From the almost hidden alley-way, leading down into the belly of an industrial quarter, the over the top, eclectic neon lighting, signs, posters and paraphernalia, the super friendly bar and table service, to the very, very tasty food, this place is a must visit. It is a hidden gem that, by the time I’d left my very early meal, was starting to attract diners. I ordered the Spartan Burger and a side of fries. The fries were salty, crisp and with a soft inner. Excellent chips. The burger, was large, perfectly layered with very fresh ingredients and the sauces were excellent. What was impressive with the burger was the way each element was distinguishable, and had its own crunch of freshness. That’s impressive. Also impressive was the service. The ladies and gents were very friendly and helpful. I observed a young lady helping a Dad and his two young sons run through the menu upon their arrival. She not only addressed the Dad, but gave equal, if not more time talking directing to the boys, explaining the menu to the little ones. That is first class service. I’ll be back to Fat Bob’s on more occasions than just another visit.

Located amongst factories, you wouldn't have guessed this burger joint was decorated as this vintage retro dinner complete with bright neons. The Argus (vegan) burger was better than we thought. It still maintains a little juiciness and the sauce works really well with the burger. We also tried the Firestone burger which is their spiciest burger and they did not mess with that reaper sauce. It is spicy but still enjoyable in our opinion. Onion rings are pretty standard but the buffalo wings are a little too much sauce although they taste good. Food - 8 Service - 9 Vibe - 9 Price - $$

Good burgers. Dark, American road house vibe inside with a heap of cool old neon signs. Industrial alleyway under cover if you prefer outdoor seating.

Fantastic impromptu pre show dinner. First time here and impressed by the unassuming exterior but surprisingly spacious and well decor man cave. Food was fantastic, and well priced. The young girls did a great job with the cocktails, and were overall service.

What can I say about Fat Bob other than what juicey burgers that man produces. The atmosphere was neon and funky. Lovely wait staff and a really fun dining experience.

A cute little diner with quality burgers. A bit hard to find parking as this place is a bit tucked away but the decoration in the diner is incredible and such a fun place to try. The burgers are so juicy and taste homemade in the best way. The side of fries comes with quite a lot which is great value. Good value overall for a fresh tasting burger with an array of toppings to choose from!

Another winner for burgers lovers 🍔 a trendy classic American diner’s ambiance and vintage decor. Hidden away in the middle of all the commercials and car yard! It’s worth the travel 👍

Did a home delivery during lockdown 4.0. Prices seemed a bit high but the food did not disappoint. One the best burgers and onion rings I’ve had in a long time! Will definitely return to try more. Hopefully in person this time. One niggle of mine that is directed at all food outlets I’ve been to in Australia (not just Fat Bob’s); there’s always too much salt on everything, particularly fries. I’d rather that I get to choose how much salt goes on please :)

My go to for a good burgers and beer. Has a nice selection of burgers. Go for the lot aka Fat Bob, or if adventurous try the spicy Firestone. Their sides of onion rings and sweet potato fries are good too. Wash it down with a beer on tap. Atmosphere was chill and quiet enough to have a conversation, the staff were friendly, and food came out pretty quick. They take bookings but there was ample seating when I walked in on Wed night. Plenty of street side parking too.

Very good Burgers. I remember visiting this place in 2014 after seeing a news paper article about them. It was a really good burger. I've been back once since then but not very recently. Very nice interior with lots of neon lights. Hope they keeping up the same quality.

Food was awesome as usual ! Who doesn't love to sit around and eat burgers and listen to 80s rock on full blast !!! it's a crime not to have U2 on MAX volume while I'm smashing a Spartan burger with extra pineapple 😘 so turn it right up !!!!!! Midnight oil and my popcorn chicken mmmm the only problem here is I couldn't buy a tshirt and coming all the way from Geelong made me sad I couldn't get sauced up hands on some apparel to take home with me but we will get it on the next one 🤗 thanks once again for being awesome !! Will be driving back soon when T shirts are ready 🤩🤩🤩

What an amazing find! It is a tiny little entrance that is easy to miss. When you first walk in, it looks nice. Different but nice. Then we went around the corner and discovered another whole inside that is stunning! It was quiet when we arrived but the staff were on the ball and had us seated immediately. The menu is small and well suited. There are plenty of gluten free options and the food was the best we have had in so long. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

Secret burger joint that was bussin'. Located amongst factories, you definitely need to be in the know to know it's there! Very generous portions with fresh ingredients. Most of all, very tasty burger with perfect amounts of everything! (Also do yourself a favour and get onion rings).

A tucked away venue definitely worth a visit. From big to small appetites, and a range of beverages, there's something for everyone. Staff are super friendly and the walls are filled with various signage that keeps you looking and the conversation going, seeing something different every time you look around. Great music gives it a good vibe that makes room for conversation without yelling. Lighting made for a cosy atmosphere. I was only disappointed that fries with a burger are an add on. Perhaps I'm of habit they usually just do. I would highly recommend the cauliflower bites, I'd go back just for those rippers. For 2 adults it was $80. Must have been a surcharge as our bank statement was slightly higher than said at time of payment by a few dollars. It was a Sunday, so check that if curious or on a tight budget before ordering. That got us 2 burgers, 1 side of fries, cauliflower bites, 2 beers and a cocktail. So a pretty average price for eating out. Glad I went and I think you will too. Quite hidden away in an unexpected nook, but worth looking for.

Really delicious food, burgers were a smash hit all round. Such a cool interior too! Service was a tad slow but you can only be so perfect.

Good burger, good fries, and buffalo wings. But the highlight for me is the lemon lime bitter! I love it! One of the best I had so far! And the pale ale is good as well! At least it's good for my standard. The vibe in the bar is nice with big American influence in it. Nice service and love the puns they put in the bar! They offer variety of dishes so definitely worth to try and hang out with friends.

First time i went there. Onion rings are the best i have ever had. The crumb did it. Too much salt though. I ordered one of their signature burgers (with pineapple, beetroot, bacon, egg), It was just good. That was my mistake though, packed burgers like the lot burger never get a great scoring from me. Their patty had a level of browning I have never experienced before. The decor of the place is top notch. Lots of vintage stuff to look at.

This hidden gem is a place worth visiting with your mates to spend quality time. Ambiance: it’ll take you by surprise. I’ll let you experience it and not write here. Food: Mindblowing. Do try chicken wings (ask for extra buffalo sauce) and chicken popcorn. And that mustard dip that comes along with popcorn will make you say yummmm. Burgers are crazily loaded as well. They’re super heavy and worth the price. We really had a good time here. Will come back here for the wings.

Great fit out, loved the music and the starters, burgers and fries were brilliant. Really efficient and friendly service too. We had a table of 8 and all meals came out together and we never had an empty glass. Well worth the visit

Very cool place - good food and very filling. So far have had the hummer and Spartan burgers, chips, mac and cheese bites and chicken wings. Cool decorations throughout the place and very polite staff.

Really fun burger restaurant. Been here a few times. Food comes out quickly. Burger was tasty, fresh bun and crispy slaw. Chips were nicely seasoned. Also had the onion rings, which were nice and crispy but felt hey could have been seasoned more. Staff were polite and friendly. I made a reservation online through the website. Love the kitsch signage all around. I especially thought the toilet door signage was clever. Great to see all welcome.

Great place to eat but my only issue was the music was too loud and I found it hard to hear people on the other side of my table. Otherwise it was a great place to celebrate a birthday.

A picturesque and well-thematic restaurant with good burgers. It's a place to enjoy a casual meal with friends. Highly recommended to accompany it with a German weissbier. Good music according to the mood filled with neon and vintage signs.

A hidden find with a burger joint located inside a warehouse. Diner style vibes and neon lights all over. We ordered the a Spartan burger which came in a lightly toasted bun. The burger was quite jammed packed of flavour but the onions were not as caramelized and sweet. The siders were great and quite a generous serving. Loved their chips which were so soft inside whilst having a crispy outer. Cauli bites were good and the popcorn chicken was slightly dry but still delicious.

Great restaurant for casual dining such a good atmosphere. We love how it’s decorated. Great menu offerings of delicious food, especially the little sides.

I probably had too high expectations, but the reality was different, especially regarding the service and the quality of the food. They could at least have home made fries. I have eaten a better burger, especially the brioche was not too much. And what was the worst, the cutlery and napkins that were brought to us on request were missing on the table!!!! When we ordered the second drink and put napkins in the note, the waiter only brought us a drink, not napkins!!!!

Bit of an institution for SE suburbs of Melbourne. This burger joint has been around for a while and doing a great job. Even won Melbournes best burger in the Herald Sun a few years back. Sit inside the restaurant if you can, the place is decked out with some old school signage and is very funky.

Terrific atmosphere and excellent Burgers. Don’t forget to try their Mac and Cheese bites. I tried the “Spartan” and it was 10/10. Also the staff was really welcoming and nice.

Most brilliant hidden gem ! You need to check online to see what time they are open as I've been past many times and it's closed so well hidden behind an unassuming Sign Shop absolutely brilliant hamburger chips were great, and had a side of onion rings really crispy and a great BBQ sauce. Thanks I will certainly be back. If you haven't been in it is so worth checking out

Good burgers, great fries, AMAZING buffalo wings! Was here for a birthday celebration and was well worth the journey. Real dark roadhouse sort of vibes. Can’t wait to come back!! (My spend per person was higher because I ordered a lot of beer and 2 lots of wings. I have no regrets.)

My grandson’s favourite place for burgers. We felt very privileged to join him last night. The burgers are delicious & BIG. The decor is amazing. I recognized a few from my childhood days. Staff were attentive too. I loved the “tucked away” feel.

We held an event for 35 in the upstairs function room for our car club. The area was set up perfectly as requested, we used the supplied projector for our event which made things easy for us! The food package was great! Burger, chips & a drink. The meal service was quick and delicious. We probably needed 2 people taking orders though. Best organisation of bill splitting and ease of ordering. The venue is very cool. We will be back for sure.

We have our "date night" here every Saturday - A cocktail to start with; followed by our deconstructed burgers with no buns! One of the very few burger places that don't judge you when you ask to have no buns with your burger.....the burgers are that good - you won't even miss them!! Also, the burgers are cooked to perfection - never dry; and never undercooked. And the atmosphere is nothing short of amazing! One of the best collections of vintage / mid - century signs I have ever seen!
