We are so lucky that The Piano Bar & Kitchen just 3 minutes walk from our house. We had a wonderful time and delicious food to celebrate our Chinese New Year dinner. The ambiance was cool, chill and five star service. The food presentation simple but elegance but most importantly it taste superbly fresh and delicious. We had "Salt & Pepper Squid" soft, crispy and juicy served with sweet Thai chilly sauce, "Octopus Skewers" perfectly grill with garlic, soft texture like melting in your mouth served with spicy pickled chilly (This is my favourite), "Softshell Crab" served with tamarind spicy sauce (My partner favourite), "Garlic Prawn Linguini" with harmony balance of the sauce. We end our dinner with dessert, "Cinnamon Churros served with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. The conclusion is perfect food, warm and friendly staff. I wish that I have 10 hands so I can give 10 thumbs up. Dr Andrew & Partner.

The Piano and bar is a good looking venue at first appearance but the menu is a little bit of a bank account killer. As we ordered dinner, the prices seemed right at $18 for a "Bigger meal" wings & $25 for pork belly, but as you can see in the photos the food was a highway robbery for what we payed.

Cheers to this new arrival in Hartwell / Camberwell. Funky decor and cool soundtrack set the mood in the main downstairs bar for our quick casual drink on a balmy Saturday night. Achala is a bubbly host who mixes a refreshing mojito. Food offering from snacks to shared plates will lure us back for a longer session with friends. Add this to your destination list.

Would like to see this place thrive, however my partner and I went there and had a few drinks. Received the bill and was shocked. Basic spirits - jack and coke, gin and soda - $19 each! Had two each, almost $80! Just way too expensive. At that rate if I had two drinks I’m nearly buying a bottle off them. My partner works in a corporate bar and their top shelf whisky is $20 a drink. Was a real shame because the place is quite cool and the service was very friendly, but that price is just ridiculous and I can’t justify going there again. Would love to make it a little local spot for myself, the food was good and decently priced, cocktails were $22, which is standard. How can cheap gin and soda water be $19? Almost as much as a cocktail? Maybe they can adjust the price of their basic spirits. Would love to go back if they could fix this.

A wonderful venue for local musicians. Great atmosphere and accommodating staff. We had a great night at the recent Featured Artist event with Tom Kleb. Many thanks Achala!

Hosted by friendly, welcoming staff this is a cosy, well appointed restaurant featuring delicious chef prepared meals and a well stocked bar. The Piano also showcases talented musicians some Saturdays and is becoming a magnet for aspiring newcomers and well known performers, too. Popular with people looking for a drink and tasty snack or for a full blown evening out.

Lovely Achala. Very responsive and fun. Got food made for our needs. All good, but needs to add vegetarian on the menu to get us more often. For reasonable wines, i felt the $19 tag was well above similar wine bars in the neighborhood. I would be expecting around 12 or 13, not 19.

Went to see Calvin Leung play piano, he was absolutely amazing, created such great vibes and atmosphere. Had some food while I was there, bit pricey but very delicious. The staff were all so lovely, it really makes a place.

I arrived with my wife at 7pm, and we were presented with a menu that wasn't even in tact. It was essentially a folder with loose pieces of paper in it. We ordered the Pulled Pork Sliders and Fries, as well as a pint of beer and a Long Island (Thailand) Iced Tea. The beer came quickly, but my wife was given a coke, not the cocktail she asked for. The food simply never came out, so I can't review it. Other people entered the restaurant after us, and were served before us. We realised they had forgotten our order so I simply ordered fries, which for the second time never came. Disappointed with the coke mistake, we ordered the cocktail again, and for the second time we were given just coke. At the end of the night, we were asked to pay for the sliders that were never served as well as the cocktails we weren't given. The lady at the bar was rude to the waitress, and not professional. All of the food and drinks are grossly overpriced. I have never had worse service, and recommend against dining here. On the positive side, the room is very pretty and has a nice atmosphere.

We came to the Piano Bar with our two boys and had a marvellous time! Service was warm and the food was full of flavour and moorish! The in-house entertainment added to an enjoyable night out with the family! A must-try local favourite!

The positives first. Impressive fit-out, that promises so much as you walk through the door. The negatives Paid for tickets to a musical performance. Was never asked for a ticket or a booking name when I arrived, and told to sit where-ever I liked. Felt very much like everyone else were no charge walk up's (possibly the performers friends) ? Stereo back ground music left on through the first 2 songs of the performance. Live music loud enough for a venue ten times the size. Really impressive mood lighting hanging from the ceiling completely overshone by the surgery level illuminating LED'S. Prices !!!! I think "double Dan's" is a reasonable charge for bottled wine. $79 for $19 Pepper Jack and $49 for $10 Yellowglen Yellow is just absurd. And $38 for a cheese board with 2 x 15g wedges of cheese, 12 watercrackers and a few raisins is just rude. I love the concept of "The Piano" and would love to see if succeed, but if you want to be a premium priced wine bar you need to have unique wines and an ambience that suits. Standard liquor store fare at up to 400% the retail price just won't see people able to support you.

Delicious food. Beautifully presented. Tapas from all over the world. Delightful host with smiley, knowledgeable service. Desirable and quirky fit out that peaks the imagination. We'll come again.
