22 b was Infested with huge cockroaches. We killed somewhere between 30 to 40 large cockroaches in our 8 night stay. We contacted reception and they had a pest control out that day to spray but it didn’t help. I ended up in tears over the amount we were killing a night. Crawling on us in bed, on curtains, scurrying past us if we turned on a light, even in our cutlery draw. We ended up having to buy zip lock bags for food, bug spray and keep our suitcases zipped at all times. We ended up sleeping with all lights on at night except the bedrooms to try to deter them. The carpets needed a proper clean. The bed blankets were so dusty and dirty that I washed one 3 times and we ended up just using our little throw rugs. There were rips and mould on the curtains. We have previously stayed in this hotel quite a few times over the years and used to love it. The location, pools and views are great but that just won’t cut it anymore. This was definitely our last stay at this hotel. It absolutely ruined having a restful stay.

We had a unit on the 24th floor with amazing views of Burleigh. The apartment was adequate with dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and utensils. A dust pan would be good. The bed was very comfortable and also had a spa bath. The only thing I would suggest, is housekeeping to be a little more observant. We had a handkerchief behind our bedside draws and some rubbish under the beds in the 2nd bedroom. By no means would this stop us returning as location and views are well worth it. It's just over half a kilometre from the eateries and arcade. Phil at reception is very knowledgeable and certainly happy to answer any questions. The pool, indoor and out is terrific too with a steam room and tennis courts. Plenty to do. Will definitely like to book again

Unfortunately we stayed here and the room was filthy! We paid extra (2 people) to get a 2 bedroom executive apartment so we would be on a higher level with a better view and a spa bath. It’s not a 5 star hotel, but the room we were booked into hadn’t seemed to had a thorough clean in a long time. Management were nice about it and showed us another room with was much cleaner, however on level 4 (vs 24). Alternatively offered for housekeeping to come the next day. This whole experience was so disappointing as there was nothing ‘executive’ about either rooms. There was a smart tv and ps3 however neither would connect to the wifi, even with an Ethernet cable. The indoor pool and spa were nice, the only saving grace.

Wow the biggest ocean views and around the back of this vast unit views of the river and the Burleigh lights It’s a big sprawling solid unit even with the rain and 32km gusting winds the verandah furniture stayed in place The property was clean but somewhat tired due to its age. New carpets would be great and bathrooms updated and get rid of the dust catching styling bits and pieces but overall we had a good stay

My name James chissell I have stayed in these apartments in the past especially late,70,so 80,s management John and others following him gave me great apartments mainly 2 bed, then in his wisdom allowed us to enjoy sub penthouse on a few years running always great apartments yes some units may be original and it is up to management or maintenance people to do regular checks on,these apartments,as many owners who have put their unit in the rental pool, should be made aware to renovate so it is at the standard that is advertised also left.off coming because the unit was not up to standard this building and her sister buildings 19 van burliegh surf are seeing their age and if a unit is not to standard close it until it is,upgraded I have seen photos remember how bathroomsare original when I was there past their used by date carpets may need attention this complex is very popular but maintaining the units to be brought up to date,if you you wants clients to return I remember chandeliers hanging from ceilings Some balcony furniture looks like what we used Management you have competition on the Gold Coast with new developments and people will look else where if you do not keep the units,in good order, Would love to come back but see reading the reviews much would need to change before considering my return Yours faithfully James chissell Cks

We have been regular visitors to 2nd Ave Apartments over the last 5 years and on every occasion, we have had great apartments on the 7th, 12th and 16th floors. However, on our last stay 2 weeks ago in apartment 19B, it did not come up to the standard that we have grown accustomed to on our previous stays. The views from this apartment were fantastic and the bedding was very comfortable, but the apartment needs some maintenance done to it. It has torn curtains, broken towel racks, chipped kitchen bench tops and cupboards, the carpet looks like it is still the original from when the complex was built, broken taps in bathroom and broken oven door. I highly recommend and encourage management to stay on top of the maintenance of the units if they want to justify the prices they are charging. The overall complex is great. Its just this apartment that is letting it down.

We’ve been coming to 2nd ave apartments for many years now and this year we are quite disappointed. We’ve always paid extra for an executive unit and always stayed on 19 or above. This year we’ve been placed on level 16 and the unit is dreadful. It was Dirty, dusty & old bathrooms not renovated, the carpets need replacing or cleaning....... Our friends who we holiday with at the same time every year are on level 21 with beautiful newly renovated bathrooms. So much nicer than ours. I really look forward to our stay here each year but will be looking elsewhere next year.

Room is shabby, curtains ripped and dirty!! Beds uncomfortable, stained cushions covered in other people's hair. lounge dirty and uncomfortable all in all save your money. Asked for money back because of condition of our EXECUTIVE suite so we could enjoy our holiday somewhere else but told no way!

I had booked before Covid and was provided Credit due to cancellation around the time based on Covid travel policy enforced between states during the time. I was specifically told the credit would be extended as long as needed. Upon reaching back to the reception for rebooking few days back I was told my credit expired. As per hotel they emailed me but after extensively searching my email , I could not find any email from them about Credit expiry. The hotel has gone against ethics and gobbled up our money for their own benefit.

Large apartment on the 7th floor (Executive Two-Bedroom Apartment) with air con in the living space and main bedroom only. Did lack items that you would expect like products in the kitchen - no hand soap, frypan and teas/coffees available. Shampoo was low quality for “executive” standard and the aircon in living room made a bad noise every time you used it. Great location and easy walking distance from main Burleigh spots.

Apartment is looking a little worn but makes up for it with great views. Room is clean and tidy.

Great view of the Beach. Currently building is going through construction, jack hammer from 8am till 3pm Monday-Friday. Unit is old, beds are very hard, pillows were no good. No Doona on beds only blankets which are very old and shabby.had to report on first day a door that was jammed and could not be closed opened. Shower head was rusty, carpet looks very tired and was sticky. Indoor pool and spa unavailable also, this was not notified in original discussions. Had booked days left after 4 nights, very unbearable.
