot and we had the window open a couple of inches all night. Neither struggled with noise. The room has a small electric heater also which makes the room super cosy if needed. For an old Glagow building the soundproofing is also excellent. Lovely warm welcome at reception and nothing seemed to be too much trouble . There is a lounge with tea and coffee and seasonally a big hot kettle of very nice mulled wine. There are books in here too if you have the time ! It really is a lovely home from home experience. Don't want to sings the praises of Grashoppers too highly as I think it is still a bit of a hidden gem in the heart of the city - I don't want this place to be unavailable to me the next time I am in town!!

Best choice for a 3 star hotel in Glasgow, and maybe ANY hotel in Glasgow. Good location, decently priced. New, modern, clean and tidy rooms. Nicely lit and designed. Hot and high pressured water in the shower. And nothing really compares to the stuff - SUPER nice and helpful, helped us with every request or question we had. They really go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed and at home (like giving out lovely cupcakes, ice cream for example). Would DEFINITELY recommend.

Absolutely brilliant - lovely rooms, amazing breakfast, the staff are so friendly and helpful and the cost was very good too. It's got character, they make homemade cupcakes and ice-cream later in the day, there's a sitting room you can go to. And did I mention how friendly all the staff are? Not just check-in, but any time of day, including the kitchen staff at the breakfast which is the best we've had in a long time. Proper food well prepared. Not a negative, but just be aware the soundproofing between your washroom and your room isn't particularly great, and the rooms with windows over Union Street could be a little loud in the summer. Union Street late at night can seem a bit intimidating too. All good to know, but would not stop us staying here again - this is now going to be our go-to spot.

The perfect location and an even better staff. Do not miss staying here. It’s in a great location and is reasonably priced. The homemade baked goods and ice cream were a great touch but the helpful staff really made the hotel stand out to us.

This is an absolutely amazing hotel. The location is perfect, the room was comfortable, the home made treats were delicious and the wonderful ladies working the reception, breakfast service and housekeeping were so pleasant and helpful. If I’m ever back in Glasgow this is 100% where I’d stay again. Thank you for an incredible stay!

Nice enough room, clean, lovely staff and good location but the room was horribly hot and stuffy and the fan on the ceiling was too weak to make a difference. This meant i slept very badly. Was also disappointed by the complete lack of coffee in the room despite it including a coffee press. Given it was £148 for one night, I probably wouldn't stay again.

What a perfect find! We stayed for one night last week and I couldn't agree more with all the other 5 stars reviews. This immaculate little hotel is on the 6th floor of a Victorian building overlooking Glasgow Central station's spectacular glass roof, one of the worlds largest. Reflecting the very best of Glasgow, the staff - reception and housekeeping - are super friendly & helpful. It feels like a home from home, especially with the offering of complimentary in house baked cookies, muffins and flapjacks. The only drawback is our room was a little on the small side, which is fine if you're there for a long weekend. We were on a 3 month trip from Australia so our bags filled the room! I would recommend the Grasshopper to anyone. In the budget it is certainly the best experienced. Go stay!

Cute lil boutique hotel above the train station. Rooms were small but had everything you needed. Breakfast was great. Everyone that worked there was super friendly. Fairly quiet considering the location. I would love to stay again…. And can’t forget about the free pastries!

Perfect location to stay; Literally at the Central station itself. Rooms were clean and reception was friendly. Highly recommended to stay! Breakfast was great too!

Absolutely outstanding. Free cakes, excellent breakfast and right next to Glasgow Central station. By far the best place to stay for the price if you can get it when rooms are available.

Brilliant, glad I stayed here, have recommended to family. Well decorated spotless room, nice living room and homemade cupcakes, ice cream and mulled wine to help yourself to. Staff really welcoming and eager to help out where they can. Good location and value. Thank you

Most attractive contemporary budget hotel which belies it’s entrance. Very central. Staff all helpful and very pleasant. Room extremely clean with very well appointed en-suite. Loved the extra touches such as cupcakes and icecream. Breakfast very good.

Very nice small hotel. Friendly staff, very comfortable room, powerful hot shower & several extra little touches that make your stay more pleasant - fresh coffee with a French press in your room, free ice cream & cake, access to a sitting room & dining room. Would definitely recommend.

A really nice, quiet little location overlooking the Glasgow Central Train Station. Easy access to the central downtown area and many museums.

Saved by the lovely receptionist, kind enough to say we could leave our luggage there while we attended Coldplay concert, having been let down by another hotel, but in the end got us a room instead of spending night at train station. Great location, great all round , just wish we'd booked it in first place. Thankyou
