This was a fantastic experience! We were greeted with a great environment and happy people, then the food came out and to say that my expectations were met is an understatement. The food was incredible especially the rice. Two thumbs up for me 👍👍

This place had great, friendly service and some of the best food I have eaten in Colorado. I also loved all the colorful artwork.

Food was fantastic. We stopped here for lunch after exiting I70 and heading towards Hwy 133/McClure Pass. (I decided to take the scenic route to Delta, which was THE best decision, so beautiful). We were going to eat at McDonald's but saw this place in a strip mall behind Mickey D's and said why not. I had the best sopes ever! One chicken, one beef. They were so crispy, fresh and meat was very well seasoned. Husband had empanadas. Also very crispy and seasoned well. Service was very good and staff friendly. Pretty inside, felt like I was in Mexico. I've never photographed my food before, but it was presented so well I couldn't resist. Cinco Estrellas!!!

Every time I'm in Glenwood, I make a stop here. Love this place!! Everything about this place is awesome, even the vibe, which is kind of hard to nail in a restaurant. The pupusas is the only reason I stop here, but everything else I've seen other people order looks delicious as well.

A strong shout out for Sal Mex. Made a drop in stop for a pedicure for my wife and I walked over to kill some time on our way to Aspen. Had great chips and dip and three tacos (beef and chicken). Perhaps I have been jaded by Colorado resort costs but when the bill came I had to do a double take. Believe a stop at McD's has cost me more. Gave a great tip but more important want to give this shout out. You can't go wrong. This week on the slopes I spent ten times the amount for a meal and I will take Sal Mex. Great decor and pleasant attentive staff from waitress tocounter. GO!

Me and my husband come here every year it is SO GOOD. The staff are kind and friendly, and the food is some of the best we have ever had!

Margarita was not good, my stomach was burning all night, horchata also gross tasted gritty . Got a torta and quesadilla, barely had any meat in it. Not sure how this is getting 4.6 starts. Very disappointed and expected better.

We are on an outing to the Grand Canyon and stopped in Glenwood Springs to recover some history from my past. We checked the reviews on Mexican Restaurants and found this establishment to be one of the better rated. It did not disappoint. The waitress and the food were wonderful with extra salsa and coleslaw provided we all got various forms of the combination platters. Everything was outstanding. Very satisfied with our selection and we all(three of us ) highly recommend it!!

This is my new little treasure and I will definitely being coming back. It is authentic and tasty for sure. The staff was so kind and the food was amazing. the flavors were undeniable. The different options of food makes it so everyone is happy. I loved the atmosphere because everyone in there was like a little family.

Literally the BEST service i've ever had with Mexican food. Salsa, drinks and food came out right away, food was delicious and all my needs were met before asking. Servers are VERY friendly and even charged my phone while i ate. Will definitely be back, fav Sal-Mex food ever! Nice patio too :)

This is a low key spot with high level authentic food. I got the shredded beef taco salad and it was so good I came back 2 days later and got the same thing again. I will make this my go-to place for lunch or dinner whenver I make the trek to Glenwood!

We were pleasantly greeted at the door, very welcoming! I had the chimichanga it was very good! The rice was so tasty I wish I had more. The red and green chili sauce 🌶️ were loaded with flavor. I had a craving for good Mexican food and it hit the spot. Everything was so tasty 😋 I totally recommend. 👍🏻

If you’re anywhere near Glenwood Springs, this place is a must. This was one of the best Mexican dining experiences of my life. The food was so good, from the chips and salsa to the entree. Service was fast and friendly. If I could give it 1 million stars I would.

It was a little different then the Mexican food we get in SoCal and really delicious. The portions are big and the food is fresh. I had fish which was cooked perfectly, very moist. The chips came with salsa and a coleslaw which was new to us. The coleslaw was a pleasant surprise and tasty with chips. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The decor is festive with bright colors. We enjoyed our meal.

Good Mexican food, different than we get in the PNW. We ordered Chicken Enchiladas and a Chicken Quesadilla for lunch. The food was a little slow to come to the table. The chips and salsa were the best part of the meal.

Omg LOVE this (not so hidden) gem!! We tried the shrimp rellenos, shrimp burritos, platanos, and pupusas and all were so good (wasn't as big of a fan of the shrimp rellenos but I don't think it's the dish, it's me lol). The beans and rice that come with the dishes are top notch, and we really loved finding solid Salvadorean food in Glenwood springs as well! Also loved that the shrimp burrito was packed with shrimp 🤩 We did takeout both times, but the interior is super cute and the service is very friendly and were patient with all of our questions. Definitely worth a stop while you're in the area!

The most delicious fajita veggies we've ever had! Excellent service and food all around! The shrimp burrito, chicken fajita quesadilla and chicken enchiladas were awesome.

Would give it 6 stars if I could, everything we ordered was outstanding…I wish we lived closer! Visiting from Denver and wanted good Mexican food…completely exceeded expectations! Highly recommend

Pedro is very attentive as soon as you walk in hes greeting and very friendly open and receptive. The food is delicious. I ate a steak and it was to perfection. Job well done. The waitresses are also very attentive.

I love this spot. Great food. Best tamale I’ve ever had, good burritos and tacos. Always great service and great margaritas! This has become our go to Mexican/Salvadoran place.

We had an awesome dinner tonight at Sal Mex. This is a small restaurant with a big menu with options for everyone and the service was excellent. Everyone was working together and running our drinks and food, making sure everything was good and checking to see if we needed anything throughout our meal. The food was delicious, the margaritas were strong and tasty. We come to Glenwood Springs yearly at least and we’ll definitely be back!

One of the best Mexican restaurants we have been to! The waiter was friendly and the food was excellent. Everyone at our table got something different and no one was disappointed. We will definitely come here again if we come back to Glenwood Springs!
