Sushi Hub is very popular. I was wandering around browsing for somewhere to eat. I spied the sushi train when I was looking at the counter sushi. To dine in there was a line, there is a QR code to check in for contact tracing if you dine in. I got a cup of water when seated. This was my first time using a Sushi train so I asked another person standing in line how it worked. Each plate is colour coded, after you've eaten, the pile of plates according to colour are tallied up, then you pay upon exit. There are make to order options as well as the train, from these I tried the Tempura Prawn and Mixed Vege Tempura (note the Tempura theme, I 🧡 Tempura) From the train I grabbed a Tempura Bean Nigiri and mini Egg Hosomaki. Pretty boring choices, but they tasted great and the experience was a first for me. Will defs try it again. There is one Unisex toilet which is pretty cramped with a baby change table, bin, a hand dryer, nappy bin and sanitary bin. The customer service is functional and hurried due to the constant in/out flow of customers.

The food is amazing but you guys use so much plastic, your business generates so much waste, you only need to look to the bins outside the shop. I can't imagine the amount of plastic that you contribute to landfill each day from containers that are used for an average of probably 5 minutes. Please switch to biodegradable materials. Make it easy for people, even if your profit margins go down a little, always the main concern of any business, do the right thing and think of the long term. Customers, please request paper bags not plastic to put pressure on them. I feel too guilty now to go here again because of all the waste generated. David Attenborough would not be happy. If you just stop using cheap plastic altogether this would be a great business.

Nice sushi joint in a convenient location. This place had great deals at the end of the day. Picked up some salmon aburi sushi on the way home.

We came in and ordered tempura prawns, tuna andSpicy grilled cheese chicken sushi. Had to wait forc15 minutes as they forgot our orders. When the food came it didn't disappoint us. They were really good. Will be back.

Went there to try their all you can eat sushi train for $29. Overall, the meat quality was very good. Sashimi (salmon & tuna) was fresh. They have a very good variety of plates to choose from so you won't feel bored even after 15 plates. However, one thing they can improve is the quality of the rice. Many of the plates I had, the rice were quite dry. Thankfully the meat managed to make up for it. Sometimes i bought their sushi from the front counter and never have the rice issue, perhaps it only happened on the sushi train?

I ordered the teriyaki chicken and crispy chicken sushi packs and they tasted meh. They were a little dry. On the other hand, the nigiri tasted really pleasant. I recommend eating the nigiri over the sushi rolls 🍣👍🏼

Vibrant and colourful 🌈 interior with endless plates of sushi 🍣✨ It was nearing the final few days of our holiday in Australia 🇦🇺 so we decided to dine in during peak dinner time after a little stroll along Swanston Street. Price is decent and taste is more akin to my mum’s liking but I’m not really a food expert so what I can say is the sushi looks attractive, feels nutritious and is easy to consume ❤️

I ate at the sushi train zone and ordered tempura prawn when I got it I found it watery so I think they put the sauce on it but actually it’s oil I’m really disappointed with it,It likes a they don’t care what they served to you,I hope the kitchen staff should concern about the quality of food more.

I personally had a really lovely time here, the food was really really fresh and tasty and I enjoyed it alot more than most sushi I have had, sitting in the sushi train area was surprisingly very calm and comfortable despite it's location just of the extremely busy bustling street. Looking around it looked like alot of people came there for either dates or a small get together with a couple friends and in these cases I extremely recommend it to small groups or dates, the staff was very quiet and kept to other sections of the restaurant and only came over if you motioned for them to. So expect the experience to be a very self guided one, though im sure the lovely staff would be able to explain how it works happily. I really loved the interesting experience and it was very fairly priced compared to other sushi trains.

Go Round Sushi - Poor value even with Liven discount. The highlight was the service. You first sit in cramped space with 3 laminated A3 and 2 A5 menus placed beneath your already small dining table. Seats have no backs and there is on where to place your bags. The sushi variety is poor. Not one white fish protein is on the menu and serving size is small. Each nigiri ordered consistently broke apart as they weren't formed properly, lack of skill. The egg came on top of the nigiri was fridge cold. Sushi Hub's Go Round experience feels like a lame grab for markup, to charge more for the novelty of the train, extracting every square seating area and takeaway business with increasing the customer experience. To top it off this locationran out of the promotional new year scratch cards currently on their website. This promo ends 22 Jan from memory. I will stick with their takeaway from now on.

You can find a huge variety of sushi here and it is made freshly right in front of your eyes. I think, sushi sits on their shelves/on their train for no more than 5 min. Love all their roles but they could be a little cheaper. Salmon teriyaki roll 💥💥💥💥💥

One of the most affordable sushi train shops in Melbourne CBD. However the sushi train section is quite small and wait times most likely will occur

Great location for a sushi hub - right on Swanson st in heavy walking traffic, it’s hard not to stop if you’re a sushi lover & you’re hungry. My fav sushi in the city, always fresh with a great range of sushi - also has an indoor sushi train!

Our go to affordable sushi train. Good selection of food and a welcome presentation. This was super packed when we came. We even had to share a table with strangers it was like a double date because we were just sitting opposite them on the same table. But back to the food. Overall a relaxing place, no pressure for you to leave so they can fit more people. Recommended sushi train experience. - MustBeHungry

A place to die for , for the Sushi lovers. Variety of options, cheap and tasty. Try the wasabi. The meso soup was a disaster; for me , may the smell was not for me.

Beware of the loosely packed sushi hand rolls. They appear to present nicely but once you turn the roll over there is hardly any filling. I realise this is a common practice amongst some sushi outlets but these guys do it to the extreme. Poor form

Out of all the sushi franchises Sushi Hub still has the most consistent for quality and flavour across it's fanchises. Staff aren't overly friendly and sitting down to eat in these places makes you feel like you're on a time limited merry-go-round but the sushi is always good.

Had the sushi train and while it was good and affordable the customer service was terrible. The waitress seemed rude and made no effort, felt like I was just another number. Not sure if they didn't know much English but they barely said a word to me. It wasn't that busy yet had to wait almost 5 minutes to be seated by someone else who was helping other customers when I could have just walked in and sat down. All in all I guess you get what you pay for. Will opt for takeaway next time, more options with the different rolls

Great sushi. Came here as it was a recommendation from a friend. The only downside was that the staff were very monotone, and then an angry man showed up throwing change at the staff and causing a ruckus at the open area of the restaurant.

Good sushi for a reasonable price. Staff were happy to move a chair around so our party could sit together. There is only 1 toilet but they're quick to clean it

  • 4/5 Terry D. 2 years ago on Google
The food was good, the food was on plates on a continuous conveyor, if you was something that you liked you just took the plate off the conveyor. There was also a menu that you could order from as well, a full range of usual soft drinks and some Japanese alcohol - consumed on-site only. Pricing is dependent on what you eat.

Sushi Hub Swanston St offered delicious sushi of wide variety for both takeaways and dining in. The dine in area was nice, albeit quite small and only certain tables had access to the sushi train. Service was very prompt. It was great option for a quick casual dinner.

  • 1/5 Stella W. 2 years ago on Google
They've risen their prices which I understand, but quality of food and filling has also dropped...as an old customer I used to get bigger portions of topping and sauce, at least a decent amount, but not like now where they give the equivalence of a pinch of salt. Not coming back again. As for the comments that said this place was cheap- not anymore!

It’s always a quick and convenient location to buy from with fast service and also plenty of seating. But what I love most about Sushi Hub including this location is the freshness of their products. They offer true quality seafood and as you taste the prawn or salmon hand roll the difference to other Sushi chains is beyond comparable. I highly recommend an affordable meal at Sushi Hub!

Love this place! Exceptional value for great takeaway sushi. There is an eat in option too. All the dishes are being continously replenished and are extremely fresh and delicious. Service is quick and efficient but there may be a queue at peak times, but not today

Best sushi franchise out. Plenty of sushi options and you can dine in or take away. Quick and easy service despite how busy they can sometimes get. Sushi is always fresh no matter what option you select. The spicy crab and prawn katsu are my go to favs on every visit but all their options are just as delicious!

Nice and tasty sushi. Fast service and hard working employees. Seems at times they quite rushed off their feet but manage to provide a good service. Sushi train setup is nice and efficient. Not much of a wait when we visited. Cheap prices and a nice variety to choose from. Could do with some more choices or variations but still nice.

Popped in here for a quick lunch. Asked for a table by the sushi train and within less than a minute we were seated. All the plates tasted great and we flavours were just right. Very convenient if you're after a quick meal and very worth it too.

Some of the best sushi around and so reasonable too! So many great options and quick service too. Even with take away, you have thr option to sit and eat there. Staff at the takeaway does try to rush you a bit, though.

Sushi train dishes were incredible. It's perfect for a quick and easy sit down meal. Not for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere. I went with two young kids and they enjoyed it as well. Affordable and fun eating experience for a family on a budget who enjoy great sushi.

Best sushi to eat and pocket friendly. Love the variety of sushi that are available here. Done in option available and sushi train too. I personally love their nigiris and I think all the item taste real good given their affordable price. Looking forward to their free Miso Soup (forgot if it was free or $1) on cold winter days. Last year it made my day.

For those of you visiting and want an affordable and quick takeout option, look no further! Sure, it's not your traditional sushi but the rolls are great and really kind on the wallet. I grew up eating these so I have a pinch of nostalgia too. Grabbed a few while staying at the Westin because I didn't feel like dining out alone.

Prawn katsu is delicious, everything else is fine. Sushi hub has some of the most expensive rolls in the city, but I go mainly out of convenience, cause Tokui sushi closes much earlier. Would be nice if sushi hub offered ginger and wasabi in non-packet form - those things are awfully annoying to use, and bad on the environment. Just have a bucket of pickled ginger and wasabi squeezy tube at the counter and pop some in people's boxes when they ask.... will promote to 5 star if that happens.

  • 4/5 Dan V. 4 years ago on Google
The sushi train could be fresher - there was definitely some stale things on the belt, so having some good ability to cycle dishes off is important! Love the hand rolls (If you can add Crispy Salmon Skin hand rolls that would be amazing!) Good experience, attentive staff and reasonable prices!

poor customer service experience. i’m sorry for the one star, the star is only for the sushi because it tastes good. the problem was how the staff handle the customer. it was this lunch time, around 12.30pm, the guy (i don’t know the name) who’s doing the cashier gave away my ordered meal to the customer before me, so i had to ordered again from the front of the cashier. i wore a surgical mask to prevent any droplets transmission then pointed out which dish that i wanted, then my finger was almost reach inside the food display and the cashier slap my hand off then said “just said the name.” i did not have any intention to put my finger inside the food display, it was accidentally near the food display. i understand that was dangerous and unhygenic to the food, and i understand maybe the staff trying to protect it. but, he could do it nicely instead of slap my hand off. please train your staff to treat the customer well. but if the procedure require the staff to do it that way, then i’m sorry that would be the last meal i have from sushi hub. don’t worrry, one customer would be insignificant to your business. thank you.

Beautiful, clean bright and modern venue, absolutely huge range of sushi and sashimi, very well made, generous fillings and extremely fresh. Staff always super sweet, and they are very efficient, no matter how many people there, the service is always fast, friendly and efficient. I recently visited Sushi Hub and unfortunately had a less than pleasant experience. Upon seating ourselves at the conveyor belt tonight , we noticed that the waiter provided soy ginger Wasabi plates and water to other customers, but not to us. This seemed odd and made us feel overlooked. Additionally, there was a discrepancy in our bill. We observed an extra plate added, and when we raised the concern and asked for the receipt, the waiter's reaction was less than welcoming. This raised doubts about the transparency of their billing practices. I recommend to others that they carefully check their bills and count their plates, as our experience has left us concerned about potential discrepancies. We visited around 9 PM 27/01 , and it's disheartening to think that such incidents might be part of their regular business practices. I also want to note that we felt that we received a different level of service, which could be related to my mother wearing a hijab. It's important for businesses to treat all customers with the same level of respect, regardless of their background. Overall, our visit was disappointing, and we won't be returning.
