The food taste so good! The waiter was nice and friendly. I ordered a platter for 2, the portion was big! It could be good for 3-4 ppl too. If 2 of you were hungry, this was good for! It is super yummy! The seafood is fresh, 4 oysters in the platter may not be enough for oysters’ lover. I would highly recommend the fish wings and taco! They were the tastiest I have tried so far!

Been meaning to go to Tommy Ruff for a while and finally did it tonight after going to the movies. We were greeted and seated straight away - menus, water, specials - the usual. The interior is quite nice. I started checking out what other patrons were having and everything looked really good. Our order arrived promptly. I had salmon, which comes with a salad (a choice of five) and either chips or rice. The salmon was cooked perfectly. There was some really interesting relish (I'm not sure if it's housemade) - I just couldn't get enough of it. It's sweet, but it also has a slight kick, and it's just perfect with the fries. My partner had fish bites, prawn, scallop, and calamari. Everything was cooked really well and was absolutely delicious. My partner couldn't finish his dish - it was such a generous serving. The service was great - everyone has a smile on their face and is very attentive. Only one of us had a drink and the total bill came to $44.20, which was fantastic value! We're definitely coming back to try more!!

This was a great find. Tucked away on a quite side street, it had a group of friendly knowledge staff. Good food & drink menu. We were realy happy with the quality of the food, cooked to perfection. We'll be back.

We order for pick up, haven’t been to the elsternwick location before. Never again. None of our fried food or chips were salted, we had asked for extra salt too. Staff seemed overwhelmed too. Go elsewhere or the south yarra location

Sooo yummy! The fishes were all so fresh, and cooked really well. Super crispy and not too oily. Ordered the fish tacos which were extremely tasty, the flake fish and chips were good too, but the southern fish and chips 🤤🤤🤤 wow. Beautiful with the chipotle sauce. We did takeout and watched the sunset and was such a nice experience! Almost swallowed it too quickly 😅

Had fresh whole grilled barramundi, it was as good as it gets, delicious side salad . Highly recommend this restaurant

The Fish Taco was amazing on another level. The salmon was a mouth watering melting moment, and the trout with pasta blended so well. The whole dinner was an experience to behold.

Me and my partner went to Tommy Ruff Elsternwick tonight for dinner, the food was amazing and the staff were even better, genuinely friendliest wait staff we have encountered. Big thank you to Costa for being so lovely. Would highly reccomend!! :))

Great fish and chips as with their other locations, always consistent. They are only open of an evening here at Elsternwick. Definitely not your average fish and chips . Keep up the good work Tommy !

The Tacklebox for 2 was astonishingly good, first time trying Tommy Ruff & we’re hooked!! The crumbs and quality of our meal was fantastic - would give 10 stars if I could, thoroughly recommend

Food is delicious, staff friendly - BEWARE OF PRICING. We came here for my partners birthday as we’ve loved the restaurant from past experiences. Food was absolutely fantastic, staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the pricing on some products has been increased since menus were printed, and there were no notes outlining that we should be aware of this. We only found out when collecting the bill, which is unconscionable. Staff were sympathetic, saying that new menus with correct pricing were on their way, however prices should NOT be increased until accurate menu pricing is provided, or a note should be added to menus directing customers to ask staff for pricing. Management is unfairly putting staff at risk of abuse, and using bait and switch pricing currently. Thank you to the staff for the delicious food, and addressing this, however it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

We’re locals to the Elsternwick store - tried to get a table tonight but was full (fair enough). The manager/main wait person seemed really really overwhelmed. When I asked if we could instead order takeaway she seemed really stunned that it was even an option. Ordered takeaway and sat next to the counter where the main wait staff person was. Waited for over 20 mins and turns out our food was sitting on the counter the entire time getting cold. We had told the wait staff we were just waiting next to the counter and she could see us. Totally get it’s hectic during Friday peak hour but honestly the attitude and lack of care is my issue. If you don’t want to be in a hospitality/management position maybe you should do another job where you’re not customer facing. Do better Tommy Ruff.

Been here a few times after a day at the beach. I usually go for a grilled chips and sweet potato chips and salad which is generous and tasty. Also like their own brand cider.

Consistently delicious been eating here since it opened. You cannot beat their quality. Service always above average.

Both dishes we order was very good. Well beyond expectations. Fish wings were fried crispy to perfection and the sauce is best going with the brown rice.

I do enjoy coming here a lot. Fish always tastes fresh and delicious plus the portions are insanely good value for money.

Oh my goodness! I’ve had a few but this was the best seafood platter I’ve had! Every individual piece was perfect! Nothing at all was over or undercooked. Just wish I wasn’t visiting from Queensland. Tried this place because of the reviews and so glad I did! Platter for two, seafood chowder and chips for $145. Love your work Chef!! The waiters were very friendly and helpful too 😋👌🏽
