Great food but very poor service. I tried Peter’s for the first time a couple years ago after seeing so many pictures and reviews. The food was amazing and fresh, however the service was appalling. I waited in line with a diverse range of customers and was disappointed when it came my turn to be greeted with a disgruntled staff member who’s demeanour and communication changed completely. He spoke in a loud and abrupt tone (assuming I couldn’t speak English based off my appearance). I then watched him promptly perk up and cheerily greet the couple behind me and continue to go between the two, based on the appearance of the customer he was serving. Well I wanted to give Peter’s another chance, hoping my experience this time would be a bit more positive and went back for some more fresh seafood. While the food was absolutely spot on, the service unfortunately remained unchanged. Exact same experience this time around with the same attitude when ordering. As a business that’s located in such a prime location with such good food, it’s truly so disappointing to see such a lack in the quality of service. Multiculturalism and diversity isn’t new in Australia, and it seems it might be worth educating your staff on it.

The fish and chips here are pretty good - fish is fresh, nicely fried, and you must eat it with tar tar sauce! Their calamari is thick and succulent, highly recommend to eat it too. You can choose either battered or crisp, personally I like the crisp one for the chewing texture! Their fresh oysters were juicy, it’s worth trying too! It’s pretty value for money, I would come back here again when I crave for fish and chips!

Was recommended by the great team on the aqua duck and they didn’t miss the Mark, best fish and chips I’ve had. Was fresh and tasty and a huge variety back with great service, can sit and eat at the shop or wonder down to the reserved tables at the marina. Ps keep an eye out for the hidden statues the kids thought they were great.

We were lucky to order some fish and chips. However we were given two orders without our calamari, I ordered the special with fish cocktails, prawn cutlets and calamari and chips, I wish I just got the basic fish and chips. I was disappointed in my fish cocktail, prawn cutlet were over cooked and I’ve had way better. The chips were overly seasoned with salt . But my hubby’s normal battered hoki fish was awesome. My sister in law enjoyed hers grilled. Perhaps we’ll be back for lunch and not at closing. The place is always packed, great system of calling out your orders when ordered and checking of QR and Vaccinations. Love the selection, of fresh seafood and cold drinks.

Hands down one of the best fish and chips takeaways and very reasonably priced. Bit of a wait time but goes to show how popular they are!!! They also have other seafood to purchase instore. I wasn't able to try the grilled seafood menu but surely will be back as it's available after 12pm 🐟🎣🍟🦞

Always see the store ad on bus. Very popular fish and chips. We visited it on Sunday noon and waited around 30mins to order. Pretty big food potion with reasonable price. The tastiest food is fish, which is crispy outside and juicy tender inside. However, it's slightly oily. Potato scallop tastes just like normal hash brown with strong flavor of potato, but no much of scallop. Roasted garlic lobster is without any garlic flavor and little bit overcooked. Chips are very normal, not bad, not good, but really a lot.

I did not like it, sorry. The service was friendly, the prices reasonable, but the food was average. The fish was too raw, the chips too soggy. The calamari were quite good. In total, we waited almost 40 minutes in a queue with a lot of strange people. People who are rude, impolite and egoistic. The customers are definitively not the typical tourist or the „upper-class“. So, we waited for what? Disappointment? We will never this place again.

Overall an amazing fish and chips shop! The tables and environment around the shop are sanitary and clean which is nice! The staff are friendly and the menu had a variety of different options to choose from. The food came rather fast and was nice and fresh. They really know how to make delicious food! The place was nice to sit in but there were a few ibises snooping around the tables for food. Also the place has toilets with a tap and soap which is a really nice addition as most places don’t have them open to the public and are staff-only. Although the toilets could do with some cleaning as they smell really bad and aren’t the most ideal. Overall an amazing place to eat at and I definitely do recommend

I appreciate the quality of their fresh fish, which consistently impresses me. They offer the special fish of the day for just 7 dollars, making it an excellent deal for such high-quality seafood. In addition to the outstanding food, I must also commend the staff for their professionalism and friendliness, which adds to the overall purchasing experience.

Really wonderful experience here at Peters Fish Market. Loved the lobsters and the fish & chips. It was really yummy! Had a great time with family eating. Only con is that there’s usually a queue here, so be prepared to wait for your food. It’s worth the wait though. So if you happen to visit SeaWorld in Gold Coast, this would be a great stop for a meal after!

Wicked food. Great setup. Amazing how they have all the seafood on display. Very rude staff though. Went to pay with cash and the man on the till said “well might not have change for a 50” - almost like he was too lazy to give us change. I then said what do we do now - his reply was “didn’t you read the sign” - the other guy said the same thing “read the sign”. Sorry for asking… Lots of people are coming here whilst on holidays - being friendly wouldn’t hurt. Probably won’t come back for the service - it’s a shame.

Always popular, we had a small wait to get in. Selected lobster, bugs, prawns, scallops, fish and crabs. Tried and proven to be great quality in gold coast for fresh seafood.

This is located not far from the Sea World. Fresh Seafood & Fish & Chips. Do take note sauces and condiments are chargeable. Do try the prawns😋 Bus stop is within short walking distance. Google map will be able to lead you the way👋

Only recommend their grilled lobsters. Others are mediocre. We wait for 1hour10mins for the food. I don’t recommend to wait this long time to get the food like this. The scallops are definitely overcooked! So disappointed. Girlled Garlic Lobsters are really nice. If there were no lobsters, I would say 1 star.

Fresh lobster and delicious fish n chip but a bit dissatisfied with the oysters as they’re not really fresh. Price is reasonable $30 for 1 half lobster. $16.50 for set 4 which have fish, chip, calamari rings and 2 prawns. We had our meal while enjoying the sea view. Recommended this place.

The fresh seafood was amazing. We had crabs and prawns they were so fresh and tasty. We also had one of the fish chip packages. It was good just the crumbed fish could have been better. I will come back to try a different type.

Ordering took a bit of time, but great Fish & Chips (Hoki, NZ) for A$10. Fresh, perfectly crisp and cooked very well. Fish was lovely.

Very fresh seafood available to buy. A takeaway or sit in area available for the freshly prepared fish and chips and any other seafood goodies. Plenty off parking and areas to sit whilst eating. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend

Always good food. The ability to get fresh fish cooked how you like is awesome. They are much quicker than you think it's going to be and there are tables down by the water to eat at for a great view.

The food was absolutely amazing! The battered fish and chips cooked to golden perfection. The calamari rings tender and tiger prawns just yummmmmy!

Very good and juicy fish & chips! Decent amount of food for good prices. Still cracks me up though that tomato sauce isn't complimentary, but that's every F&C shop I guess.. My two cents would be to add $1 on to the price of a meal and make tomato sauce a staple - you'll earn a lot of credit for just such a simple thing.

While the seafood was cooked well, I must say it was a rather average experience. Long queue at the entrance (Sunday lunch time) however wait time was not too long - about 10-15 mins to order. Food took another 15-20 mins until ready. A few issues/comments: 1) fish and chips was good, for $10 2) “garlic” lobster was fine for $30 however not very tasty 3) scallops (6 for $14.50) were over cooked (as can be seen in the picture) and the scallop meat itself shrunk 4) calamari rings (10 for $8) were fine 5) garlic sauce and tartare sauces taste the same! Overall an okay seafood place to visit (spent $72) however did not meet the expectations from reading reviews in various online/social media articles Also toilets located outside the building are quite dirty (just something to keep in mind) and parking space very limited. Suggest parking on the Main Street or opposite Sheraton Hotel

Came here back on our last trip to the GC in 2009 and it's just as awesome today. Super handy having it right next door to our hotel 😄 Fish was super fresh and served hot which makes all the difference. Most of all it's fairly affordable when compared to a lot of other places. Will definitely be back.

My favourite sea food restaurant/ fish and chips chop , whatever you can call it ! But when you order a fresh fish grilled cook it comes in a foil wrap better quality then any of the most expensive restaurants around it ! I always stop for the lunch / diner on our way to the Spit beach ! Highly recommend it ! No wonder it's so busy and popular! The fresh fish and other sea food products are so fresh and a top quality! Thank you guys for all your hard work to spoil us !

Great hot fish food. This place is quite popular so expect long wait times, especially on the weekend. They keep everything covid safe which was appreciated and the food came out fresh and hot! We had the seafood platter for 2. My personal favourite was the grilled fish and tartar sauce.

This place is amazing, the wait is long and painful but worth it (every time ) food is yummy and quality can’t beat it. It is much more pricey than some places leaving a hole in your pocket but the fish is always fresh. The chip portions could be a bit bigger for the price, but very well worth the visit.

MID. Unfortunately the food can be hit and miss. Their lobster with garlic was nice but cold in the middle. The fish and chip taste above averages, however grilled fish need more flavouring and scallop was extremely small for its price.
